I toured The Cottages at Woodland Terrace. It was a good tour. Will, the guy that was taking me around did an excellent job. The building was nice and clean, and the apartment was just perfect, exactly what I was looking for. But after thinking about selling my home and making a major life change, I just decided at this point that I didn't want to do that. So it didn't have anything to do with the facility because it was an excellent facility. Everyone was fantastic. I didn't have a problem with the staff or anything like that. I saw a few residents that lived in the cottages, but they just came out and about, nothing special. It was gorgeous. I liked the layout of everything, a gated community that was nice, and the location in town was okay. It was close to the restaurants and things like that.

The Cottages at Woodland Terrace was absolutely beautiful. The people were so friendly and everything, but transportation was a drawback there. I gave up my car, so I wanted to have a bus service or such; they don't have anything like that. I would recommend it to anyone that has a car and could get out if they wanted to go shopping and stuff like that, but not for me. The layout was great. The one-bedrooms even had a sunroom that was big enough that if you wanted to make it into a bedroom, you could do that. The living room was plenty big, as well as their dining area. The place was really, really nice. They will give you lunch every day; but other than that, you have to buy and cook your own food. If I didn't have a car, then I couldn't get out to buy food, so there again was the drawback. In fact, there wasn't even any public transportation because it was too far from it. Shannon was the person who toured us. I wanted to ask about whether they do the cleaning or not, and she said "No, we don't have people that come in. You have to do your own cleaning." She said that sometimes she does it on her own for you. She was great. I was also in the main building where the assisted living people live, and it was beautiful inside.

The Cottages at Woodland Terrace wants $3,000 non-refundable money, so I can't go there. They didn't show me apartments because the office is an apartment. They have no activities, which is another downside. They have no activity place and have nothing to offer in line of food. The living space is fine, it's just that they have nothing to offer other than cutting the grass and washing your windows. The apartment place itself is very nice. Location-wise it's very bad since it's right near the main drag, which is six lanes. The Cottages wasn't owned by the people who run it. More than half is owned by individuals, so they don't even have openings and might not have openings for a couple of years. The lady who manages it seemed nice enough.
