My mom is in Brookdale Carrollton. It's excellent. I like the place. I tell my kids I want to go there. The facilities and amenities are wonderful. It's very well taken care of. I couldn't be happier. They take my mom on trips, assist her in finding the dining room, and help her with her meds. For the most part, I haven't had any trouble with the staff; it has all been very good. They have amazing food and do a lot of activities; however, maybe they can do more reminders for people who forget that they do those activities. It's so expensive, and they charge for every little thing.

Brookdale Carrollton is the one I like the best. They seem to have what my dad needed. And they explained everything better to us than the other did. The food smelled good, too. The apartment we saw would be basically for a single adult man. I think it was great. It's all he needs. It was where he could move around and do what he needed to do. They showed us the big gathering room where they have activities. They showed us the dining room, and they have a library and things like that, too. It was clean. The staff members were great.

I went to Brookdale Carrollton. It was pleasant, the staff and stuff was nice, and everything. They have more variety, and different sizes of rooms to choose from, and they are still good size rooms and clean. Everyone seemed to be happy, and it seemed to be a good place. They had a movie night, games, and activities. They had patio space for the tenants, and they had laundry service. She said it was free for now, but the fees will probably be reinstated. They also had a salon. It seemed to be laid out pretty good and seems to have a flow.

Brookdale Carrollton was very clean. There were no bad smells. The grounds were very neat and they had a library, which I thought was a bonus. We were shown the dining room and we were offered to come back and have a meal with my mother. The food smelled wonderful though. The lady who showed us around was very knowledgeable. We toured through the building and I liked the rooms. They had little kitchenettes in them and nice size bathrooms.

I visited Brookdale Carrollton, and they were very, very helpful and answered our questions. They actually came to the hospital to see my brother, but he needed more care than what they could provide. I would definitely recommend them. The place was pretty good, pretty, and was clean. The rooms were easy to get to, and I think it's pretty well laid out.

Brookdale was the one my sister loved the most, but it was the most expensive one we visited. The room was wonderful and nicely laid out, and they had a dining facility that opened in the morning and closed at night. The people can go in any time of the day to eat. They had a very nice garden area. They were really friendly and helpful but charged extra for every little thing.

I've chosen Brookdale Carrollton. It's a large, beautiful, two-story brick building with a lot of activities going on to keep the residents very busy and stimulated. My aunt's room is beautiful. It's unfurnished, and I had to buy the furniture, which is fine. They completely replaced the carpet and repainted the walls. It looked like a brand-new facility when she moved in, and I think it's very nice. They have nice kitchenettes. The staff and directors were very nice and included professional nurses on staff. They have a wonderful chef. One of the things that I really liked about them that stood out was their feeding facility. They have an upstairs dining room open from 7:00 in the morning to 6:00 at night, and you can eat anytime during that period. They have snacks 24 hours a day, but you can eat off the grill in a 14-hour period.

My parents have moved into Brookdale Carrollton, and our experience has been good. The rooms and everyone are nice. The only problem I have is that I have little understanding about insulin administration, and the medical technician cannot give it to her. I understand that but not why they cannot assist or remind her to take insulin. I am going to have to get a different level of care for her because she does not remember to take her insulin, but it may just be a misunderstanding on my part. Other than that, everything is great. They have all kinds of activities like exercises, games, and happy hour. The staff is nice. If your parents are taking a lot of medication, make sure that you ask a lot of questions on the administration of the medications and know what level of care they need when they assess your parents. Make sure to ask as many questions as possible.

The rooms at Brookdale are nice. I like that my mom can have her privacy, yet she can get help if she needs it. It’s very nice.

Horizon Bay is a beautiful place. It's the top of the line in everything. They are super nice and super clean. The dining area is simply gorgeous. They have gourmet cooking. They have an exercise room and a library. Everything is super nice. It's something that you do not expect to see. I did get to see a couple of rooms and they were very nice. There are laundry facilities there. They have nursing if and where needed. There's 24-hour care. They have somebody there to help at any time. Everything is perfect including the decorations. I would recommend them to anybody.

We have looked into Horizon Bay. The staff was accommodating and helpful. The rooms were fine, but were kind of small. We were somewhat impressed, but at the same time, we knew that it had meals served with it so immediately it was a turn off because we were not interested in that kind of situation.

My dad was in Horizon Bay for nine days. It’s a nice facility, but we have to transfer him to another facility that’s locked down. The facility is clean, and the staff was very nice. The price is comparable with the others around. Everyone was nice during our tour there, and we were taken around the different areas of the facility.

My mother had some friends at Horizon Bay, and they were happy there, so she moved in there. The staff was very nice and very knowledgeable. Her room is fine; small, but she wanted it small. The food is good. They have a variety of food on the menu, and you can order off of them. They take them shopping, to eat, to church, they have bingo, all kinds of card games and bible study.

My in laws lived there and really enjoyed it. It was clean, very spacious (in most apts), the food was good, and the employees were very friendly. My niece worked in the kitchen as a server, working her way through college, and said they were very nice people to work for. The only reason we eventually had to move my in laws out was because he would wander off the premises. They did not have the memory ward like a lot of these places have. My only complaint was that they didn't have someone at the desk when you first go in and also that the bible studies took place in the front room. If you were coming to visit someone you would be walking right through the bible study or church service. I didn't understand why they didn't have a big room like that built to the back or upstairs of the building to give them privacy. But anyway when he wandered off he would walk way up to K-mart (a good distance) and get too hot in the summer. The last time he wandered off the police picked him up and brought him back. I told my husband if it happened enough they might turn him over to the police. So we finally moved him to the Benton House in Douglasville where they had a memory ward. We hated to move them because they were happy there, had made many friends and overall enjoyed living there. If your parent needs some assistance, social activities and someone else to cook for them then I very much recommend Horizon Bay but if they need more than that I recommend looking else where.

My mom used to stay at Horizon Bay and we thought it was the best place we had ever seen. She had an apartment there which was very nice. She was allowed to bring her own furniture. She had a small kitchen with a refrigerator and microwave. She had her own bath and her own TV. She had a recliner to her bed and a walk in closet. The staff was wonderful. When we first went to Horizon Bay everyone told us how good the food was and we met with the man who runs the kitchen and they would go up and ask you what you wanted for breakfast and that was wonderful. The food was excellent. They had their bus and they went on field trips. They went shopping and had their doctor's appointments. They had exercise rooms and they had bingo. She was very happy with Horizon Bay. But she got to the point that she could not look after herself. That's why she had to go to a nursing facility. We were heart broken when we had to move her. I would recommend Horizon Bay to others.

We are going to sign a lease on Horizon Bay for my mother within the next day or two. The place is very pleasant and clean. It's a happy place. Fifteen members of my mother's church are already there, so she has a lot of people she knows there. She seems to enjoy the place. It looks like the other residents are happy and quite content as well.

I'm positive to this. I love the way they had gaming tables, tv's and comfortable seats. Mostly I got fascinated by the whirlpool, and of course the spa. It's like everything is in one place, a little city of things. A dining room and even in a restaurant style way. Really lovely place to visit and very good "support" with 24/7 effort.

Horizon is a wonderful facility that is truly understands the need of the Geriatric community. The staff is compassionate and warm. The residents are happy, alert and bright. When the staff engages the residents you can see the care and compassion between them. The rooms are simply cozy and homey very spacious. The activities here will make a 30 year old tired. There are arts and crafts, movie, computer instruction, educations classes, gardening, golfing, bridge, Bingo to name a few. The grounds are beautiful and welcoming to relax and feel safe and secure. The cook here is talented and the foods are made from scratch so more healthy options are available. There are simply no problems I could find here. The facility is amazing and your loved one will be well cared for here.

This is a very nice and organized facility. My great grandmother was in this facility for over three years. She was very well taking care of. Every one of the care takers that I met was very nice and caring. Mary was one of the best people I have ever met in my life. There was a time when my great grandmother fell. They took her to the hospital and made sure I was notified. At least one of her care takers visited her each day until she was released from the hospital back to them. My great grandmother and whole family were very pleased with Horizon bay. The facility was very nice and the rooms were very spacious. The staff made sure that the place stayed clean. They would also get together and have events for all of the residents to get to know each other and have fun. I really appreciated all their help.
