My husband is in Williston Care Center for skilled nursing. I did not choose it, but I don't think there was any place else that the hospital could have put him in. But he is doing better now and he's not quite as agitated. Some of the staff members are good, while some are not caring and just stay on their telephones and don't tend to the patients as they should. In terms of food, my husband is on a puree diet. There's a room they call an art room, they have all kinds of puzzles, shows, and music. There's an outdoor place that they can stay in, and some of it is covered for when it rains. They take a group of about 15 people out there, give them snacks, and keep the music going for them outside. They also have bingo which my husband doesn't care about, but the other residents get excited about it and they have it several times a week. There's a preacher and he has lessons for them at least once a week, and occasionally they'd have entertainment come in once a month, like people that plays guitars and sing. In terms of the cost, it's $19,000 a month and I was going to have to take him out after the insurance was done taking care of it, but Medicaid supplement kicked in.

i was wanting to place my dad back at this location and they (the acting DON-Ann) stated he exceeded their weight limit, I feel that is very discriminate and should not have been stated in that manner. When he weighed the same amount a few years ago the weight wasn't an issue. I feel like We need an explanation of who is qualified for care there and a reason why he was singled out as being a weight issue. I recommend their rehab 100%. The physical therapists were extraordinary. When my mother was due to come home, they came by to check to make sure the place was ready for her. They could improve on their nursing though.

My husband's great aunt was a former resident or Oakview Rehab and Nursing Facility. She stayed approximately three years until she was moved to another state to be closer to my husband's uncle.
