My granmother has stayed at Miller on several occasions, and overall we have been pleased with the facility. They rooms are clean; the staff is friendly; they provide a large amount of space for families to spend time with their loved ones without all being crowded around the loved one's bed. The food is a high caliber. They provide on-site physical therapy and really work with the relatives of the residents to make sure that everyone understands what sorts of physical therapy the resident is doing, so that in the event that the resident can go to home care, the family can assist them with continued therapy. They also have programs to help the residents feel a part of the community and give them a purpose, which I know can be a major difficulty of getting old--being unable to do anything useful for oneself. They had a program where they had the residents help bake various dishes, and one to have them do simple sewing or knitting, etc. so that they would have a sense of purpose. I saw a boost in my grandmother's moral after she attended these sessions. The only thing my grandmother really complained about was their bathing facilities. They showered the residents every other day, but they did not do a thorough job because she said they never once washed her legs of feet. Other than this, the staff were excellent and the facility is great.
