My mom is adjusting to her new place at Sumter Retirement Village. It's very good. I would say everything is the best right now. I like that she is able to interact with other residents. Her apartment is great. The staff is very professional and good. They have activities for them and a good activities director who works with them. She loves the food and it is very good. They're doing great. She has been there for a couple of weeks, but they do things like manicures and they will let the residents have parties. The location is very good and very nice.

I toured Sumter Retirement Village. They were very pleasant. They seemed excited to have me move in and it happens that the manager of the facilities has similar hobbies as I do and is excited to have me there. The facility seemed very nice. The villa that they're going to put me in, they're going to remodel and fix up. It has not been occupied in a while. So they're going to redo the floors and the walls for me and get it ready for me to move in.

Sumter Retirement Village was very nice. The only thing for me was the fact that it was in Plains, Georgia, so that was gonna be a real travel for me. I like the homey feel of it. The staff was very good. It was clean and professional. It was a very good location. It was not in a real crowded community. It's right in the middle of town, but it was accessible to the downtown area, and eating establishments. The rooms were very clean and very nice. The grounds were well-kept. The facility was well-kept. Everything was well-kept. It was not dirty or anything like that. It had a homey feeling with the greenery, the strawberries, and the landscaping. It was very pleasant. It's a place to consider.

I was very impressed with Sumter Retirement Village. The rooms were large, theyre private rooms with walk-in showers, and it was nice. Everybody was very friendly, and they have been playing a game. They have a very large courtyard with gazebo-type shelters, screened porch, and they have a TV room. I think its a very nice assisted living facility. Its well-run and clean.

Utterly flabbergasted would be a start for this establishment. My grandmother was moved here to be closer to family after she was no longer able to live at home with her part time sitters. This had to be one of the worst decisions we ever made. The previous administrator of many years had a terrible unprofessional attitude. Her lack of professionalism was mind boggling, when she did have a input rather. It seems that she always put everything on the over worked Wellness Nurse in the front office, that always seems to be there working long after everyone else has departed. She is amazing and has always gone above and beyond to make sure my grandmother is taken care of. She is very knowledgeable and her compassion for my grandmother and her job is very evident. Within the last few visits that I have had there has been a new administrator put into place. Which I now have great concerns from asking around in regards to her role and background. I am appalled that the owner would allow someone with no medical knowledge or background to be responsible for the entire operations of the establishment not to mention the lively hood of my grandmother along with all of the other residents that reside there. The lack of staff there is also greatly concerning. I often visit after hours which would be 5pm and the receptionist and administrator are gone. I often see the Wellness Nurse still there along with 2 aides. The turn over rate there has been astoundingly high in just the short time that my grandmother has been there. It leads one to question what is going on there. My grandmother and many other residents have voiced concerns over the lack of staff. I personally do not think having only 2 aides in the entire establishment after hours (5pm-9am) is acceptable. I asked one of the aides what happens in case of a emergency and she stated that she has to call her supervisor which is the wellness nurse in the front office. So again, everything is put on her. I must add that she is a God send and the residents love her. I can not recall her name but thank you for being so kind and taking such wonderful care of each and every one of the residents that reside there. To hear them speak of you, you are truly a blessing to them. Without you there I do not believe that place would be the same.

Sumter Retirement Village was highly recommended by many residents and residents' families. They run a very tight ship, with a the focus on the health and happiness of the residents. The staff are very genuine in their dedication to their residents and guests. The facility is very appealing and welcoming. A refreshing surprise as we visited several options before deciding on SRV!

My grandmother lived to be 96 years old. She was fiercely independent and lived on her on until her mid-90s. As her health declined, we looked for an assisted living facility where she would feel comfortable. My grandmother was a lifelong resident of Plains, Georgia, and liked being able to remain in her small town; the convenience of the location allowed her family and friends to visit easily.Sumter County Retirement Village offers private rooms with ensuite bathrooms. It has a dedicated staff who treat all of the clients respectfully. There is a large common area with televisions and project tables. There is also a dining hall which works to meet the particular dietary needs of the residents; it also meets their peculiar preferences. For example, they keep buttermilk for after supper -- my grandmother especially appreciated that. The home is situated in what used to be a field, so although the landscaping is good, it isn't yet mature. Many of the residents, including my grandmother, enjoy gardening and work in the flowerbeds themselves. For overnight, out-of-town visitors, the Retirement Village has very nice guest quarters. These have small kitchenettes, sitting areas and a bedroom. This feature made visiting my grandmother both comfortable and convenient. My grandmother happily spent her last years at Sumter County Retirement Village, and we appreciate all that they did to take good care of her.
