My mother is in LaGrange Nursing & Rehab Center. I wish it was a little cleaner, but it's OK. The nurses are great and the staff is great. Everybody's great. It's just an old facility. It needs more bathrooms. She's been in a room with another lady. They have two beds. Four patients share one bathroom and it is a little aggravating sometimes, but her roommate is great. I have tasted some of the food. The barbecue sandwich was good. That's all I have tasted so far. She was in rehab, but now we have moved her over to full-time residency.

I have been a resident at Lagrange Nursing & Rehab Center for a few years. It's a pretty clean facility but the food is horrible and the nursing is hit-and-miss. That's the reason why I want to leave. I would have to say it's the best nursing home I've ever been in or had any dealings with, but this new management stinks. I would call it a "no-care center " now. When it was the old Lagrange, it was wonderful. It had problems, but now we have problems even getting insulin and seizure medication. That's been my experience. I would not recommend them, not with this new company. I have a roommate and my room is painted an off-white and just really pretty. Their activities are wonderful. We just had a prom, which was wonderful. Our room is nice, we have beds and they provide a TV and a closet. They're small, but it's nice and you can bring things from home or mementos. They provide furniture but with special permission, you can bring in some things from home. The food is revolting. The breakfast is good, but the rest of the food is not. The facility is old, it's been here for a long time so they need to upgrade a lot of stuff. It has mold in the buildings so I am not recommending it. We have some good employees and we have some bad ones. For activities, they make everything fun. We have bingo every week and we have activities every day. We do arts and crafts, a painting class, and a jewelry class. We have Bible studies and churches can come in. We also have wine and cheese once a month and this month we're going to have a penny auction. That's the best thing about this place. For me, that's the drawing card.

Terrible faculty, they leave residents unclean all day and night. They wont clean them and barely will feed them. Outside family/friends have to go everyday to help clean up and feed the resident.

Don’t test blood sugar on diabetic resident who has been here 20 days. Asked for blood sugar to be checked before lunch, have been waiting 3 hours. Leave residents sitting all day on weekends. Decor has been the same since 1982. Disgusting baseboards, peeling paint. So many staff members have quit there is no longer a standard quality of care. Do NOT leave your loved ones here.

My father was placed here for rehab after a long hospital stay. The therapists there are great! The CNAs and nurses made sure my father was clean and comfortable during the day. Unfortunately he declined because of a long-standing medical condition. Hospice was able to be consulted through their Medical Director, who rounds regularly. The hospice nurses that come out are also wonderful! I was very impressed with the care and easy transitions while my father was there.

Lagrange Nursing & Rehab Center is clean, and I have no problems with it. The staff is always nice. Mom is receiving the best care she can get. They have bingo, they have an Elvis impersonator there today, and they have cookouts. Mom's room is nice for a nursing home, and they cleaned her room the last time I was there. The food is good, too.

When I was a senior in high school, part of my graduation requirements was that I had to do 60 hours of community service over the course of the year. I chose the LaGrange Nursing and Rehab Center because I used to have a couple of relatives that were placed there. My position there was Assistant Coordinator of Activities, and my job was to help set up the games and activities for the residents to do for recreation. I found the staff to be quite attentive to the needs of the residents, and the orderlies kept everything nice and clean. There were always plenty of staff on-hand for any emergency or need. The grounds were always clean and free of litter, the hallways and bathrooms were spotless. The staff seemed to get very attached to "their" resident, and that affection was very evident during my stay. When a resident would pass on, I could see how that affected the staff; they would wear black for the day and the atmosphere would be very mournful. Overall, if I had to be placed in a nursing home, I could do a lot worse than here.
