My aunt moved to Maris Pointe. You walk in and they're very professional. The facility is very clean. The residents all look happy, even though they're in a memory care facility. When they first took me on a great tour, they didn't change anything just because I was coming in on a tour. I got to see their lunch schedule and their activities schedule, and it just felt like a good place for my aunt to be in. The staff was very friendly, very professional, and willing to work with me within my means. Mine was a special case because I needed to get my aunt placed immediately, but they jumped through hoops to make that happen. They have movie nights, art activities, and bingo. They bring in people to sing and dance. They do bus tours where they take all the residents that are capable out to shopping centers or out to a restaurant for lunch. They keep them as busy as they want to be. They have an open garden that the residents could go out into and not worry about them getting lost anywhere.

My husband is a resident of Maris Pointe, and I'm very happy with the room. The staff isn't perfect, but I like that the two nurses that I directly spoke to are knowledgeable. I've been there several times at meal times and have tried eating, and my husband does very well, the meals are quite good. I saw the two different holiday events and a couple of classes that they have there, they have laughing yoga. I would like for them to have more activities, but the ones I saw were excellent.

I walked through the building of Maris Pointe. It was very home-like. The room that a resident would use was beautiful. It wasn't a large institution. It was more like home. They had a lot of interactive games and gardening, just trying to keep them active. Any activity that they would like to do, they encourage them to play. They had physical therapy and chair exercises. It's all memory care. So, they're keeping them engaged. Everybody was very friendly and said hello. I tried one of their cookies, it was excellent, homemade.

My in-laws seem to be enjoying it there at Maris Pointe, because of the activities. It's a full-service facility, so it's all-inclusive and it's good. The staff is really helpful. I haven't tried the food but I've seen what they've served them. It seems edible and better than what Mom used to cook, it's not a 5-star restaurant. The layout of the place is nice, they have an outdoor area. There's no way they could get lost because it goes around in a big circle or square, so the layout is good. They have activities like Wii bowling. They had dancing, and trivia, and they take them out on outings. They have things that my in-laws have surprisingly taken part of.

My husband will move into Maris Pointe. I went there and I really liked it. It's very close to home. The tour was wonderful. It's nice and airy. The hallways are really nice and big. This one is more like a home setting, like the front and stuff like that when you go in, with a higher ceiling. When I look at their courtyard, the way the place is set in different buildings, and each building has its own courtyard with plants. They'll let the people go, take them out there, and they can try to maintain the plants. I said, "What about if they pull the plant?" So we put another plant in. That's so they can distract themselves, they keep themselves occupied, and I like that for my husband because he's an outdoor person. He can see that he can go there and play with whatever he wants to do. We got him in a studio apartment there and the rooms are pretty nice, they're all wood floors. He can look through the window and see all the plants and shrubberies. A nice walk in closet, nice shower, and I can decorate the room the way I would at home. They want you to bring your own stuff to decorate. I want to bring his own bed in, and fix the room the way I would like to have it, according to his taste. The person who took us on the tour last night was wonderful. He explained every question we asked him. As we were going out, we saw some of the staff, and they were all pleasant, and said hello. Everybody was pleasant to us, and every question we asked was answered. The tour guide was fantastic. When he met us, he had coffee ready for us on the table. It's open dining, really open, set up with small tables, maybe two people to a table. The place was very clean. They have a TV room, they even have a salon for women.
