We chose the Lodge at Riverside Harbor because they have an area where the residents can go outside. They can’t get away, but they can go outside and be in the sunshine. Almost everything has been great, and the staff has been great. They have lots of activities, and they have my mom involved in those. They had to take her to the doctor for us a couple times; they did that, and things were smooth. The food has been fine as far as I know. I really haven’t eaten any of it, but she seems to be doing OK. Her apartment is really nice. It is not elaborate, not huge, but it is pretty big for her to have a bed, a desk, and a chest of drawers. It is a beautiful place.

I'm not happy with The Lodge. I told them that my husband was a wanderer, but they went ahead and checked him in. He was there for nine days, then they told him he had to leave. They said he got aggressive with the staff and other residents. When he is at the hospital, he has not shown any signs of violence at all to them. I don't know if they're lying to me at The Lodge or if he really did it, but the way they acted to take him out of there was not quite right. I'm not too happy with them right now. The rooms were perfect. Most of the staff was good, but it was the administration and one of the night nurses that I was not happy with. The food was good. I didn't see an activity plan. They just let the residents do whatever they wanted to do. It wasn't very structured at all. They had a library and a sitting room. I was there every single day except for one day out of the nine days because they told me I had to be there with my husband the whole time. They could not handle him and so I had to be there the whole time. They had a small eating area and a small garden outside in the back but nobody seemed to be doing anything with it; it was just there. They didn't encourage anybody to go outside to it even though it is hot up there right now. They didn't encourage any of the residents to go outside and sit and get some fresh air.

Beautiful facilities but no activities. Very understaffed. They need an activities director, cook, transportation. The two nurses are expected to do all and can't keep up.
