My mother-in-law has resided here for the last 6 months. Despite her limited English (she's Japanese), the staff has gone out of their way to communicate and make her feel "very special" and comfortable. My wife and I have visited her at all hours and I've never heard a staff member use harsh or condescending language to any of the residents. The residents have always been treated with respect. We've had numerous interactions with the staff and the administration. I can only give them the highest marks for their demonstrated care and concern for the well being of our Mother. The staff dispenses their smiles, hugs and infinite patience. I know they really care. We have carefully considered moving her to an assisted care facility but have decided she should remain there for all these reasons. I would like to thank the thoughtful staff for smoothly transitioning our Mother to her new home. .

My husband was a patient, there in 2022. He didn't receive the care and attention, he deserved. The staff basically ignored wants and needs of the patients. The aides, ignored the call buttons, sat in at the central desk. ignoring lights blinking. The food was not good , patients seemed, to get the same thing. Not diabetic, if needed. I asked for help to change my husband. The aide looked at me. And said "just as soon as I change these sheets." He came out put sheets in laundry, looked at me again. And turned his back, walked off. He didn't return. I changed my husband, myself. I WOULD NOT TAKE MY DOG THERE!!! It's too late for my husband, but I pray changes have been made . Watch out for your love ones.

I put my Mom in this place thinking they were one of the better places, well come to find out I had made a very bad mistake. When she was there the first night she asked for her medicine. They told her it would be a couple of days before their medicine came in. I wondered why that was.... Well she was there for almost a week and had not received ANY of her medication Someone who has been taking her meds all these years and then you just stop them!!!!!! Well it caused her to go into withdrawals. Her heart was pounding out of her chest and her blood pressure was very very high. Why? Because she was not getting her medicine. The nurses went to get some machine (which no one can tell me what kind of machine) and when they could not get it to work they panicked and everyone was yelling for another one. In he meantime they shoved my Mom in a corner and left her there laying flat when she couldn't breath. Asked someone to raise her head up and no one did a thing. She was sent there to receive help not almost kill her. Very unprofessional if you ask me. So when she gets out of the hospital she will not be going back to that place and i will never recommend this place to anyone.

My dad was at Bell Minor for 3 weeks, and during the 3 weeks he was there, they didn't help him or assist him with taking a bath. He only had a bath once in those three weeks. Dad has a prosthetic leg, so he called for the nurse to assist him in getting up to go to the restroom, and the nurse replied, "Go ahead and use it or you sit, and I'll come and dry you." Well, that didn't happen, and that was around 12 midnight and I think he laid there in his own urine for like two hours until the shift change. And I didn't know this until after he left because during Covid, we couldn't go in and visit. We could have phone visits through a glass door, but there was no privacy, right behind him was the receptionist desk and other residents were nearby, so we had no private conversations with him, but that's what happened. On top of that, we bought my dad all new clothes when he went to The Bell Minor and 13 items were missing. He had new T-shirts, new shorts, and we took him some flowers in a vase, I know the flowers died but we didn't get the vase back either. I reached out to one of the ladies via email and I left two phone messages and to this day, she has not returned my call back. Dad left on February 4th, and immediately went to the assisted living home where he is at now. But I spoke to the lady in the laundry department and she was able to retrieve 4 shorts, 3 T-shirts, and 3 pairs of socks, so we're still missing a T-shirt, a sock, and the vase that his flowers came in, but they didn't acknowledge it or anything. The staff that works there, they just seemed to not care at all, and they didn't give attention to the residents and not to my dad. Dad also had a pair of new sweatpants and pajamas missing because when we knew that he was going we bought something loose fitting because he was going to be doing rehab. So when he went to an assisted living, we bought all new clothes again because he didn't have any. The only thing he had was what he was wearing as far as his underwear and stuff, and three other pairs of pants and some shirts, but all the new clothes weren't in his things. Also we were told that when we bring his things to put his name in everything, we took a black permanent marker and we marked his name in every piece of clothing that he had. Even in the black shirt, we went out and purchased the white stitched it in, and we wrote his name in it. So his name is in every piece of clothing that he took with him to Bell Minor. We took a picture of all of his clothes to ensure that we get everything back. I sent the pictures of the brand new clothes that we took to the lady that works in the laundry, and she found all of them except for one diabetic sock and one T-shirt.

My father was there for therapy. The facility was under lock down due to the virus. We had no control of what was happening to our dad. When he left the hospital to go into the facility he weighed 138 pound from what the hospital told us. At his death he weighed 110. He was supposed to come home on August 11. He died August 7. We were told wrong by the nurses about his weigh. No one told us about his condition. They should had sent him to the hospital knowing he was in bad shape. Instead they let his condition get worse. On August 7 they finally sent him to the hospital because he was unresponsive. At the hospital the doctor informed us he was highly dehydrated and only weighed 110. Our dad past a way that night. I don’t recommend this place. Our father did not deserve the treatment he got from them . I blame the staff . We called everyday to check on our dad. We were not told the truth.

My Mother is in the home. During this Covid outbreak she has stayed in her same PJ's for days. No more dressing them everyday,She hasn't had a bath in 3 weeks. No activites, no outsiders, no dining room eating. The staff has become Very Lazy with no outside eyes watching. I even had someone Scream at me yesterday, literally scream because I knocked on the door and asked for help with my mom. Someone needs to be on top of the employees

Bell-Minor Home is excellent. They have plenty of caregivers. My dad likes the food. The level of care is a lot better there. It is a nursing facility instead of assisted living though. Everybody is on top of everything, and the administrators know what is going on. It is run very well, and it’s very neat and clean.

This is the rudest place I have ever spoken with. I left two messages with the admissions person over a period of time. We weren't really ready to go into a nursing home, so I never pursued it. About 2 months ago I thought I was at their website and set up an on-line appointment to come and visit (I have subsequently found out Bell Minor does not have an on-line set up for appointments, so I'm not sure where I was). Today I called first thing in the morning and the person who answered said we needed to talk with admissions. I left a message and about 3 hours later called because I had not heard back and my husband and I were thinking about driving up tomorrow to take a look. The person referred me to admissions and before she could transfer me I explained that I had left a prior message and since I hadn't heard back was it ok to just drive up there. Next thing I know, the admissions person comes on the line. She tells me that she got my message from earlier but she was the only one in admissions and sometimes it might take 2-3 weeks for her to return a call. Seriously?? Then she says she doesn't have a room for a female. I said, this is not for me but for my husband. Her tone was nasty and she ended with saying, I can't help you, and hung up on me. I was just stunned. If this is how this nursing home operates, I wouldn't want my husband there anyway.

The staff at Bell Minor just left my mother-in-law in one area with a TV and I talked to them about that. I told them that there must be some kind of activity she could do. They told me that they have activities, but I have never seen them do anything. Maybe they have some activities for some people who are responsive. When we visited her there, we need to push her wheelchair around and take her for a walk. I think they should do some activities because they are expensive. I would not recommend this place.

This is the worst place for your loved one. They do not take care of them. They will sometimes get them out of bed. They sit in theie own poop and urine all day. They do not get the proper care as far as what they are suppose to eat or drink. They will fall and you will never know it. They are given Meds. that will knock them out so that they will not be a bother to the staff. They do NOT get taken care of at all. Have to stay on them 24/7 to get them to do anything.
