Oakview Nursing & Rehab Center was a nice nursing home facility and it was clean. I went there three times and I never smelled urine, and I never saw anything that was unpleasant. Their dining facility looked nice, and they posted the meals in a good way. They had activities. It used to be a hospital, so the rooms were typical double semi-private hospital rooms. It's not huge, and the privacy they had was still a curtain between the two, but they could move their beds around to give them more room. They could put a recliner in there or a chair. Everyone I saw seemed very knowledgeable, understanding, and pleasant. They would give them snacks, and they were very in-tune to them. Even though this is a nursing home, they look at it as the patient's home.

The Oak View facility is a combined facility with both a nursing home portion and an assisted living portion. Ironically they are two sides of a coin, with the assisted living portion being quite nice in most every respect, while the nursing home side lacks in several areas. The staff from my experiences have been nice and respectful, though my grandmother says late in the evenings and nights the staff is very "bare-bone", but typically manages fine. The facility itself is quite nice. Each resident has his/her own room, which is nice, as well as a central gathering area where there is a large screen television, board games, etc. for community involvement. The assisted living has its own dining room separate from the rest of the facility and is not overcrowded. Each day of the week there is usually some activity going on, especially weekends, when church groups come by often. For the price, it is an excellent facility, which my grandmother seems quite pleased with and I certainly can't complain.
