I was a patient in the rehab section of Shamrock Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center for two months in early 2018. I was very impressed with the professionalism and compassion of all staff members with whom I came in contact -- nursing, housekeeping, dietary, rehabilitation, and front office. The facility was extremely clean, with absolutely no odor often associated with nursing homes and rehabilitation centers. The meals were excellent; definitely a cut above standard institutional food. A full-time activities director coordinates a wide range of activities to help residents and patients have something to look forwd to and pass the time. I would not hesitate to recommend Shamrock to anyone interested in a nursing home or in an inpatient rehabilitation center.

What I liked most about Shamrock Nursing & Rehab Center was that it was close to where I was living. So, that made it easy to go visit my family member when she was there. The staff was friendly, especially the kitchen staff, and they were nice and friendly to her and she enjoyed the meals. The facility was livable. It wasn't anything outstanding. It was like an older building, but it was clean. I guess they could use a little bit of improvement in the rooms. The furniture is old and outdated. Her stay was OK. Her roommate was nice and I was satisfied with them. They had entertainment and they played bingo. So, they had a little activity and she enjoyed that. They were just understaffed.

Shamrock Nursing and Rehab Center wasn't that good, but they did the best they can. She was there only for a day and they wanted to send her to some place else the next day. The rooms needed some upkeep. They had meals and the dining area was open. Some ate in that little dining area and some ate in their rooms. The staff was okay.

Nursing homes always have such a strange prescense to them. I guess it's the thought of all of the elderly people who are trapped in them under the care of others that offsets it. This nursing home facility wasn't like this though. When you walked in, it felt as if you were walking into a family get together. The staff was very friendly and you could tell it positively affected the patients. My grandmother was in good hands at this location, and I'm certain that if the time ever comes I will hope that this facility is still under these conditions so I know I am living a happy life.
