I am the POA for my uncle who lives at the Lake in the Hills home. Not only is it beautiful but the care he receives is outstanding. I am at ease knowing they actually care about him. I receive updates and photos weekly and calls immediately if needed. I never seem to be a bother when I reach out and I’m welcomed when I visit. My favorite summer visit was the band for residents, family, and friends. This is exactly where I want to live when my time comes to need additional care.

About The Heathers Senior Homes of Lake in the Hills in Lake In The Hills, Illinois
The Heathers Senior Homes opened up in Lake in the Hills IL in October of 2021, featuring 2 spacious, natural light-filled single-story homes designed to look and feel like residential properties. Each has 10 large, single-person bedrooms with private baths and 4 other rooms have accommodations for double occupancy. The property is located adjacent to a residential neighborhood and features a pavilion and fire pit for outdoor activities and a walking path that surrounds the beautifully landscaped 2 acres of grounds.
The Heathers prides itself on Doing Senior Living Differently. Family-owned and operated, the emphasis is on eliminating the loneliness, boredom and sense of helplessness that seems pervasive in many larger facilities. Our well-trained and very caring staff understands that their most important responsibility is to be actively engaged with the residents, whether it is with physical or cognitive exercises, arranging group activities, or spending quiet, authentic time with a resident who seems to be in need of comfort. Because of our smallness, our residents are always within eyesight of our staff when they are in our dining area, huge family room, or other smaller areas where they can read, listen to music or visit in private with family and friends. A salon, game room and exercise room are at their disposal as well. Family members are welcome to visit any time of the day or night.
Built during the COVID-19 crisis, our architect was able to create for each building, a private entrance into a room where family can visit without walking through public areas. Advanced technology was built in for extra safety utilizing bi-polar ionization tubes within the HVAC system to remove viral contaminants in the air. Each bedroom has self-contained temperature controls to meet the residents comfort needs.

I toured The Heathers Senior Homes of Lake in the Hills. I liked the fact that they had small communities in each of their buildings. I liked the room layouts and the different configurations. The memory care and regular residents co-mingle in their building. And I think most of their residents were memory care clients, and that was not a good fit for my mother. The staff members were very nice and very informative. They're happy to answer all our questions. They had a dining room, sitting areas, and an activity room. It was very nice. The staff was very professional and very open.

The Heathers Senior Homes of Lake in the Hills was pricier than the others I toured. The rooms were nice. I loved the showers because you can just wheel your wheelchair and stuff in. They showed me a one-bedroom and a studio. They have a TV room, games, and different activities. The staff was all great. Everything was clean and well-kept.

My mom was at the Heathers Senior Homes a couple of times For respite care. She was given excellent care from a very caring staff. The food is excellent there. It’s all homemade fresh daily. I will continue to use the Heather senior homes for future respite care for my mother.

I volunteer for various programming at this community. The staff is always very kind and helpful and the residents seem to really love it. The Heathers is the best senior community I have ever been to. Everything is clean and the staff is very attentive to the needs of the residents. I highly recommend them.

Our family is so happy to have found The Heathers, If you are reading this, you are looking for the perfect place for your loved one. After considerable consideration of other facilities, we chose The Heathers. We wanted a facility that was: 1. Most importantly, a provider of excellent care. The care here has been excellent. They have taken extra steps to make sure my mother is happy, safe, clean and healthy. For us, the respect they show for my mother means so much. 2. Aesthetically pleasing and clean. The Heathers is well designed and appointed. We knew my mother would like the bright hallways and open spaces, similar to those that she had in her own home. There is an abundance of natural light with windows and skylights which provides spacious and welcoming settings. The decor is also beautiful and fresh. 3. Excellent with communication. We regularly hear from the director, nurses and CNAs with photos, updates, and personal communication regarding mother's status. 4. Great Staff: Prior to discovering The Heathers, my mother was at another facility. There were some staff members that we were confident with, while some were not performing up to our expectations. At The Heathers every staff member we have dealt with has acted with a level of professionalism which is comforting. I have had the opportunity to observe how the staff interacts with other residents and it is evident that the management treats the staff with respect and working there is a good experience. This has been a stressful time for my mother and for us, her family. She is happy and takes pride in her new home. Her outlook on life is good. We are encouraged with The Heathers care and hope that the reader seriously considers this fine facility.

I moved my Mom from a large facility to one of The Heather's homes after my father passed so she could receive more attention from staff and experience more community with the residents. The smaller environment is like home -- she has easy access to the living & dining rooms as well as outside porches to get fresh air. She always has something to do and someone to do it with. The staff works hard to keep the residents engaged and well cared for. This was the perfect move for my Mom.
