My mother moved into Camden Place. It's very good, they're caring, it gives you a home atmosphere, and there's nothing really fancy. My mother has a private room, the bathroom is shared by another room, but the kitchen is very modern and up to date with tile back splashes, all stainless steel appliances, the laundry room is up to date with all new laundry equipment, and it's very clean. There are pictures around, flowers, it's homey, it's very small, they only have room for about 18 clients at once, so it's a small place. There's a piano in the dining room, there're a lot of windows, there's a front patio and a back patio, and it's very nice. Everything is sturdy, it's very bright, and the staff is very nice. I believed they had a Halloween costume contest, ice cream parties, little things like that, and they have craft classes. She likes the food, she said it's very good, they are able to blend food for the clients that may have trouble eating, they have allowed me to come and take her to doctor's appointments, and she's always excited to get back, she said "you know, it's getting to be about dinner time." The healthcare workers that work there, they've been very nice to my mom, she tells me they polish her nails for her, help her do it, they wash, shampoo her hair, fix it for her, and since she has a cast, they have been helping her with things, they layout different things for her to wear then let her choose what she wants to wear.
What you can do with Caring
About Camden Place - CLOSED in Statesboro, Georgia
Camden Place personal care home consists of 20 beds. We are smaller and more intimate than large congregate settings yet larger than the family model homes. Our “mid-size” homes allow the best of both worlds. We are larger and, therefore, more handicapped accessible. We have more staff and more activity than in smaller settings. However, we are still small enough to be non-institutional in character having the feel of a “home” away from home. Residents genuinely become like family and most resident families participate fully in the life at the homes.
Senior living services include the following:
- Assistance with personal care home or host home placement appropriate to the needs and location of the individual.
- 24-hour supervision and management.
- Assistance with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Nutritious meals and snacks served daily.
- Assistance with medication management.
- Health monitored by a registered nurse.
- Housekeeping and laundry services.

I lived at Camden Place for about a week. It's a nice place, but it's not really technically an assisted living facility because the people they have there are not even nurses. They can't do anything. They can't give medicine and they can't help you medically in any way. It's a great place; they just don't have the personnel there. If you require more assistance than what they're able to give, they won't do it. They should improve on their nursing care. They serve three meals a day. The staff is very nice, and the facility is very clean. However, they have no activities, and they don't offer any amenities. They have housekeeping, and they come in and clean your room.
