I toured Griffin House. What I liked about it was the homey feeling. It didn't seem sterile. The staff were very friendly. It's an older building, but it was clean, some of the rooms were a little on the small side, but then some of the rooms were very large.

My Angels sent from Heaven above! I am forever grateful for Ms. Pat & all the staff including Hospice at The Griffin House, this is not your ordinary facility, the name says it all House because it’s exactly like a House or a Home. The Griffin House (Ms. Pat my Angel) took my father in on short notice and made him feel so welcome and comfortable during his final days, so thankful he could be at peace & relax and most of all feel loved & cared for, forever grateful Tricky’s Family!
TOTALLY DISGUSTED AND UNHAPPY

The rooms are dirty. When I visited my parent I had to tell the person working to clean my parent up. When they were told that my parent had a bed sore and given instructions on what the Dr. prescribed they did not follow directions. Parent gained another bed sore. When parent needed eye meds given twice daily, parent would not always get it nor would they keep my parents nails cleaned so they would not get dirt in the eye. We moved my parent to another facility and they were shocked at how my parent was being taken care of.

Griffin House doesn't take long-term patients there. With my aunt's situation, she needs all-around help with washing, bathing, and getting dressed, so I can't transfer her there. Nevertheless, it was a nice and clean facility, and I know they would do the best they could, if I could get her there. The staff was very nice. She keeps in touch with me and she asks how things are going. It's modern, really big, and it's nice inside. The dining room is nice, well lighted, and cafeteria style.

I went on an in-person tour at Griffin House. They were very nice. It was a nice facility. They let me see the whole facility and all the rooms. The staff member was very professional. The facility was nice and clean. The residents were nice and clean, too. They told me a lot of stuff. They had nice studio rooms. The staff member showed me another part where the rooms have bathrooms in them. Overall, it was very nice.

Griffin house is a small and quiet facility in a small and quiet town. I liked it because southern hospitality permeates the walls of this place. The residents (all of whom are women) treat the staff like their daughters and it is common to see them sitting on the porch gossiping about old times. The staff is caring, courteous and cheerful and if I was to grade them, I would give them five stars. The facility was also clean and very handicap accessible. The foods and snacks served to the residents are fresh and well cooked. All the residents were clean, had clean clothes and looked as well taken care of and healthy as can be expected in their various conditions. The only thing that detracts from this facility is the location. The front part of the building faces the parking lot and is blocked by the courthouse of the further side. The other side faces someone's backyard. So residents cannot enjoy nature and its peacefulness. The building also does not have grounds to speak of taking a nice walk on the grass is therefore out of the question. But all in all Griffin house is a very quaint place. You wouldn't know you were in an assisted living facility until you walk right through the door.

They weren't the best but they weren't the worst. They took very good care of my great-aunt but they were impersonal and occasionally rude. It was a long drive from where I live but there was not an assisted living facility in my town that we would have even looked at letting her stay in so this was our best choice for her. It was very clean and she was never injured there. We appreciated the level of care she was offered during her two stays there. She never had a complaint except that the air condition was kept too cold for her liking, but that wasn't a real problem. As far as I could tell there were no major issues. I would not think twice to put another relative there over most other assisting living facilities. It is beyond a shadow of a doubt the best one that is around where I live and I am glad we made the choice to have my great-aunt stay there.
