My husband is placed in Emerson House at River Pointe, and it's very nice. You walk into a nice living room-type setting and the care so far has been excellent. The staff has been awesome, they're wonderful. They have exercises of all kinds, arts and crafts, this morning they were having a coffee time with magazines. They have a time when they listen to the news. The dining area is great, they watch what the people need and they feed them according to what they need, like if they're diabetic. The dining room is clean, they get to sit at a round table where there are usually three to four of them that sit together. The reason we went there was that they had so many activities and they tried to keep the residents occupied.

My mom is in Emerson House at Riverpointe. For the most part, they're very accommodating, caring, and structured, which most of what the people there need. I don't have any bad things to say about it. The staff would sit with the residents and talk to them and get what they need. When I go there for my mom, she's in their Bible class, there's storytime, they have things that they make and present it to the class, and they have a big TV in the general area. I just think there could be better communication with families, but due to the volume of people in the residency, I'm sure it's a hard thing to do.

We used Emerson House for my husband's respite care, and it was a good experience. He was taken care of. The rooms were very good, the facility was clean, and the staff was nice. The dining area was good.

I visited Emerson House at River Pointe and thought it was very good but not the type of care I was wanted for my husband. The staff was great. Their rooms were different from the other places I've been because it’s a memory care unit, so it's very different.

My 95 year old grandmother with Alzheimer's & a newly replaced hip lived here and was treated so nicely! We were all so impressed with the facility, level of care, daily inclusion, meals, and genuine kindness from every employee towards my Granny. My grandmother loved living at Morning Star but when she needed Alzheimer's & nursing home care we tried another facility first...but after three weeks, we moved her to Emerson House & we're so glad we did! I would highly recommend Emerson House!

We had to move my father into a place as quickly as possible, and Emerson House had openings right away. We were able to get in within a couple of days. They were somewhat understaffed, and the place is deliberately dim in nature because that’s their philosophy behind people who require memory care as they don’t want to overstimulate them and confuse them. I thought the director was fantastic and then as you go further down the chain, people knew less and were not as useful. They eventually found someone who could help me with whatever I needed. If it’s an emergency, they’ll let me know that day. If it’s not an emergency, they’re giving me weekly updates.

My dad was a resident there for 3 months until his death in Feb. 2010, from Alzheimers. My first impression when I walked through the door to check it out was good. It smelled good, had a nice reception area, the place was clean and the director was very helpful. They made special accomodations for my step-mom to move in too. She was also disabled, but of sound mind.

The staff is very caring towards the residents as well as the family members of the residence. The food is excellent, as well as the cleanliness of the over all facility. I would recommend looking into this facility if you are in need of Alzheimer/Dementia care.
