Mountainside takes great care of my mother-in-law. They are caring and love their residents. We feel very comfortable with the care she receives. It was a very positive move for her.

I had my mom in Mountainside of Warm Springs, and she loved it there. The girls there were great. I couldn't have asked for anything to be any better. It was an assisted living area, but my understanding is that the government was going to help me pay the $4295 for a room with no roommate, but they weren't. I came to find out I had to pay the $4295 for 120 days. That did not even mean that she was going to be approved or not, and then they would not refund my money. I couldn't do it, so I had to move her to a different nursing home. It's a beautiful facility. I wish my mother could have afforded to stay there because they took excellent care of my mother. It was just awesome. She was there for five days and then that's when we found out that I could not afford it, thinking that the VA was going to help me with it. If I could have afforded to leave her in there, the VA after 120 days would have taken care of her all the way. The girls over there just loved my mom. They were on it.

My dad was at Mountainside for 4 1/2 months. The care he received was excellent. I never worried about him at all while he was in their care. The staff is loving and caring, and interested in the rest of the family also. I could get phone updates anytime I wanted to. I always felt as though his care was their utmost priority. The facility is not new, but it is clean and well-kept.

We visited here and it's probably nice for the people there, but when we walked in, we saw people that we would not want Mom to see because they were in such bad condition, just wheelchairing around. I don’t want that. The rooms were too small. The staff was very nice. The people seemed to be smiling and happy, but I wouldn’t want my mom to be there because it was smelly. I didn’t want a nursing home; I want assisted care, and it was more like a nursing home. There were not a lot of activities, but they did have a place in the back where people could be rolled and strolled around or walk for some people who were ambulatory. They had all of the equipment you would need, but the facility was just too cramped.
