The Oaks at Douglasville takes great care of my loved one! The staff is so patient and attentive to my loved one. The Oaks is far superior to two other AL/Memory care facilities we have experience with in the area. I LOVE the fact they have so many activities that they include both Horizons (memory care) and AL (assisted living) residents together. They take bus rides and attend concerts- it is wonderful! The food is quite good and they always have snacks and make treats where the residents make their own parfait or ice cream sundae. On the rare occasion I have a concern - it is immediately addressed! I have comfort knowing my loved one is being so very well taken care of!

The tour we had of the Oaks at Douglasville was great. It's very nice, and the people were very nice too. Everything is organized. They showed us around assisted living and the rooms we saw had appliances like a refrigerator and microwave. The person who took us around was very nice. They had some nice outdoor areas to sit in, like the big patio we saw.

My mom will be moving into Oaks at Douglasville. I like that they only require my mom to stay for two weeks for respite instead of an entire month. The apartment has a bed, a little living area space, a bathroom, and a small kitchenette with a refrigerator. There's no stove or anything like that. The staff members were very friendly. They serve three meals a day.

I visited Oaks at Douglasville. It was clean and spacious. The one room I liked, they said I could hang things on the wall if I wanted to. They showed me the activities room. We went to the dining room, which was set up. They showed me the physical therapy room and the all-activities room. The staff was very friendly and the residents were friendly. They're comfortable and they were glad to be there. The staff was very hospitable and when you pass by the housekeeping staff, they speak to you nice and sweet.

My father has moved into Oaks at Douglasville. The outside looks great. The inside is kept very well. Nice and clean facilities. The decor is nice and up-to-date. It's a really nice facility. So far, all the staff members are very, very nice, and cordial. He feels very comfortable there. They look out for him and they are very informative. They communicate really well, tell me if there's anything going on, and make suggestions. So far, my dad has enjoyed the daily exercise routine. He likes the yoga chair exercises. They do a lot of music type engagement, dancing, things of that sort. The memory care people are kept in a different location, and the food is brought over. It's not real dining. He says the food is OK. I haven't really seen them do a whole lot. I've talked to my dad quite often, and so far he's mentioned that all he's done is just exercising. Their outings haven't occurred as frequently as I thought they would. I thought they would go out at least once a week, and that hasn't happened.

Oaks at Douglasville is very close to me. My daughter had a good vibe about the place. I couldn't say everything about one employee, because to me, the night shift is not as good as the day shift. Mom has not been there about a week, so it would be harder to rate the staff, but I would rate them all the same. They have activities, but they never come and get Mom for it. I've never seen them, while I was there, to get her for an activity. They have an in-house therapist. They have two courtyards and they can go in the assisted living courtyard or they can go in the one that is closed in, the memory care area, where Mom is. Food is to be a little desired. It's hard for the seniors to eat at this stage, and a lot of the things that they're serving, like the chickens being dry, is hard for older people that have memory issues to chew that stuff. The course can't have knives, so they have to pick it up with their fingers and they eat it. Some of the food is OK, but they don't offer a wide variety in the memory care. It's located near a hospital, restaurants, and shopping malls.

The staff at Oaks at Douglasville gave us a tour of the entire facility, the memory care, assisted living, and everything. They're nice. My mom has dementia and I believe that memory care is what's going to be needed. The facilities were very impressive. The staff was extremely cordial and very, very nice. I was very impressed. The amenities were great. They had walk-in showers and handles everywhere, which is good for your elderly parent, to keep them safe and so they can maneuver well. They have something for them every day. They had a calendar on display in one of the main areas of the facility, so you could see what was planned for the residents daily. It was a full calendar. I saw a resident eating and the food looked delicious. They had au Gratin potatoes and short ribs. It was top-notch. Jamie gave us the tour and the way he interacted with the residents, as we were touring, was wonderful. I loved it.

The Oaks at Douglasville is a beautiful place. The rooms had good space. I was given information about the level of care that would be included. The person who interviewed me was very good at providing the kind of information that would be helpful in making a decision. The activity level and things that they do are great. The person I spoke with was clear in terms of what they did and the service that was being provided. I think it was a very good place. I was happy to see that even though they have a menu for a particular meal on a particular day or time, the residents have alternatives. If there's something that they didn't like, they had the option of a nice broad amount of food that they could get.

Oaks at Douglasville is a pretty facility. The people were nice. When you enter the room, it is very impressive. It is very clean. It is very pretty, and it makes a statement when you walk in. The building is very pretty. In the memory care, the staff walked me out. They have their own courtyard. It is never locked, and they can come in and out. It is totally enclosed, so they cannot get lost. They have the freedom of coming in and out of that space on their own. It is very pretty. They have a patio.

I didn't like their setup at Oaks at Douglasville. As soon as you come in the front door, that is the only area that they had a community area to watch TV or to sit for the residents. It just seemed very small, and it didn't seem welcoming. It's almost like a luxury place that you're not even supposed to be sitting in there. It didn't look like something that they would feel comfortable or laid back and relaxed to be able to watch TV at all. I didn't like the fact that the rooms that they give you were somewhat small. They do not allow them to have a stove or anything in there. So, the only way they can eat their food is in the microwave. The staff was very polite and very informative. They showed me everywhere that there was that I was allowed to see. Of course, I couldn't go into the memory care part, but they did show me where everything was located and was very attentive. As far as their pricing is concerned, they have four levels. So, the first two levels, then the three and four. If you're on level one or two, then it's not included in your monthly cost for you to have the Internet or cable, you have to pay extra for that. They don't do your laundry if you're on level one or two, you have to pay extra for that. For what they're charging, all of that should be included as part of their monthly payment.

The Oaks at Douglasville was really, really the nicest place. I was very impressed with that place and the kind of services that they've provided. They were very nice and very well equipped. It was clean and spotless. It was a very nice facility. The rooms were spacious. The apartments were great. The grounds are beautiful, and the building is new. We came on an unexpected visit. We were assisted by the community director, who didn't know we were coming. She was very nice in assisting us through and pointing out all of the things that I had actually missed before, so it was great. They had an activity facility, a movie theater, a gym, and physical therapy that they offer at the facility. They had a putting green at the facility, outside the windows of the restaurant or the kitchen. They had a baby grand piano in the lobby that people could use, so it was nice. The location was superb. It's only maybe a mile and a half from my home.

My husband is staying at Oaks at Douglasville, and it's a very nice facility. It's new. The rooms are large, and the food is really good because my husband has gone from a 32 to a 34 waistline (so he recommends the food). The staff seems very friendly and very caring; so yes, I've enjoyed him being there. It's a very nice sized room, and the bathroom has a very wide door (so it's easy in and easy out). Some of the facilities I've looked at did not have such a large room, so I appreciate having the larger room. The maintenance and upkeep are good. The staff is very friendly and very helpful. They have an activities director in the memory care. She tries to find an interest for each resident, something that she can do with them on a level of what their interest is. He has his golf, so she's got a little golf set that she uses for him. The facility is really nice. They have a huge family room with a big TV and probably six or seven couches for the residents. They have a dining area. They have an arts and crafts room. They have a TV media room for watching movies and a big fireplace in their family area. Then they have a nice outside that is well kept. The building is only two years old, so it's still very nice.
