My wife was a resident of Signature Healthcare of Marietta. Everything had been great. All the people and the nurses were great. Her room was a one-bed private room with a bath. They served three meals a day. She said all were good. They had a recreation room for rehab.

Pros : mostly kind people Cons: staff does not know the first thing about dementia patients. PT and OT refuse to see my dad because of his dementia. He is in pain because he is dehydrated and has not been moved in 3 weeks. Beyond upset with this horrid place. Please do not take the sales job they give you at the hospital. That is all it is, a sales job.

They are not good at handling Alzheimer's patients. My father was upset and disoriented the morning after he got there. We were told he would have to go to a mental health facility in Ada and provide our own transportation. Finally they said we could take him home instead. They would not order an ambulance. The ambulance company said the facility needed to order transportation. We had to transport him ourselves. We also had to have a family member with him at all times. We paid a lot of money for US to do THEIR work.

My mother spent several days at Kennestone Hospital and was referred to MC for rehab. I arrived a few minutes before my mother (5:30pm) went to her room - 1st RED flag - the bed wasn't made and the bathroom was dirty. 2nd RED flag it was dinner time and I asked what time dinner was and I was informed they didn't have anymore trays. I went and got her some dinner. The 3 and final RED flag was the next day.......my mother was assessed by physical therapy and returned to her room sometime before noon. My mother was left in the room in a huge wheelchair that there was no way she could maneuver, the nurse call button was tied out of reach of where she sat. Long story short she sat in the chair in urine for close to 5 hours. Apparently 2 people popped in and asked her if she was okay but didn't give her time to respond. A family member came to sit with her the next day and I moved her that afternoon. There are few people at MC who didn't know who I was on 8/16. One of those people said I was unethical because I spoke very directly and firmly. My question is how ethical is it to leave a rehab patient sitting in urine and unattended for up to 5 hours with no way to get help??? Do leave your loved on at MC !

Run! Run very fast away from this facility! We mother was admitted here for post surgical rehab. Although the physical therapists and occupational therapists were very kind and helpful, there were absolutely no support staff, nurses, assistants, or doctors that showed any concern or accountability for her care. She did not receive her medication in a timely manner at all, missing several doses of IV antibiotics due to lack of staff able to administer the doses. Calls were unanswered both by phone and call button and she often laid in soiled bedding for over 12 hours before anyone intervened. She was readmitted to the hospital from this facility and faced another surgery as her wounded leg became severely infected during their care. I understand staffing shortages and under appreciated care givers, but this was such a terrible experience I cannot recommend this facility at all.

My parents are now at Marietta Center for Nursing and Healing. It's got some pros and cons. They've got some great people working there that have been taking care of my parents during the day. But the night people aren't near as attentive and near as caring. The room is OK but it could be better. Most of the time the hot food is cold. It is supposed to be hot. They don't eat it because the food is cold. And it's not delivered in a timely manner a lot of times there. All they're doing is watching TV as far as activities. They have a family room, and they have a walking area. However, I have a real problem with it. When you call the facility, many, many times, you get no answer. You cannot get anybody on the phone. You can't check on anybody or find out anything, and people don't call you back. First and foremost, there should be someone to always answer the phone when you call. My dad had appointments he had to go to in the hospital, and the doctor's offices can't reach anybody there. They can't get anybody because the phone just rings or they're put on permanent hold. I've called numerous times, but I can't get anybody. It just rings, rings, and rings, and they'll transfer you, and nobody answers. That's probably the biggest beef I have with them. That, and then the night shift is not as near as good as the day shift, and then the food comes cold most of the time.

They need to shut this hole down. My family member was in a room where they apparently replaced the heating and cooling unit there were gaping holes all the way around it. I took pictures. disappearing clothes (even with name ironed inside), moved patient to a different facility 2 times without informing the family. The last move was permanent, and they did not take ALL HER POSSESSIONS (IE; CLOTHES, 48" TELEVISION, PERSONAL NIGHT TABLE). It has been almost a year now and I still cannot get any answers from them on where her property went. They are just keeping it and letting someone else use it or took it home. I would take my family member snacks and drinks and they were disappearing as well. Staffing is absolutely ridiculous. no one can give you an honest answer about anything. DO NOT SEND ANYONE HERE!!!!

I wouldn’t recommend rehab at Signature Healthcare of Marietta for your loved one. The uncaring, impatient & incompetent staff made our experience for my father a nightmare. We visited my father daily to be well informed of his care & progress. Many of the staff became extremely irritated whenever we’d ask questions or followed up for updates. Impression was that they didn’t want to be bothered & they’re accustomed to family NOT checking in. Lack of communication & inconsistent information was ongoing, even after escalating to the top. Facility was constantly short staffed & residents suffered as a result. Therapists & caregivers seemed ill prepared to provide adequate care required for rehabilitation. After less than 2 months of “rehab” we were told my father wasn’t progressing & he was discharged with a dismal outlook on his mobility. Fortunately Signature Healthcare of Marietta was wrong. His mobility improved greatly soon after leaving this “rehab” facility. Thankfully, my father is now walking without assistance & even driving again! Anyone considering Signature Healthcare of Marietta for your loved one should think twice. Our experience was less than satisfactory & extremely frustrating.

I am giving it 1star because of her having a bed and meals. For over a week no one in my family could get in touch with a nurse , a therapist, left messages for the on staff social worker and no answer. My mom has been in there going on 3 weeks I have had contact with her 2x and this is because I finally after 12 tries got the offices and told them if I couldn't get in touch with her I would call the local authorities to do a welfares check on the facility and my mom -that time i got to talk to her, the other time after 9 days of calling nursing stations her room I had to do same to get them to let me speak to her. I was told upon arrival the therapist would call daily on her progress- well almost 3 weeks and not a word. I do not trust anyone in this facility. DO NOT ALLOW A LOVED FAMILY MEMBER GO TO THIS PLACE!!!!!!!!

I did my rehab in Signature Healthcare of Marietta. It was great, but they didn't always give your medication on time, that was my biggest complaint with them. I just had major surgery, and the nurse (or whatever you call him) would be standing out in the hall talking, not always giving medications on time. The doctor had assured me that it would be on a schedule, but that didn't matter to them. Everybody was great, except for the nurse distributing the medications. The food was terrible, and I lost weight when I was in there. The place was clean and well kept. The place was close to my family and to the hospital.

Do not take anything of value with you to this place. My father has been in here twice in 2 years and both times his phone and tablet were stolen while he was at one of his doctor's appointments. Staff doesn't seem to recall him ever having the missing items. What kind of person steals from a man dying in the hospital.

My dear, dear friend is currently in the rehab portion of the facility. She was on a ventilator for 3 weeks before going to rehab. She is very weak and still having aftereffects of being in an induced coma for 3 weeks. The nursing staff at rehab facility is overworked and not helping her go to the bathroom. AND the worst part is they are leaving her in an adult diaper for hours. Because of COVID, her husband can't visit and she is getting very discouraged. There is no physical therapists there on the week-ends, so she is sitting in a diaper watching TV. She needs help. What can I do to help her?

My mom was in rehab. Then got a call she was moved to Covid unit after being exposed by nurse. No one at facility will call us on an update for two days about her status. The place is not clean and customer service sucks. My sister went there and is on list and they refused to tell her anything

I had both Hips replaced and my right femur replaced. I had great care. The rehabilitation department is Outstanding they work as a team, work you and push you hard. My dream was to walk on beach with grandkids I did this july. Especially thank you Rebecca for all your hard work ethics that paid off, your caring and support. Great support from everyone. I am having left knee removed and replaced again with ligaments. I will be coming back to Signature for Rebecca. Thank you Rehab, doctors, nurses, assistants and everyone I met. Wonderful ladies in entertainment area also. Made lasting friends, will see some of you in near future. God Bless all of you. Sincerely and Love Judy Suarez

My mother went to Signature Healthcare of Marietta for rehab, and she went to long term care after. It looks like a hospital, although there's a community dining room, and a community activity area. There is a beauty salon and they offer a lot of activities every day. That's a definite plus. I would recommend them. I'm pleased with the care she's getting and the staff.

Nurses and caregivers are extremely slow to respond when my mother hits her call button. Response time is between 30 minutes to an hour and is usually closer to an hour. One day it took them 3 hours to get to her. Also, it is very hard to find anyone in charge and they do not do as they promise. Trying to find the name of the facility manager took some digging because no one would give us a name. Rooms are old and tiny unless you are in a rehab room. Speaking of rehab, my mother actually got worse while there. The staff is not friendly and doesn't care about the patients. Trying to find a staff member is nearly impossible.

My mother went to this place for rehab. When she arrived, she was fully oriented. But after a couple days, I noticed an alteration in her mental status. I immediately alerted the staff. They had no clear explanation. I was told, more than once, that the doctor or nurse practitioner would stop by to examine her. I waited for hours and neither one showed up. Late that night, I learned from her nurse that, according to the doctor, the medicines my mother had been given were the issue and her dialysis treatment the next morning would alleviate it, but the doctor or the NP never examined my mother to make this determination. The next morning, Signature sent her disoriented to her dialysis treatment. From there, she was rushed to the hospital, where it was discovered that sepsis was the problem. The lack of competency and patient concern exhibited by the doctor/staff was appalling and despicable!

This place is horrible. Needs to be closed. The staff is very rude and will not return any calls. My mom was there for about 6 weeks. I heard from the doctor once and I requested numerous meetings. I would not recommend this to my worse enemy. Every time I went to visit my mom her light was on and it too 20 minutes to just be acknowledged. My mom fell while in their care and they never called me. That is protocol. My mom oxygen tank was not plugged up for the first 2 days. Speech therapy discovered that. I had to constantly educate the staff on my moms condition. Sometimes she had to wait on her meals because they could not get it right or just forgot to bring her meal to her. I felt like myself or a family member had to be with her all the time.

Excellent rehab, but if you want your loved one taken care of or if you want meds delivered accurately or on time, look elsewhere. Nurse Call system is a joke.

My mom's room was filthy. Most of the staff was very unresponsive. The administration was brutal....Would recommend that you NEVER put a loved one there!! A few nice folks, but they are way understaffed, and the management gives lip service only, does nothing about it.

Please do NOT send your family members here!!! Dropped off mother to help with post hip surgery care and was informed by her this place just isn't up to par. Bathroom grout isn't clean and they don't provide flip flops for patients. They served bathroom sink (covered in lime and calcium) water to my loved one!!! When we tried to check out they made it incredibly hard and forced us to wait to see dr. just to be discharged from what should've been a VOLUNTARY stay!!! WILL NEVER USE THIS PLACE AGAIN!!!!!! AVOID ! AVOID! AVOID!

My mother was in Signature for 5 weeks. I was with her when she was admitted. It was at night and the main staff other than nurses was not there at that time, but I did let the nurse on duty know that my mother has divirticulosis and dysphasia ( swallowing problem) therefore her diet would need to be different than the regular meals. She would not be able to eat certain foods. I tried and tried to get her meals adjusted but they never got it right. She only weighed 113 pounds when she entered and she weighed 98 pounds when she was discharged due to their lack of interest in her meals. I would NEVER put her back there again. She has been home for a week and with the help of my family she has gained weight already! Additionally, the occupational therapist did nothing to increase her upper body strength. They had her putting pegs in holes and stack blocks. She did not need that and it annoyed her to even go for that therapy. Again, she has an occupational therapist going into her home twice a week and he is not only working on her upper body strength but is also helping her with pain in her right shoulder.

I did not like Signature Healthcare of Marietta. Not much impressed me with this facility. The rehab rooms looked nicer than the nursing rooms. They have carpet in the halls and I do not like carpet in the halls. Other than the dining room and one little area to play cards, I did not see any day rooms. I saw people outside the doors just hanging off their wheelchairs; I didn’t like it. However, the girl was very accommodating when I toured the place. The staff was nice.

WORST FACILITY EVER!!! Wrong medication given, or no medication at all. The nurse would enter the room and hand my relative a cup with meds, but would not explain anything or even ask for a name to ensure she had the right person. REDICULAS…I will NEVER subject a loved one to that place again.

I had surgery, and they took me to Signature for a little while, but they weren’t really equipped. They looked after me, and after a few days they sent me to the emergency room; I have just gotten home from there. When I first went, I was very upset as they put me off in an old wing behind a curtain, people hollered on that, and I started crying and calling my niece ask her to come and stay with me. Four people had to share one bathroom. You can’t get the wheelchair into the bathroom. When you sit on the toilet, the door was open, and the other woman in the space could watch me while I was on the toilet. It was horrible. However, some of the staff was good, and some were not. The food was not good, and I didn’t eat much in there. The gym was good, but as far as general living, that was just awful. Just before they took me to the emergency room, they put me in a nice, private room in another wing, and it was just wonderful. If they put me in that room in the first place, I would have an entirely different memory of them. While I was in the hospital, my niece went by my room at Signature, and they had already packed up all my stuff in boxes and given my bed to somebody else, so I couldn’t go back there.

My mother had been in a hospital and they put her in Signature Healthcare to help her get her strength back. She was there for about a month. She liked this facility. The place was very good. It was clean. The nurses and the aides were all very nice. She received good care there. They had good occupational therapists and physical therapists that worked with her and they were very good. I would give this facility a high rating.

My father was in Signature Healthcare for rehab. It's an old building but very clean. He received an attentive and compassionate care there. Since I've visited my dad quite a bit I noticed that the staff don't brief each other properly when they changed shifts. They also have a lot of traveling nurses that, there's a lot of shifting in and out of the place.

Okay so i took my father here to visit to see if this would be a fit for him. So we visited the spacious rooms watched a little TV with the other residents and played some crossword games. I turn my head for a second and my father disappeared and had gotten loss outside the center. Within a few minutes they found him they really have a good security staff they actually used their cameras to find my dad and one of the security patrols picked him up. Luckily he never left the premises of the center due to the fast security.
