My mom is staying at Aloha Nursing & Rehab Center as a long-term patient. It's a very good place and the staff is very attentive. She had rehab for a while, and the rehab ended this week. They have a lot of volunteer people singing, playing games and a lot of stuff. She got a shared room with someone else, it's air-conditioned, has a TV and they have very good meals. It's not cheap, that's for sure. The staff members are very nice, they really followed everything up and when you need something they'd get it for you immediately. It's definitely expensive but you're getting everything you paid for.

My dad went to Aloha Adult Wellness Program for rehab. If you have a family member who is there and you're not actively staying on top of them, they really ignore him a lot. He was supposed to be receiving physical therapy and occupational therapy five times a week. He doesn't have mobility, but they weren't stretching him at all. When he left that center, his legs were pretty much locked together. They were horrible. I'm not happy about that at all. It's frustrating, 'cause even things like he would have to go to the bathroom, and they just wouldn't come. There were a few workers who were helpful. My dad would always tells me, "That person's really helpful, I really like this person." I'm not saying there were not any good people that worked there, but just the way that place was managed, it's like they don't do what they're supposed to do, they sit around, nobody would answer the phone when I would call, and when my dad would call them for something that he needed, nobody would come even for like an hour. It's just like they didn't pay attention at all. The facility itself was not dirty, it was not crumbling, it's just that they weren't doing their job. I suggest that their physical therapy department be more respectful of the patients, I recommend that they incorporate stretching into the routine, especially for immobilized patients, and that staff members answer patient calls in a timely manner.

Aloha Nursing & Rehab Center was very nice. It's first-class, but it's expensive. The staff is excellent and so gracious. I was very impressed. They have support services there which I think is excellent service to offer the community. I was thinking of joining them there. It's for caregiving support.
