My mother has been a resident for the past 4 years at Townsend Park. She made the transition from Assisted Living and has never been happier. She feels like she’s surrounded by family. Everyone there treats her like she’s a guest. She loves it! As you walk through the facility you will see how well kept it is. No trash on the floors. No foul odor. Very different than others I have been in. I can’t say enough good things about the staff.

For over a year, it appears they are horribly understaffed and patients are ignored for more than 30-40 min for basic requests for water, or pain. - and to complicate that, many of the staff ignore patients pleading for bathroom assistance or other fundamental services they are paying for AND should be part of any healthcare provider's compassion and responsibility. If you have an advocate there, every day, it would be okay - but then, what are you paying for? Appears food and meals are well balanced and care is given to chewing concerns. Facility is clean. Laundry is hit /miss. Many "lost" or mislaid items that take months to find even though names are on them. The residents are actually the best part of the facility. Many long-time Cartersville families - represent the facility well. Some of the staff are downright rude and inconsiderate to visitors and to some of the residents, making for an unwelcoming environment, However, most residents family members are very welcoming and encouraging.to other guests and seem to take them under their wing in how to get around. From candid conversations, many families have concerns about whether adequate time is spent with the residents and also about staff responses to the concerns of residents.- especially after hours. This facility is preparing to relocate to a new building with many ammenities, however, It would be a very wise decision on management's part to either meet the needs of the patients they currently have, or figure out who to hire that can. I would shop around for the "right" loving and compassionate care. The "Golden Rule"kind of care.

I was pleased with Cartersville because NOT ONLY do they offer influenza and Pneumococcal vaccinations to all long term clients but short term as well. Alot of homes would require short terms to get there own shots.
