My mother had open heart surgery and was to be assisted when rising and going to the bathroom. She would have to wait after ringing for assistance until she almost wet herself and then had to get herself up and to the bathroom.they would show up at her door after she had already gotten herself back to bed and ask her what she wanted..she’s had to stay their twice after surgeries and hates that place with a passion but unfortunately it’s the only place she can afford

I visited Life Care Center in Lewiston, Idaho in 2010. Both my grandmother and one of her close lifelong friends were patients there. While visiting this facility I saw a wide variety of both quality professional conduct and conduct boering upon abuse. My grandmother was admitted for a short-term stay for rehabilitation only, she reported to me that the nurses were condescending towards her and she felt very insulted. I personally witnessed her friend being mistreated by a certified nursing assistant, who wrongly claimed to be a nurse when she was not. Most staff, including the physical therapists were very professional in conduct and treated my grandmother with respect. Some nurses were also extremely professional, while others were unprofessional and rude. I would not like to see any of my family members to ever be patients in this facility again. My recommendation to anyone with family members in this facility is to visit often and keep an eye on how your relative is doing, ask them how they are being treated and listen to what they have to say. Watch for bruises and a change in behavior.
