My husband was in The Spires at Berry College before he passed away. It was probably the best option in this place and I didn't worry about him. I think he got good care there. But it's very expensive. If we don't have long-term care insurance, it can wipe you out. Thankfully, I had long-term care insurance. At times it seemed like they were understaffed because if he pressed the call button, it could take a long time for someone to get there, but they really tried to do their best. The food tasted okay to me, but I could just hear others complain about it. It doesn't anywhere resemble any kind of long- term care place. The decor is great.

I am a family member of a prior resident of this facility. My mom was a resident of Magnolia Place (Memory Care Facility) at The Spires for three months (Feb-April 2022). When I previewed the facility in October 2021, I were impressed with the presentation and tour and felt that the facility would take good care of my mother. Unfortunately, that did not turn out to be true. Their presentation presented all the things you want to hear but the staff did not fulfill many of these expectations. Although the facility is new and very upscale, my mother thought the food was good and the room was nice, the facility has many issues that need to be resolved. Areas in need of improvement include medical and personal care of the resident, lack of daily activities, cleaning of rooms, and communication between staff, management, and families. It’s not a very warm and caring environment. I would not recommend this facility to anyone.

Magnolia Place at The Spires at Berry College was more standardized, or institutionalized. It didn't strike me as a homey place. It's very clean. They did games and they had a movie room and all this stuff but I didn't see anybody participating in anything, but it was also during lunch time. The dining area was like a small cafeteria.

My mother is in Magnolia Place at The Spires at Berry College. What I like the most is that it is a big place, and it's clean. It is kind of a five-star place. It's a little expensive though. What I like the least is they don't do enough activities. They keep her meds straightened up, so she does get some assistance. She has a nice room, and she has enough closet space. It's a 1-bedroom, 1-bath, with a kitchen and den area. They have a beauty shop, a gym area, a swimming pool, a bar, and two restaurants. It is a gated place. You call and they open the gate for you. You have to sign in.

The Spires at Berry College had everything you could think of. It was like a small city. Their assisted living was very nice. They had a swimming pool and they even do your nails. It was beautiful. When you walk into it, it's like walking into a mansion. They even have a concierge. They also have courtyards, walking places, homes, condos, and a large building that was about a mile long. You're not going to find any other assisted living that big, but they charge an astronomical amount of money for their entrance fee.

The staff is caring and attentive to residents needs. My mother called them her friends. They took the time to listen to has stories and make her feel special. During her last days, she was never left alone. The rooms are comfortable and large enough to feel like a home.

I visited The Spires just last month. It's new, it's beautifully decorated, it offers all the amenities you'd want, and the staff in there were great. It's just very expensive. We saw one room; it seemed nice and adequate. Nothing extraordinary, just a nice room. They have a pool, gym, and a salon. They also have a snack-bar kind of thing where you can buy snacks during the day if you want. They have a large dining room and a chef.
