I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My mother is currently at the Oaks Assisted Living. I am very pleased with the staff, and facility. The staff including the administrator are very nice , helpful and caring. I am so thankful she is there. The residents enjoy activities such as Bingo, crafts games, dining together and each Wednesday a visiting pastor and pianist come to the Oaks. The residents enjoy sitting on the beautiful porch as the weather permits. The residents are served three meals a day and a snack in the afternoon. The dining room is very pretty and has cloth tablecloths and cloth napkins. I have enjoyed getting to know the people there. It is a very nice and very clean facility.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My mom was at The Oaks at Scenic View and we were able to bring her back home. The nurses and all the staff that I came in contact with were very nice and very helpful. The facility was very clean. The only issue I had was that in some of the rooms they had three beds, which I thought was a little bit too crowded. They never had three people in the room with her, but there were three beds in there. The most that was in there was two people. They had a patio available. They did physical therapy with her to get her back up on her feet. Mom never liked the food because I guess it's kind of like hospital food. But from what I saw, it looked pretty good.

My mother is at The Oaks at Scenic View. It's been fine. It's nice and clean. They could use more staffing, but so could everybody in the world. The staff is very nice. The food is OK. She's having physical therapy and occupational therapy. She's in the rehab side, and they're working on getting her stronger. The courtyard is pretty.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My father-in-law was at The Oaks - Scenic View (Skilled Nursing) for rehab. At the time, with COVID, they were the only place that had an opening that could do the rehab, so we just took it because of that. We think they did a pretty good job. He was paralyzed on the left side and was making progress. He regained mobility in his left arm, and hand, and his leg. We were happy with it, but we were not allowed in, and it was very hard for us. In the beginning, they had him under observation most of the time, and then he moved into the rehab, had someone caring for him, but I don't know if it was constant. With us not being able to go in, I would have liked them calling more, giving daily reports of what was happening, and more communication from the staff. I don't think they have activities because of COVID. They have the residents kind of locked into different areas, but I'm sure they were very good. The back area was wonderful too. There were picnic tables, and it was just really natural and beautiful out there. That was really neat.

The Oaks at Scenic View is good and the staff is excellent. My mother-in-law has been in there for about two and a half months or so. She has had really good physical therapy and she has a private room. The physical therapists and doctors on staff are great.

I visited this facility

The facility was very clean. My grandfather was there after complications with Parkinson's disease. All of the staff were courteous, caring, and answered questions very well. The food was healthy, suited to what he needed, and no one minded helping him if he had trouble using his hands or anything. The physical therapy that he had to do was done properly, at his level, and with plenty of respect and caring. At no time was he treated rudely or like he was simply a number. He made friends there and while he never thought of it like home he did enjoy it enough that he wasn't devastated at being there. The biggest complaint I have is that the administrative staff were not as nice as the nursing staff. It was difficult to get straight answers about things like insurance or even when the doctor would be in. They often spoke down to myself, my mother, and my grandmother. We could have done without condescending attitudes but overall it's a great facility.
