Colfax Manor Assisted Living is a house. It is more of a home environment where I feel that my mom will be safe there. I have nothing that I liked least about it. Everything just looked well taken care of, and they care about that resident there. I saw the memory care. They were caring. They have a live-in cook that does all the meals there. They care more about the residents as if they were one of their relatives. It was clean.

Colfax Manor Assisted Living was very small. It's like a home setting, but it was a nice facility. It was clean and the people were kind. It was very secure. They have an alarm system that if you go near the door it will go off. So, that was good. They do their own activities, like working with puzzles and things like that. They have therapists that come in monthly, and doctors. They have a living room you could visit, but they also have a chair for each bed for a visitor. The person I talked to was very informative about memory care and dementia. She likes to have a relationship with the residents there, and I found her very endearing.

My experience at Colfax Manor Assisted Living was nice. It was good. It was nice and clean. At the time I was there, they had one assistant and the director. They only take seven residents for this particular location. They told me that they have another location a few blocks away that they were setting up, and it would take 12 resdients. The residents were nice and pleasant. They were doing several different activities. The aide was right there with them, keeping them occupied. I would recommend it. They had their own laundry facility. There is a park maybe a block and a half away that they all go to when it is nice weather. The director told me there is a patio where they can all sit outside. The building is very secure. The facility is not the usual facility. It is a home that has been renovated to be an assisted living facility. It has four bedrooms. The dining room is where the ladies were sitting for their activities. The kitchen area is open. From what I could smell, they were cooking something really good.
