I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

When my mom came in she was welcome with open arms. Mom’s room is nice, clean and the staff is great! It took her a couple of days to get used to it but now is very comfortable here. There is one staff member Morgan that she loves and is very gentle with her and makes her feel at home. She has gone above and beyond taking care of her. And she loves the food. And what the family likes the most we can be here with her most of the time. I would highly recommend Ross Memorial.

My husband was at Ross Memorial Health Care Center for a month. The layout of the facility was fine. They had activities available. The rooms were small, but they were OK. They had a lot of staff, but some of them didn't seem to be well-trained.

Trying to care for a family member at the facility and phone calls and emails go unanswered. Had to ask multiple times for my family member to receive a bath. After going multiple days with out one. We have been told lies about our family member who is fully cognitive and there for rehab. The PT team discusses other patients while treating others. They have given inaccurate information regarding medication and fail to bring my family member water when requested.

My mom is in Ross Memorial Health Care Center for rehab. She's been doing OK. I couldn't care less for them. She said the food is good, but the staff doesn't seem like they really know what's going on. The doctor hasn't even discussed anything with the surgeon. He's treating her like she's supposed to be up walking, and that's not the rehab she's getting. They're very disconnected, and they do not communicate at all with the family members. My mother isn't able to do the activities because she can't walk.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

BEWARE... at the end of May this facility had about 37 PATIENTS INFECTED WITH CORONA VIRUS AND MORE THAN 10 EMPLOYEES!!!! This place is a center of COVID 19 VIRUS and they never told us, the previous residents, when they got the first infected patient. Had we known this, we would have taken our mother out to protect her from the focus of infection. Our mother went to this facility and stayed there for almost 2 years. While there, she was treated well and was well taken care of. However, after the lock down due to the Corona virus, they acted incredibly wrong not informing us (the relatives) that there had been an outbreak of Corona virus at their facility, had they done it, we would have taken our mother out of there to protect her. We thought this would be the safest place for my mom during this time. So, they hid this information and therefore, took away the power to choose from us, the relatives of the patients, and finally after two or three weeks of having infected patients, they finally told us. By then, it was too late. Our mother was already infected. They tested her on a friday, and by monday they told us she was infected, but asymptomatic and doing fine. That afternoon we went to see her, and found her in terrible conditions. According to them, she was sleeping and there was no need to disturb her. But we insisted on seeing her. When they finally open the window for us to see her, we saw a horrific and disturbing picture. She was skin on bones, she looked like somebody from a concentration camp in World War II, with a greyish tint on her face, and gasping for air. .. and NOBODY WAS DOING ANYTHING.. we screamed and asked them to call an ambulance.. which they only did at out request... otherwise, my mother would have died there that evening. When she got to the hospital, we were told that evening that our mother was in a "SEVERE STATE OF DEHYDRATION AND MALNUTRITION"..and as anyone knows, that doesn't happen overnight, no, not even with the Corona virus!! This was a total case of negligence on the part of this facility, who where letting our mother die without second thoughts... our mother died 5 days later, at the hospital due to her extreme weakness and COVID complications.

“Dr.” Mumtaz is a joke! All she does is dose the patients to sleep. I got my mother out of there after 2 weeks of "rehabilitation". This place is a freaking joke!!! Don't take any loved one there if you really care for that person. All they do is suck off of Medicare. They (under Dr.'s) orders overdose their patients. I feel really, really sad for the elderly that have to withstand this place. Also for the"nurses" who have to obey the "Dr.s" orders. Steer clear.

My mother went to Ross Memorial Health Care Center twice. Her rehab there was good. They did what they were supposed to do and got her up walking with a walker. The facility was old and needs to be renovated. They followed the doctor's instructions and gave her pureed food. When she was able to tolerate regular food, they did that too. They helped her eat when she needed it.

My Mother was taken into this facility after a second stroke in April 2015. She was in a different facility first for 2 weeks, right across from Kennestore, for rehab and had an incredibly bad experience where she was sent to the hospital with double pneumonia. After her hospital stay, I found this place and toured it before putting her there. They were absolutely wonderful. Because of her health she was in a room by herself. The nurses and rehab staff loved her. She passed in May of 2015 there and they were so incredibly great, I cannot thank them enough. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM.

I am only not using a rating of poor because I have no other facility to compare them to at this point. I am a family member. My mother was in this center for rehabilitation and I spent a lot of time in the facility with her. It was not a good experience. I will only document what I know is fact. 1. I was told that the rehab patients were separated from the long term care patients. The first night my mother was placed in a room with a dementia patient who continuously called out for the nurses and asked us to help her. My mother was later moved to another room. 2. After discharge, her doctor told me he called the facility to complain because they did not notify him of my mother's condition. 3. When we were leaving, one of the employees closed the door and told me that the reason my mother did not receive adequate rehab was because they had turned the entire department over to the state. She said the previous rehab employees were wonderful but now they were having issues. My mother was very unhappy here. Her complaints primarily centered on night care.

I visited this facility

I toured Ross Memorial. It is an older nursing home, but I like it. I like that they had all these sitting areas for people. They had different rooms, and I like that. They did look like hospital rooms, but they did have different situations that you can choose from to fit your needs. They had like bedroom areas and a shared bathroom, but yet each room was separate from the other room. They also had pretty outdoor areas. The staff was very friendly and very busy.

I am a friend or relative of a resident

We were very pleased with the administration of Ross Memorial Health Care Center, as well as with the nursing staff. One of the reasons we chose it was because they were the closest one to our house, so that made it very convenient for me to visit my wife there. But we would not have gone there if we didn't think it was a good facility, and it proved to be a very fine facility. They keep it very clean.

I visited this facility

Ross Memorial Health Care Center would have been a very good place for my father, but they just didn't have a space for him. The facility is nice and clean. The rooms were big and the residents seemed content.
