My husband is now at the skilled nursing facility of Delmar Gardens of Smyrna. They provided good care for him. He is getting a little bit interested in some of the activities. They do have a good rehab program there. And I don't know that he's progressing that much, but he seems to enjoy going to rehab. They exercise and play bingo. They also have music. The food has been good. Most of the staff has been good. They seem to be compassionate and caring people. And they're good at what they do. The CNAs are very knowledgeable. They know how to do their job well.

My mom is now in rehab at Delmar Gardens of Smyrna. It was convenient and it was clean. The food is not appetizing, and not healthy. The rehab staff was very skeptical at first. My mom's strength is what pulled her through. There are no activities after 3:00 p.m. They have a salon. They have a swimming pool, but it's always closed.

My dad's room at Delmar Gardens of Smyrna is very nice. It's updated, modern, and clean. I saw their whole activities and they have various activities every day between bingo, games, and ice cream socials. Yesterday was his first day, and everybody was very receptive and came to his room. Their price is very affordable.

Delmar Gardens of Smyrna was very clean and the upkeep of the place was absolutely wonderful. But I would like to have a little bit bigger apartment size than what they had. I liked the program that if you didn't get up or wasn't active by noon, they would call your apartment to see if you were OK. The staff who assisted me with the tour was a wonderful and very personable lady. She was patient. She took her time and she answered my questions. They had arts and crafts classes, a swimming pool, and a religious center.

As I walked into Delmar Gardens of Smyrna, it was a nice environment. It was very quiet and the person giving the tour was very informative. I liked the way they had the schedules out and she gave me materials for the tour. The whole grand scheme was very informative. I liked the layout plans. They were very big and updated. The closet space was big and they all have patios or balconies. I liked the fact that they had a system for the residents where they check on them just in case they fall or if something happens. They can come into the residents and just to do a double-check. That was one of my favorite parts.

I toured Delmar Gardens of Smyrna. Everything was very organized. I looked at the model rooms, and they were very nice and clean. The atmosphere was very peaceful, so everything was very orderly. The tour guide was very efficient as far as showing me around as well as talking about it and asking if I had any questions and all of that. Everything went well. She was happy I was there, and she gave me a tour without any hesitation. I saw the swimming pool area. On the inside, it was clean. But walking through the hall, the wallpaper looked dated to me. So it looked like it was old on the inside. Other than that, everything was nice. What stuck out to me was the professionalism of the staff.

My mother is already in Delmar Gardens of Smyrna. They offer everything, it's a very nice place and well-designed, so it's easy for the residents to get around. They have regular meals and they've got a happy hour that they do here. So it just seems they provide full service. They've provided the stove, dishwasher, and refrigerator in her apartment. The staff members are very friendly and very helpful. We also had some of their meals here last night. They do regular activities, they have some kind of a holiday thing that they're doing tonight, and it seems like they have a very active community around here from my observation. There are all sorts of puzzles and they have puzzle tables out, they have crafts that they do knitting sessions, and even more. So they've got a lot going on.

My mom was at Delmar Gardens of Smyrna for respite care. She seemed to like it fine. The setup she had was good. She had a patio and she was happy with it. The staff members were all friendly, really helpful, and professional. I didn't have a concern about leaving my mother there at all. They were affordable for what we were needing. Everything was clean and orderly. There were a couple of things wrong in the unit like a handle came out of a drawer, but it's simple things like that. One of the things that I've talked to Armando about was their respite room was far away. It was at the end of the building and so my mom, who had a cane or a walker, would get tired if she had to walk down to the dining hall. So, they offered to get a wheelchair for her and wheeled her down. So, I liked that. Even though she was independent, they were willing to make adjustments to make her stay comfortable. She seemed very happy with the meal. She had a special diet and they accommodated her that way. She went to some kind of musical function where they had someone singing and then a jazz musician playing. The grounds were well-maintained. It was full of beautiful plants and things. Parking was an issue though because if you go to the circle driveway in front of the building, there's no room for another car to get by. So, you're blocked until they move.

I lived in Delmar Gardens, but I had to move back to my son's house. I was really pleased with the room. I chose a twin bed, I had a dresser, I had plenty of room, and the bathroom, living room, and kitchenette was sufficient with everything I needed. I had a deck. I was president of the residents' council; I enjoyed that. They had plenty of entertainment and good food. They had art classes, and different entertainment came in, as well as gospel groups and churches. They have a swimming pool which was broken most of the time, or not heated -- I was disappointed about that -- a jacuzzi, and an exercise room. They've been remodelling, they keep the outside beautiful, and it's a very nice place with a very good walking space. The staff is aware of your needs and they serve you well. The activities director was on top of everything.

Delmar Gardens of Smyrna was larger, very nice, and has a little more of a resort feel. The layout is bigger, so they have more places to visit inside the building. The rooms were apartment style and studio style, theyre bigger, and they had kitchen areas. The only downfall for me is they dont have a memory care section. The staff was very friendly. They have card tables, giant chess pieces, they have a swimming pool, and they do water aerobics, and jacuzzi. I think they have independent living, assisted living, and skilled nursing.

My mother spent four years at Delmar in the recent past. Every year the quality if care diminished. Her last few months before she died, they SAID she fell from the bed and broke some bones but truth is she couldn't roll over to fall. The nurse said to me, "maybe she'll stay put now". A CNA told me she was mad at other CNA personnel because of what they had done to her. RUN AWAY. What you see is not what you get. You get nothing!!!

It’s been three weeks now since I moved to Delmar Gardens of Smyrna. I chose it because it fits my needs. They have everything you can imagine going on, like indoor swimming pool, so I can do my water aerobics. They also have a jacuzzi. Everything is good, and the price is reasonable. The food we have is good, but the service is very slow.

I liked Delmar Gardens of Smyrna, but it was almost too big; you’ll get lost in it. I liked the activities and that there were more people talking and communicating. It seemed very clean and had big kitchens. I didn’t care for the leadership; they sort of acted like they could care less if you came or not.

I brought my aunt up from Florida to live in this facility, which is a mile from my home. This place is clean and comfortable and provided my aunt with a home away from home. The many activities gave her an opportunity to easily assimilate to her new surroundings. She made so many new and wonderful friends. I don't think I could have found a better home for my aunt in all of Georgia. The staff is A+!!

I toured Delmar Gardens. The tour was everything I had expected. I was able to look at the rooms that my mom would potentially use, and I was able to look at the entire facility. The dining area was nice and clean. The staff was professional, smiling, courteous, and accommodating. My mom is a smoker, so I had to find somewhere that would allow her to smoke, and Delmar Gardens was the only one that had that. I think that they had good prices, and they were very professional. They fit my needs, and it is something that I might use in the future.

Delmar Gardens had pretty grounds, it was kept very well, and the pricing was appropriate. The director was very pleasant. The rooms had adequate space. I liked the social activities that were going on; the residents seemed to be engaged.

Delmar Gardens is wonderful, but it is mostly setup for independent living. The only critique I have against it is that it is so large it is hard for mobility impaired people to get around. It is so big that one thing is so far from the other. That is the only concern, but everything else is really wonderful. The rooms are wonderful, and the staff is great. We were going to put her there, but things didn't work out. They also had one fee which I like. I don't like this level of care add-ons. You never know what you are getting, so I really like the flat fee a lot.

My parent was a resident and we had multiple issues arise during their stay; the facility looks nice from the outside, but as we learned, there are serious problems with the staff who provide 'care' for residents. For example, serious medical symptoms of distress go unnoticed and have to be addressed by family members as well as basic mistakes with medication administration. I would never recommend this facility as a placement for a loved one. The administration gives the impression that they are interested in CYA at times at the expense of patient care. Enter here at your own risk.

Delmar Gardens has been there awhile, and it has a lot more residents, which is more appealing to my mother because she is very social. Every staff that we ran into was helpful. We had follow up questions and they called back. We saw a fine selection of different size rooms: some studios, one bedroom and two-bedrooms. We partook of their live music, complimentary cocktail event and it was very good. An indoor pool with water exercises was a nice throw in, and a little workout room.

The staff at this facility were welcoming and warm. I had a nice chat with the receptionist while my boyfriend was visiting with his grandmother. She gave me a short tour of the building, which had a lovely landscaped exterior and a nicely decorated interior. The apartments themselves are fairly spacious and easy to move through. They all have nice views and plenty of outside light. It seems they have several group activities weekly for residents to participate in that help keep them active and engaged and encourage friendship, which can be hard to find as you get older. While we were there, there was a group of musicians playing and singing in the common area while some of the residents sat and enjoyed the show. I believe it was someone's birthday. The celebration was fun and all of the folks that live there seemed to have a nice time.

The facilities are very well maintained, and the staff genuinely seem to care about their patients and residents. In addition to a wide number of amenities, the facility also plays host to a wide variety of social/cultural events, often partnering with local colleges, churches, and high schools. One such event was a Jazz Band presentation by the local high school Whitefield Academy. I found this event to be very enjoyable, and I was touched that the owners of Delmar Gardens would allow for such culture to be enjoyed by their residents. Overall Delmar Gardens is very much a worthwhile investment in assisted living provision. It is a well maintained, well staffed facility that provides the elderly with activities in a safe, very social environment, as well as immerses them in the local community. It is truly a lynch pin of the Smyrna area, where all are welcome and treated equally!

The facility was lovely, with flowers planted everywhere and attractive paint on the walls. The rooms are spacious and decorated nicely, with plenty of room for a few day guests. The staff that I met was very friendly and courteous and my boyfriend's grandmother seems to be in very good hands there. There is a ballroom type area with plenty of seating and a piano, where events are sometimes held for birthdays, concerts, and the like. This area was decorated nicely, with beautiful chandeliers and lots of potted plants around. The grounds outside appeared to be well kept, with freshly cut grass and lots of colorful plants and trees. All of the outside areas seemed like they had been kept with similar care. All in all, it seemed as though my boyfriend's grandmother and the rest of the residents at Delmar Gardens are very well taken care of and surrounded with lots of beautiful things to look at throughout their days.

The outside of the building is very nice. There are many parking spaces very close to the entrance. The scene is very nice and very relaxing. It seems to be a place any one would be happy to call home. The staff seems to be very nice and welcoming. There is a code that must be entered to exit the facility so it seems very safe. The tenants will not be able to leave without an employee letting them out of the building. There are no bad smelling aromas on the inside so it appears to be kept up and cleaned often. The mail room is up close so the tenants would not have to travel far to get their mail. There is a sign in for all visitors. Also, the facility is easy to get to. There is an exit right off the highway (South Cobb Dr) that leads you straight to it. There are places in the area for the tenants to visit such as parks and grocery stores if their loved ones want to come and take them out for the day.
