Rooms are private in the rehab ward which is nice. My mom raved about how good the food was. Things were great at first. I was told my mother could remain in rehab until she was as close to 100% back to where she was before her accident. (Living alone and independent ) 2 weeks in they are kicking her out, still in a brace she has to wear all the time unless she is laying in bed. Cannot put on her own shoes or socks because she has No lifting, No bending, No twisting guidelines from therapy. So please tell me how she is as close to 100% as she was before her accident? And no it's not a payment issue she has 2 insurances and can afford out of pocket. And she hasn't even seen the doctor for a follow up to ensure her fracture has healed.

My father was at Summerhill in the full-skilled nursing home in a very nice private room with a big bathroom. They were great. I didn’t have any complaints. Everything was good. I’m very happy with everything. The food was great, and they had plenty of activities for those who chose to do them. They’re very caring and compassionate.

Understaffed! During the day, in the memory care unit, one nurse is the only one there for over 30 residents. One nurse even said that Summerhill says alzheimer residents have a right to fall if they want to, that they can't restrain them or make them sit down. They are there to be protected from their illness, supposedly. Bad thing is, this is supposed to be one of the best in the state. I worry for the elderly in the future. Things are only getting worse. The all mighty dollar drives this sort of company, not quality care. But it is better than the rest. What does one do.

My mother is a resident at SummerHill. She is on 400 hall. I must say, their is a cna that works on that hall and she is just absolutely wonderful. My.mother and are family are very pleased with her. She is absolutely full of cheer with a great personality. We love the care she receives from everyone . The little girl with the short black hair That works evenings,we appreciate you. We appreciate summer hill!!

The facility seems to be decent but some of the staff should be rethought. There are certain members of the staff that are very disrespectful and seem not to care about others. The nurse in the 600 hall is the worst. She is condescending and disrespectful to the CNA's that work under her and it bothered me tremendously to witness the horrid treatment of this CNA. Makes me wonder if she treats my family member that way.

My mother had to go to Summerhill because she fell. The facility was OK. However, most of the people there were kind of zombie-like, and my mom wasn’t getting the stimulation as far as the quality of life that we thought she needed. Her room was always cold. They didn't have it to where she could adjust the heat to where she would feel comfortable. She just was not really happy or comfortable there. The place was clean. They seemed to have kept the patients clean. They did keep her from falling. My mother did not like the food. However, the staff was nice. They were as nice as they possibly could be. They weren't overly accommodating. They were OK.

Several years ago, I was a guardian for an aunt and I went with her at Summerhill Senior Living. The facility is very nice and very pleasant. It's clean. It smelled good and all of her needs were met. I like the convenience for me. My aunt was pleased with the food. The apartments were okay, but my aunt is in their skilled nursing care.
