There are lots of things that I liked about At Home Senior Living of Thomson. First of all, it was a nice new facility. They had assisted living on one side and then Alzheimer's care on the other side. So, if the person progressed from assisted living to needing more care, they wouldn't have to move to another facility, but simply go on the other side. That was, to me, an advantage. The other thing was they didn't have too many people there. And it was very nicely arranged. They had their own separate rooms. They weren't put like two to a room. Everybody had his own private little room like a tiny little apartment, which was nice. They did have a community room where they could get together and do crafts and things like that. The staff all seemed to be very nice. I was impressed. The only thing was they don't take veterans and they don't take any kind of Medicare/Medicaid insurance. The only kind of insurance they take is if you have personal long-term care insurance. To me, it was like a spa-like area. It was so nice, like a high-end hotel or something that you could live in, and have all your things taken care of. This was a really high-end place where they seem to be dedicated to doing the best they could.
