These last couple months, I have been visiting my elderly friend almost daily at Kindred Care in Kellogg, ID. There is festive atmosphere with a busy schedule of daily activities. I actually joined in on some of these (I love the Bingo games!) The facility is clean and very cozy. Every time I walked in, I was greeted by staff AND residents. As time went on, I started to know some of the residents more and loved listening to their stories. As my friend's health started to fail, the staff was very kind and attentive to BOTH of us. During her final hours, the nurses and assistants were gentle and loving while tending to her needs. When I stayed throughout the night to be with her, the entire staff checked on me constantly. Even the kitchen staff came to talk to me, they brought me coffee, water, and snacks and they made me breakfast and lunch the next day. I can't thank them enough for their kindness and understanding through a very difficult time. They were professional yet personal and they were extremely sensitive to the situation. I am forever grateful to them.

Kindred's grounds are really nice, and the building is OK but a little old. The staff was fine, they had good activities, and they sound really nice. The rooms are a little small and definitely older, but they were OK. The food was fine and good and had good variety. Their prices were high.

I have been a life long community member of Shoshone County and just recently had the need for physical therapy. I did not require inpatient therapy only out patient therapy. Kindred - Mountain Valley came highly recommended - however my understanding the care delivered at their center was more skilled nursing - then a friend said the word to me "rehabilitation" - I asked my Spokane surgeon for a referral for out patient therapy. The staff have been amazing in particular Tara - she accommodated my early appointment request and has always been on time. She had taken time to explain in great detail why we do the exercises we do and has provided further education for a home program and one that I can do at our community gym. I would highly recommend therapy at Kindred and it was so convenient to be close to home and know the healthcare providers involved in my care!!! Great job I will be dancing in no time!!! Thank you! Our family watched our elderly neighbor slowly decline in physical and mental health. With no family near or involved, an increased level of care was needed. I watched the staff (including the Maintenance Man! establish rapport with him) and answer questions about what life in a rehabilitation/ potential long term care setting would look like and providing any support or resources he needed to make that decision.. After encouraging a trip to our local ER and ultimately a three day stay to qualify for his Medicare insurance benefits) he went to Kindred- Mt. Valley. While it was not "home", Waino enjoyed the socialization, visits from staff (including am coffee and conversation with the Maintenance Man), etc. His dog was being boarded at a local vet clinic, and staff and volunteers brought down pictures and videos and even Buster for a long visit one afternoon. Waino eventually regained a bit of strength and returned home (where he passed a short time later) but we will never forget the kindness and compassion shown to him while staying at his local community facility. A big thank you for all you do on a daily basis to staff at Mt. Valley- it may not be said often- but you are so appreciated for the care you provide to our community! Thanks again.

This place is the next best thing to my being home.my room is great, they take me to motorcycle rallys! They have become my family. All my food, including snacks I want is covered, also transportation to all doctors offices, and more. I wouldn't have chosen to spend my life here, but couldn't imagine a better place to have to. Come visit if you have questions_ they are friendly and will probably feed you! Haha!

My mother has been a resident at Mountain Valley for the last six months - she has received amazing quality of care that is worthy of recognition, but last week we had a tragedy in our family. We were so worried that my mother would quickly lose all the ground that she had gained over the last six months based on this news - but the staff of Mountain Valley just would not let it happen. They all surrounded her with love and special attention where at times all that meant was just listening to her remember. I am so proud to have such a wonderful place that my mother now calls her home and her new family. Thank you staff at Mountain Valley for being there for my mother when I couldn't!!! You made the difference for all of us!!

What a pleasant surprise I had when visiting my loved one at this nursing home. The décor of the dining room was something that obviously well thought out by someone. Everyone who was there was so pleasant. I liked that the staff were so engaged with the people who were receiving services there. The administrator cares and it was very apparent that she is involved in all aspects of the nursing home.
