My friend was a patient for several weeks. The rating is based on what we experienced while there. The staff was professional, friendly, kind and compassionate. The DON was very helpful and consistently checked in on us. The facility is very clean; every day the housekeeping staff was cleaning/waxing floors and available 7 days a week! We didn't experience much food due to illness but the staff always offered her several choices as far as drinks, foods she could eat, etc. There were activities going on, chapel, movies, a coffee cart going to each room. Pleased with the services and care given.

The food at Magnolia Manor of Midway is not really up to par; it's not really healthy. We have no exercise, and we have activities but they're not stimulating; they don't stimulate the body, the brain, or anything. So we just sit there. I don't have an apartment -- I have a room. It's clean, but the walls are scraped up. We're not allowed to go outside at all. We have a dining room that we sit in, and we're allowed to go there three days a week. Then after lunch, say 3:00-4:00, we have to go to our rooms. Each group has a different day -- like I have Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays that I can go there. We get no outside activity, no physical activity -- nothing. They give you finding-things games, or they have you draw pictures; these are not stimulating at all. We just sit there and watch television, and that's it, and the food here is terrible. I'm always complaining about what's going on, and they don't like that. They're doing a lot of construction here right now; it might be better a little later.
