My brother initially lived independently at Generations at Oakton Arms but starting in January 2023 had to transferred to Assisted Living because of health issues. As I prepared his room for his return from rehabilitation, I thought how comfortable and clean it was. I have found the director and wellness director particularly responsive to my brother's needs and my requests. If there are issues, I have been able to contact the nursing staff. I am particularly grateful to Tatiana, the receptionist, who is always friendly and helpful beyond what one might expect.

I visited Generations at Oakton Arms. The least I liked was that it wasn't a one-level place, it has elevators but other than that, the amenities and everything they offer were great. They had maintenance out cleaning up when I was out there. It didn't feel like a nursing home. It feels like a little home. They had a workout room and a gathering room where people could go and practice their religion and the staff was pretty nice.

I went to Generations at Oakton Arms. It was depressing. There were just a couple of people hanging out, and they looked like they were bored out of their minds. There were no exercise facilities, except maybe just a room. The apartment was alright. The staff during the tour was OK. I wasn't impressed with anything. I read the menu, but I didn't have any food. I don't like the fact that one of their go-tos is a hot dog. There were three or four people exercising in an empty room.

The rooms provide ample size, offer a number of electrical outlets and they are wired for Cable TV service. Generous portions of food are offered at each meal and provide a healthy and balanced diet. My interactions with staff members have been positive, as they have delivered helpful and great service.

What I like the best about Generations at Oakton Arms is the cleanliness of the property and the amenities that they offer. The rooms were excellent. The staff member who toured me around was extremely professional and considerate of me moving in as a new tenant. I was very impressed.

Generations at Oakton Arms was probably smaller than the other place. I would say probably the size of the facility was better. It was not too big. What I liked least about it was that it needed some updating. The staff was very friendly and very approachable. They offer independent, assisted living, and memory care. They have a lot to offer. And the nice thing about that place is that they transfer you automatically. If you are in independent living, they will send you right next door to the assisted living, and they do that right there in-house, which is nice.

I moved into Generations at Oakton Arms 4 months ago. The staff here is excellent. I'm extremely pleased with all of them. The whole facility is very cozy and very warm. My apartment is the largest suite that my daughter has seen in all of her tours and it is the least amount of money. The food is typical of this type of facility. It's certainly not gourmet dining, but it's certainly adequate and well-prepared. They have plenty of activities for those who wish to participate, like card games and guessing games.

My stepdad and my mom are now in Generations at Oakton Arms. We are happy with it. It seems like a good place for them. When we walked in there, the size of the room kind of blew us away. The room they showed us had an attached room to it. They could have like a living room area, and then the other room could be their bedroom area, and each had their own bathroom. It's like having two separate rooms and there's a doorway between the two rooms. There's double with everything. It has a double sink area, two refrigerators, and two closets. The double bathroom was a good thing, too. My mom has a lot of bathroom issues, so she was glad to have her own bathroom. The size of the room was great, too. We took a bunch of stuff out of their condo and moved it over there, and a lot of their larger things fit in there, so there's quite a bit of space there. It's not a very fancy place. They get three meals a day, and they get nursing care. It just depends on what level of care you come in and how much nursing care you get. They have a beauty shop downstairs where somebody comes in once a week to cut hair. Downstairs, there's a library with lots of books and a pool table. They have a rehab room where they can sign up for rehab. They have a community room where they show movies and things on a big screen for the people that live there. They have activities like bingo, card playing, and different kinds of games. The food is OK, but it's nothing to brag about. They have an activity room where they offer crafts and things like that that people can do. They have outings for people. They can sign up to go to a play or something like that. And I think the community is kept up very nicely, too.

Generations at Oakton Arms was easy to get to. I met the receptionist and the woman who gave us a tour, Rena. They were both very nice and pleasant. Rena particularly put you at ease. She talked to my dad and not me, which was important. The colors were bright. It was nice.

My mom moved into Generations at Oakton Arms. The facility is very inviting, sunny, and clean. Everybody is very friendly and helpful. They have arts and crafts, movie nights, and lots of card games. The dining area is nice and very bright. The food is fine.

Generations at Oakton Arms was small, so you get to know everybody, and they have very helpful staff. It's clean and well-kept. My friend's studio apartment has a nice big open area and they were able to have that by not providing a full kitchen. It's just an efficiency kitchen, which is fine because the meals are provided downstairs and she didn't want a full kitchen. So that was a benefit. There's more room for her bedroom, her chairs, and friends that would come over. The dining area was nice. People were spread out. There was lots of room between tables and it wasn't overcrowded. It was a quiet and smaller eating area. There were windows and it just seemed nice. There was also a little private room if your family was with you. The food was very good. Then there's some kind of a movie/show every night, a word game that my friend went to, and some exercise. There's an activity schedule that has two or three things every day. So, I think it's pretty good value.

My mom was moved to their new assisted living facility after Kelly convinced us that she will be receiving better care there. The level of care here is awfully bad. There nurses do not even make an effort to respond to my mom's needs. When I asked the nurse about a medication she is receiving, she did not have a clue what was going on or why she was receiving this medication. Nursing staff here do not know how to manage her condition. They also lied to us by promising us that there will be a nurse at night, but we came to find out this is not the case. The facility itself is antiqued including the furnitures in their atrium. They are beginning remodel some of it by putting on cheap carpeting and other stuff but cannot match with other facilities in the neighborhood yet. Food and service here is awfully bad.

Oakton Arms was my favorite, and the one I wished my aunt had picked. However, the location was too far out in the city and far from her house. The rooms were spacious, the dining area was area was beautiful, and it seemed each meal was going to be something special just by the way it looked. The lady was incredibly nice to us. I have only wonderful things to say about them. They had a shuttle bus, computer, library, and beauty salon. They had a lot of activities.
