My dad moved to Vernon Woods Retirement Community. The people there are the best because all the workers worked so hard. They're very caring, informative, and helpful. The staff was very caring. They go out of their way to make sure my dad is comfortable and try to meet his needs. Their food is excellent. I had some salmon there and Jeffrey, the chef, was very good. He's been there the whole time. The facility is very clean. The structure is getting a little old but they're very accommodating when I ask for something. The worst part is the elevators, they feel old. They do a great job in the activities. They gather every Wednesday, they play games like cards and such. They have somebody that comes to sing to them. They go on excursions and they have a van to church. The atmosphere is friendly and everybody speaks.

My mom was here before she passed. The staff was excellent, and it's very clean and well-designed. I know they had different games like indoor bowling, and she loved that. They had musicians come in and play too. They're very organized and I think it's a very good place. They had a family room, a pool table room, and a beauty and barbershop for the residents. My mom was not there long enough to know all the available things but we were very happy when she was there.

It was very nice and set up quite adequately. The lady who took us around was very nice. It's just a little bit far away from us. The staff was very nice, congenial, and helpful. The grounds were very nice, clean, and beautiful and there were flowers everywhere. The residents seemed to be happy.

My mom is here. She is looking for an independent living and they provide the most independent living with appliances, kitchen and things like that. There is also a portion, which is assisted living, but she's in the independent living. She's doing great. For every senior that I met there, the first word out of their mouth is how nice and how helpful the staff are. They are very caring, very friendly, always available, and excellent. From the maintenance crew to the people who helped us move in, they have been excellent. The place itself just feels homey. It doesn't feel like a nursing home. It is a very comfortable and appealing place. They have certain meals accessible, and they have options on how they want to do that. The food is very flavorful and very good. They do bingo, yahtzee, and bring in outside entertainers and informational speakers. They have exercises and yoga. They go on trips.
