My husband spent a month post-surgery in rehab. We could not have asked for a more caring, attentive place for him to do his rehab and heal. I highly recommend Park Place.

I've had 2 extremely unprofessional experiences with Park Place Skilled Nursing Facility Administrative employees in Monroe, GA. The 1st one, the employee thought she had hung up the phone and she began cussing and I let her know that I could hear every word that she said! She then quickly hung up the phone and later called me crying profusely and apologized to me. Saying that this is not who I am, etc. Her apology was not sincere and she only apologized because she got caught! The other incident happened when I was speaking to a staff administrator today and she hung up in my face. This is appalling for any company or adult to behave the way that these 2 staff members behaved. And let me be clear, this behavior is NOT okay and it should not have happened! But, it did!!

The grounds that Park Place Nursing Facility have are OK. The inside is not always kept clean, like the floors. It's like somebody urinates on the floor, gets walked through by a wheelchair, and streaks up and down the hall. Each room is very, very small and they have two people in it. When they both have wheelchairs, it's kind of hard to keep on. They usually have to keep them in the hallway. They have just recently changed hands in the facility and there seems to be a lot more disarray and have more problems now than they used to. My husband went there in October and he was transferred from the hospital to rehab because he's got dementia and Parkinson's and he could not stand without falling. They have worked with him and he is now able to walk. He has to be careful and have a walker. Most of them are very, very polite and very nice. There are not a lot of things going on now as much as they used to be. They usually have something going on each day. They have a calendar that they put everything on for that day. It's too expensive for what you get.

The rooms were sun-filled and bright. The staff were friendly and kind, But one person stood out that was Carolyn. She was always happy and pleasant, most of all she treated My Husband Ray with dignity and compassion. Her presence allowed Ray to feel like he had some control over his situation. Thank you Thank you Carolyn!!!

I toured Park Place Nursing Facility. It's a rehab place. It's a little bit different than assisted living. They provided everything. The staff has all been very helpful. They followed up immediately with any questions you have. They had a gym. The dining area was very nice. The upkeep was very good. Everything was kept very clean. It's convenient to both hospital and a couple of restaurants nearby.

While the facility was clean, the care was below average. The only option for the patient is to wear a diaper b/c no one will answer the call button. CNA staff was very rude and disrespectful to my family members (heard them over the phone) They left my families roommate laying on the floor for 2+ hours b/c they would not answer the call button in a timely manner. I had to advocate daily to get any information and proper care for my family member. One CNA would not even push a wheel chair close to the bed b/c she was collection trays. When I received the discharge papers, there where nurses notes stating they had repositioned the patient every two hours and she was unable to move herself in bed....not true....she was there for rehab not for long term care. It also said she was nicotinate.... not true... she needed assistance to the rest room and they would not answer the call. When I ask the nurse for an update I was told she ate breakfast, ate lunch and took her medicine...she knew nothing else. I could go on and on....bottom line...DO NOT GO HERE!

Found this facility quite upon my arrival, there were seven residents in wheelchairs sitting in this small room where you enter the nursing home. They were friendly to me and each other. I looked up and down the hallways and could not find a staff member to ask what room my friend was in. So I looked in each room until I found her. Visited for two hours and my friend needed to go to the bathroom, I rand the nurse button three times during a thirty minute time frame, no one ever showed up. By this time the patient had wet her pants. Rang nurse again, no reply. Disappointed to say the least and by this time starting to worry about my friend living here.

I toured Park Place for my mom. It was very nice, very clean, and the patients were happy. I showed up unannounced, and I talked to the patients. Her room was very clean. It was a little expensive. They had a craft area.

Park Place was an excellent place. It was just more care than my father actually needed. It was more of a rehab facility, and there were extra things that he didn't need help with. He also complained about the food. Not that it was bad, but he likes it better where he's at now. He was in a shared room, two patients to a room. It was very hospital-like. However, the place was very clean. You would never smell anything out of the way, and it always smelled fresh and clean. I never saw anything dirty in the place. The staff gave me information on Dad's condition and told me that he really didn't need to be there, and that's one thing I was grateful for. They did most of rehab work, and he was able to take care of himself. He just needed somebody to make sure he wouldn't wander off. They had activities like exercise and that sort of thing. He seemed like he was happy there. He just didn't care for being in a shared room because he was hoping to have an apartment-like feel. The food was kind of like hospital food. However, for a rehab facility, it was excellent.

I stayed at Park Place for a week and they took good care of me. They were very nice. I chose it because its three miles away from Monroe Georgia which is my hometown. They've got a couple of registered nurses. They also got exercise crew that knows what they are doing. I can't barely make it to the room in a wheelchair six months ago and now I am exercising well over 45 minutes a day. The food was good. I felt as good as I ever had.

My father is in a nursing home right now but he's doing rehab. Park Place was recommended by the doctor at the hospital and his primary care physician because it is closer to their home as well. For the most part, the staff is very attentive. It seemed they don't rush to help the patient go to the bathroom, but I keep in mind too that they have so many patients to get to the bathrooms. But it's hard and humiliating for like even my father who could just sit there and wet his pants. You're always going to have some people on the staff that don't seem to really want to do anything. I really haven't seen the most exceptional care, but they do the best they can. They have a lot of different activities like Bingo, singing, games, and they've got friends and churches come in quite often, which are pretty satisfactory, and a movie night too. It's a very clean facility. The room where my father is has two beds, but it get's quite crowded because whole families are visiting. The food that they serve seems to be fried quite often, but the servings are huge. I think they need to curb the fried part of it. The aides need to be a little more attentive and they should be encouraged more to do that. Sometimes, when they are called in a room, and I'm sure its very redundant for them but some staff had attitudes like "I don't want to do this again." Then, you also have some wonderful people if they had more attention. I have noticed that some of the patients in some other rooms would lay there on the beds and their television is only blank channel with a lot of snow and that's turned on full blast, because they can't get off and don't know how to use the remote right and it's sitting there. Eventually somebody gets in, but it's a long time. I usually would walk around , go in, and help them with their television. I don't know if I'm allowed to do that, but I do hope so. Somebody needs to check on the rooms on a regular basis, that's all. This facility itself is very bright, very clean, and it has a cheerful environment which is a real plus there.

I visited this facility many times with my friend. I work in the healthcare field and understand how things are. When visiting with my friend, I saw that the paitents were not being checked. They should be observing the patients for any problems that may arise. This facility does not take care of their patients like they should. I also noticed another patient wheeling down the hall with a catheter dragging on the floor. Can you say contamination????? I would not place anyone here.

Dear Shocked, A mattress on the floor is an acceptable practice if a resident frequently falls while getting out of bed. I have worked as an RN at a few facilities in the northeast. These are safety precautions that is usually part of a written plan of care, agreed to by the primary care physician and approved as an acceptable measure to avoid devastating injuries by the state. Please, before 'rating' any kind of facility, be sure that you are well informed as to policies/procedures of that particular facility.

Mattress on the floor??? This looks very bad, what facility would allow such even if this was requested by a family member, for whatever reasons... it should have been denied. As we are all aware, germs are everywhere. Shame on the family and facility for allowing this to continue.
