We chose Medlock Gardens for my brother because we like their welcoming attitude. They just had a wonderful attitude, the place had a nice feel about it, and it seemed like they were very caring and supportive, and thoughtful. They have people who come in to do hair and stuff like that, it's a small facility. So it's like you're going to an apartment house, and everybody has either a balcony or an outside area that they can go sit in from their rooms. There's a little hidden garden in the back they can go to, it's very nice.

Medlock Gardens was very nice. I met with the business manager there, Deidre. When I arrived, all the staff was very friendly and very welcoming. The facility was very pretty. It was fresh and clean. It didn't have any odors or anything. It was well-kept. The young lady that assisted me on the tour was very patient. She was very resourceful. She had a wealth of information. She described and showed me everything. I didn't have an opportunity to try the food, but they did invite me back at a later date when I had more time if I wanted to. The dining area looked very nice. The residents that I did see were of varying ages, but they looked happy from what I could see. Dinner and a Movie is one of the recreational activities when I did the tour, so I thought that was very nice. It was very intimate and inviting. It had a nice, homey feel.

I toured Medlock Gardens. The individuals in the office were excellent, very professional, and they gave me very good vibes. They seemed to have quite a bit of good character about them, so I was impressed. It's old, so the rooms reflect the age of the building. The dining facilities appeared to be appropriate, nice, and homey. The room is adequate; it's just that the facility is old. They appear to offer a fair number of amenities. They were playing bingo while I was there.

I really can't express enough how this facility over exceeded my expectations. From the moment I first visited with the need to find a place for my Mom and Aunt, I felt completely at ease and confident that I had found a warm and loving place for them. Serita , the director and LaDreama the nursing director went out of their way to address all my concerns and at all times I felt their commitment to make my Mother and Aunt's stay the best experience possible. All of the caregivers at Medlock show a special level of care to the residents and the result is a very warm and family like enviornment . I would not hesitate to recommend Medlock Gardens to anyone looking for help with their loved ones in time of need.

I went to look at Medlock Gardens. The first thing I noticed was the size, which was fairly large but fairly small for a community. It was a very nice place. It reminded me of a hotel, but it was a residential facility. It was very cozy. The only thing for me was it was too expensive. The staff members were very helpful because they described the community perfectly. They made me feel like they cared about the residents. The dining area was more than adequate. I believe they had a small library.

Choosing a place for your parent is not easy, but we were so lucky to have found Medlock gardens. They went above and beyond in being kind and helpful for our Dad. The staff makes the difference. The facility is not large, but the rooms are studios and updated. Many have an outside patio. The chef worked hard to make things our dad liked. As we needed hospice at the end, when they were not available one of the aids worked with us to stay by his side 24/7. They made all the difference. I can definitely recommend this is a good environment for your loved ones.

The ambiance of Medlock is like living in a large mansion. Dining feels like a very nice restaurant with tablecloths and silver. It always smells good at mealtime in Medlock. My Mom has been a resident for almost 4 years. She is will be 100 years old in 3 years. Their protocols were strict during the pandemic. The staff worked very hard to care for the residents during that time and now we are grateful to the staff that we are just about to be clear to visit WITH HUGS. The staff is always very helpful and transparent when it comes to even the smallest of my Mom's needs are wants. I appreciate that because I want her to have anything tat will make her happy.

My wife has been there for eight years and has been pleased with the caregivers and surroundings. It has a small home life setting and the residents are treated like family. The food has been good and the caregivers are personable and friendly. I particularly like the smaller facility and the quiet neighborhood.

My mother lived in Medlock Gardens for a while, but it started going downhill big time. She got very frustrated with the fact that they were micromanaging her medicines and her other stuff, which is what assisted living does. I don't think either of us understood that. She thought she could bring all her stuff. Plus, the food was terrible, she was flushing it down the toilet or tossing it out. In general there were one or two staff members she didn't like, but otherwise they're quite helpful to her. Except for the fact that she would get sick from the food and get really scared and then she wanted to call 911 and was terrified, but they didn't have a nurse overnight and there was supposed to be more care. She was very upset by that. She didn't have trouble with the staff. There was a very helpful guy who fixed things for her constantly. For assisted living, it was probably the least expensive of all. I would say it's a deal if people can eat that kind of food.

I placed my husband at Medlock Gardens. Its okay, and he seems happy enough. Its an old facility, he has a larage, single room, with screened-in patio, and he can go outside to the gardens right there. He doesnt participate in activities, hes not happy with the food, but the staff seems accommodating. They have transportation for the residents, they have someone who comes in and does hair once a week, and they have a little game room.

Medlock Gardens was OK, but I didn’t like it. She had bowel issues, and I smelled like urine. I want to make sure how often they were helping the cleaning situation there. The grounds were clean, and the staff was very friendly. I just noticed the urine smell; I don’t know what was going on that day. The dining area was clean, and there’s round tables in it.

Me and my church group went to Medlock Gardens in Decatur. I like that this was a much smaller group. I think they have 100 beds. They have two floors. I love that it was small and quaint. With the staff, there was a lot of longevity, so they really know the patients.
