My mother is in Salubria Center. A lot of the residents are local folks from the Cambridge area, so Mom knows a lot of them. Some of them have mental capacities that don't remember her, but she knows who they are. The cooks have been great. They work with her diet that she has to have because she suffers from Crohn's disease. The staff has been great. The nurse has been great to work with as well as the administrators. Mom has a view very similar to what she had in her previous house. She's about the equivalent of five blocks away facing the mountains like her previous house does. Those were some of the biggest reasons why we went there. I've eaten lunch there several times and they're good. I eat the very same stuff that the members there eat. Mom's enjoying the activities. They have a great big living room and on one end, it's got a huge TV. She has been permitted to play the piano on occasion after dinner, and she just loves to do that and the patrons enjoy it. The staff has been good. However, when they have weekend help come in, I've heard a few comments that they haven't been quite as quick to respond for assistance, and that'd be the only drawback, but from Monday through Friday, it's been great. The facility seems to be very solid and clean. I know my mom has been released to walk around. They have a patio out front. With her hip surgery, she's limited, but she's been able to go out and walk with her walker, with someone watching her out on the patio and getting some sunshine. It seems to be extremely reasonable. I feel it's comfortable and it's accommodating for the value.
