I did go to Bellatage Assisted Living. I didn’t pursue it. My friend was there, and she was bored out of her mind that she wanted to go home. They didn’t have enough activities. I know they have a movie theater, but she was still determined to go home. The room was very nice. It was very nice and meticulously clean, but she wouldn’t stay there. They have a group lunchroom and a movie theater, but she was bored out of her mind. My friend did not like that place at all, even though it was meticulously clean, and they have updated appliances, which was very nice.

This is a scandalous place. They send representatives to the hospital and sell the facility to you like it's gold. They promise that your loved one will be taken care of very well but that is not the case. They are rude, abusive and careless. Less than 15 hours, I had to take my loved one out of this place due to suffering and being treated harshly. They placed my loved one in a diaper, which there was no need for and allowed them to sit in their own urine for 15 hours without changing. I was lied to about being able to visit. I was made to stand outside of the window where they were kept and made to speak on the phone. While waiting for their release, I had to call the facility 8 times, to aid my loved one. As all of this was transpiring in front of me, another family near the outside windows, were fighting the unjust treatment of their loved one. After several hours, they made me take my loved one out against medical leave, even though, I pulled them out due to their lack of medical attention that was needed for my loved one to recover. Yet, they made it seem like I was in the wrong. They never gave my loved one the correct medication and missed some as well. They made my loved ones recovery worse and left them unattended for long periods of time. As it says in their website, "Our highly experienced team gets residents back on their feet and back to life quickly and as safely as possible". This is total poppycock!!!!!!! They never aided my loved one and this I saw with my own eyes. They refused to give me names of individuals that were taking care of my loved one. They also mentioned that they could not due to the HIPPA laws, when the HIPPA laws are there to protect the patient NOT the facility. The nurse also "disappeared" and when asked about her, they said they'd never seen her before. If that's not terrifying, then I don't know what is. I heard over the phone, when the nurse spoke to my loved one saying in a repugnant tone, "Do it yourself", while my loved one asked for help. This place needs to be SHUT DOWN AND INVESTIGATED, please, again if you care about your loved ones, keep them safe and away from this place.

Unfortunately this facility has been on a steady decline since January 2016. The food is awful for the seniors it serves. Everything is from a can and nothing is fresh. My mother had hot dogs three times this past week! The staff is very nice but there is constant turnover. The activities are poorly run and virtually non-existent. The corporate office needs to wake up and give the residents the services that were originally offered before everyone leaves.
