The staff care deeply for the residents here. The place is not up to date but its the love that they show to their resident is what matters. They have a variety of activities, wonderful therapy department and experienced nurses.

Came out worse than when we entered. Avoid at all costs. Was supposed to remodel but was the same old place. Horrible experience. Take your loved one to a better place.

When you put your loved one in any facility I personally think we have to be involved with them on a regular basis then you see that they are doing the best they can. I have had two family members here and think they do a good job ,its not easy and as simple as some people think. It's difficult sometimes for all involved. Be kind to the caregivers they respond better as we all do.

This is one of the most disorganized places I have ever been in contact with. Not only do they not return telephone calls but when you do actually get to speak with the Admissions Coordinator she is nothing more than rude. She doesn't seem to take into consideration that it is a loved one you are trying to obtain help for and I'm guessing that to her my loved one equals nothing more than $$$$. I have heard horrible things about this nursing facility but decided to gather my own information. Once done, I am grateful that they declined to offer a bed to my parent. He is a delightful person who enjoys cutting up and is almost always jovial and happy. He met all of the criteria for Medicare to be accepted into the rehab program but when asked why they chose to decline him they said that they "Oh, we just decided not to offer him a bed".... Andrea's exact words to the caseworker here at the hospital! What a piece of work.... Refused to give a reason why, but was snippy with the casworker. Can you say unprofessional?.... I would probably be more comfortable using the Vet next door than these folks. A 1 star rating is too good for them......

I would not recommend the facility to anyone!! Certain good workers are treated badly while bad ones treated good! Alot of favortism amongst owner and staff! Theres been reports of wrong medicines given to patients and one worker being arrested for elderly abuse! I saw staff sleeping on the job, know of peoples things being stolen and neglect on quite a few patients! If you love your family and they end up there keep a check on them!

My grandmother was at Winder Health Care for rehab following a fall at home. The rehab department was wonderful, and the staff was great to my grandmother. She was very well cared for. I have read all the negative comments on this facility, and yes the facility may be older but what matters is the care they receive! And my grandmother did very well there. She was there for short term rehab and returned back home in the community thanks to the wonderful team at Winder Health Care. Our family really appreciates the care she received and would recommend Winder Health Care to anyone seeking somewhere for their loved one to go whether it be for therapy or long term nursing care!

I was very sad that my mother was at Winder Health because the facility is not up to date. They don't have enough people to take care of all the patients. It seemed to me that if anything happened, then you just give them another drug and that's why we had to get my mother out of there. It was just not acceptable. Their rehab people like the PT, OT and her swallow therapist, on the other hand, were highly professional. But if your parent is staying there, you're still sad everyday when you leave them because you don't know if you're going to be taken care of not. So I wouldn't recommend that people go there because they just don't employ enough people to take care of all these 150 patients. In fact, they only pay the people that are doing much of the work $8 an hour. Therefore, they get a lower grade of employee taking care of these people.

It has been my experience that Winder Health Care is a very heartless place. The nurses seem to only want to do their job, and the patients would rather be anywhere else but where they are. It breaks my heart every time I go there. It's bleak, at best. Patients are sitting around in the halls in wheel chairs, either not knowing where they are, or begging for anyone to just talk to them. It's depressing. The nurses ignore everyone, including me. I have to speak up and let them know what I'm there for, even though I'm holding Pizza and it's obvious to everyone who bothers to care. This place is AWFUL. I have seen old men and women with vomit on them. I have seen a couple of nurses disrespect patients who ordered, only to find out a family member ordered. There are no apologies here. It's dark. It's Government at it's best. These people deserve better. Maybe this will help. I hope so. Usually when I go on delivery, I hope I get a good tip. When I go to Winder Health Care, I just hope I don't see something that breaks my heart, or makes me want to call the police. In my job as a delivery driver I can't say anything, so I remain silent. I'd say shut this disgrace down, but I don't have the power.

I have visited many assisted living facilities, because I am a personal care assistant working in the health care industry. Winder Health Care is definitely one of the worst nursing homes I have ever visited. When I drove up to the facility, I noticed that the building looked extremely old and run down. Upon entering the building, I noticed that the inside also looked dirty and old. The place was very crowded and the rooms were very small. I felt bad for the residents of the nursing home. Most of the staff wasn't much better. They were rude, and seemed to care more about making money than the happiness and well being of the residents. A few of the staff seemed pretty nice, but even they didn't make up for the run down look of the place. I would never allow my family members to stay here, and I feel sorry for anybody who currently lives here. There are much better facilities around than this nursing home.
