My husband was in Life Care for a couple of weeks and I've been there for rehab too. They had a very good rehabilitation program. They had more activities than we really wanted. The food was good and we had free ice cream every day. The general care was good. There were two people in a room and it was very crowded. The staff and services were very good and very complete. It was one of the higher rated ones in Winter Haven. It's a very nice facility. They had crafts, games, learning opportunities, video, and movies. My husband had a swallowing problem and the therapist watched him eat and helped him to learn how to swallow better the whole time he was there.

A family friend recently had the unfortunate need to utilize this facility post hip replacement and to say that their staff is uncaring and unprofessional would be an understatement. This family friend was there for a week and a half without so much as a sponge bath and expected to lay in urine for 2 hours. Her roommate could not get out of bed quickly enough and had a BM and the nurse came into the room and screamed at her “why didn’t you get up”. I understand that the recruitment here is to just get bodies not actual “care” givers, but if you have anyone staying with this center you better be there daily to advocate for humane treatment. Our neighbor had her mother there and took her out after a week because of such horrible care. Don’t be fooled by the beauty of the building. Beautiful things are often ugly on the inside. It is a travesty that care this expensive is so lacking in professional staff practices.

Most horrible place ever! They wanted to schedule my poor dads bowel movements because they had to use a stand up hoier. Really? Who knows when a person has to go? Dirty place! Short on staff! Run and don’t look back! I had my dad transferred out of this horrible sad place! Food was awful too! Diabetics are given smaller quantities but not diabetic oriented food.

Outside the facility is beautiful it’s whats inside that concerns me. My family member was brought there no to long ago and I should of never stayed. I waited in the room for over a hour before some came in. When they did the tone of the persons voice made me feel like we was trash. Kelly from admissions was the one who recommended this place and I believed in her. Please be aware of this. The rooms are not upgraded as promised and the tv was older than dirt. Nursing staff took forever and let’s me say we arrived early and my father didn’t even get therapy. I was very disappointed in therapy dept. I feel that my father needs the basic like a shower , putting in clothes , how to use the bathroom and more . Therapy was a joke . I overheard therapy complaining that they don’t have time for long meeting because they are based of productivity. Well putting puzzles together and doing pegs is not what I needed for my father. I didn’t blame him for not wanting to go. I complained and never seen a manger come by. Let’s not forget the unit manager . She was so rude my father was in the 500 hallway and some of the nurses where excellent but some need to go back to school and learn a thing or two on customer service. Call light are not answered in a timely manner and when you looked down the hall it was deserted. The adminitrator of this building should leave. If you can’t control the basics in your building then don’t be there. I as a daughter of a current patient there recommend another facility. They are way behind in many things but the main thing is customer service. Food was great and I love the activities with Debbie. That was the only reason I gave this facility a one star.

This place has gone down hill fast! have a relative who has been there for a few years, and I don't know what happened to oi this past year! The place feels like a prison. The dozen or so doors located throughout the facility are always locked. I have no idea how anyone would get out of there in an emergency. Visitors are forced to go in and out the front door, which is a long walk to many rooms. There are a few pretty courtyards which are not accessible for use, because those door are locked. The staff consists of mostly miserable creatures who usually ignore the call bells and leave the residents laying in wet diapers for Hours. The smell of urine and feces as you walk down the hall is disgusting. It's common to see a miserable assistant drag around large bags of dirty adult diapers and garbage from room to room! The Supervisor in the Evening walks around like a Prison Guard checking doors. What a Horrible, Depressing Place to spend the last years, months and days of your life! Avoid this awful, miserable place!

Life Care was wonderful. My mother had been there for about five or six weeks. The staff was so good to her, attentive, and just wonderful. The double room was nice, very pleasant, and a good size. The meals and therapy were good and everything was really nice. The food was wonderful, fresh, and tasty. They took good care of her belongings so stuff did not disappear.

My father is in Life Care Center of Winter Haven. His room is very nice, bright and cheery. They have a social room for ice cream, specialty coffees, and snacks. They're very high-class and top-of-the-line as far as care. The patients are motivated. They have a very good physical therapy department and nurses. They take excellent care of the patients. I highly recommend it to any family. If they personally had to go someplace, that's where they would want to go.

I cannot express how extremely happy we are with the excellent care our loved one received at Life Care Center, Winter Haven, FL. Our daytime RN- Tara was outstanding as were the CNA's and the awesome PT/OT and Speech Therapy staff. Everyone showed our loved one care, patience and support to the family members. Thank you does not say enough!

You need to find abother place for your love one. The stuff is very rude, don't care of the residents. My aunt use to be there and we had to take out because of no good care. They are under staff all the time. Some don't every speak to you and alway look upset when I come in to see my aunt. Thank you.

CHOOSE THIS FACILITY! I have a family member that has been in 3 different rehab centers in the past 2 years. Life Care is by far THE BEST. I had to learn the hard way that when getting discharged from a hospital they give you a list of places and no time to research. I won't bad mouth other places but this facility deserves this long review. 1. Donna in admissions was a huge help when I was calling around. 2. The physical therapy, occupational and speech therapy is not only outstanding, but they spend twice the amount of time with patients than other places. 3. The short term rehab is separate from the nursing home so you only see patients working and getting better. 4. I learned they use hospital ventilation so there isn't the "smell" that places can have. 5. The food is actually GOOD, with healthy choices. 6. The staff truly seems to care that people get better. You have choices as family members, and I thought I would write it down to let you know, don't let the hospitals push you to places that are not good. I took my sister from Celebration Hospital to this place and the drive is worth it. Most of all, my sister feels safe and cared for there. She remembers the bad places and I told her I would never let that happen again. Thank you for taking the time to read this, I hope it can save families time and stress and I wish health and recovery to a loved one that needs to go to rehab.

My husband was at Life Care at Winter Haven and they were very good to him. He was there when he had a heat stroke for a couple of weeks. The staff was nice and his meals were good. They had an ice cream parlor in it that they gave to their patients everyday if they wanted and that was a nice feature.

Find another facility if your loved one cannot do basic things for themselves. Facility is under staffed and it can take up to 40 minutes from the time the patient presses the aid button until someone comes in. Patient care varies between shifts and weekends. It is probably a good facility for a hip or knee replacement therapy. I know I would never want to be a patient with limited mobility in this facility.

I've been very pleased with Life Care Center. My sister's been there the last two years. They're taking very good care of her and it's been very good. The care that she's been taking, the interaction, I think it's an excellent facility. However, it's been very difficult to deal with the office to get her from private care to Medicaid. I didn't get an explanation, but rather a threatening tone. I'm 76, so it's been very stressful. But the main business office manager has been very helpful.

I felt that the staff was very attentive and that they assisted the residence promptly. All the residence looked happy and were enjoying themselves. they have a hair and nail salon on the property , a community dinning room and a social room for games and activities. The staff try to do at least two activities with the residence a month such as ice cream socials and game nights or bingo( which the residence love).During my visit the actual doctor came in and seeing the patients and they were just as friendly as the nurses and the aid there . They also have a full service area for physical therapy. They facility is well up to date and very well staffed . i was a little hesitant of my family being in an assisted living/ nursing home facility due to hearing so much bad about them but this one is very good.
