My mother-in-law is already placed in A Banyan Residence. They're caring and very attentive to all of the residents' needs. There's a fountain, there are many activities, they have a hair salon and manicures which they do once a week. They have daily activities for assisted living as well as memory care, and it's all together, like playing bingo. Overall, I'm very satisfied.

We feel that our family has found a way to foster an independent lifestyle while still addressing the unique care needs that are present across the entire assisted living and memory care spectrum. Were transforming perceptions of what assisted living and memory care can be. We build every resident relationship on trust, striving to earn it from the first conversation. Building meaningful relationships amongst our residents, families, and staff is the cornerstone of our assisted living program. Placing a family member in assisted living and/or memory care is difficult. Our family feels we made the very besdecision possible when we chose Banyan. Their concept of mixing assisted living and memory care residents for all meals and activities is an unusual one and one of the many reasons we chose them. My sister suffers from Parkinson's and though she has delusions, they are sporadic, so that 80% of the time she is "compos mantis" as the doctors call it. At Banyan, she gets great assisted living care, but when she needs it, also great memory care. The buildings and grounds are gorgeous, more nearly like a botaqnical garden than a gated facility. (You can hardly see the tall fence because it is covered and concealed by plants and trees. Every room opens directly onto one of the lush gardens so there are no long, drab halls as found in most assisted living places. We have found the staff to be helpful, responsive to sister's needs, and cheerfully dedicatee to the care of their residents. Of course there are problems from time to time, but most often they are caused by the diseased condition of my sister rather than by anything staff could control. Every Sunday, there is an outdoor barbeque with a choice of entrees, a singer to entertain and Florida sunshine. This is just one example of the many activities offered (every day) for residents who are able to participate: bingo, gin rummy, trivial pursuits, organ concerts etc. All good.. There is no perfect solution to this family problem except that there be no problem. But given the circumstances we know we made the best decision possible when we chose a Banyan Residence in Venice.

My dad is in A Banyan Residence. We chose them because they were just easy to work with. They seem very caring. The transition was fairly simple. They have a game room and bingo; things like that. His apartment is like a suite so he is on one side, and another man is on the other side. They share a bathroom, but it seems like it's nice. We haven't been inside. He said the food is fine. It's expensive; he has only been there for two weeks.

Our family agonized and researched for months over the decision about placing my wife Mary of 50 years in Memory Care. Eventually her unsafe and sometimes life-threatening behavior left us with no choice but to move forward. I can only thank God for somehow directing us to A Banyan Residence. The long dreaded transition turned out to be a simple and painless process. They (Banyan) knew EXACTLY how to handle their challenging mission. It was "all hands on deck" and their amazing staff focused and handled my wife's transition masterfully. The changes in Mary, in less than 2 short weeks, have been nothing short of miraculous. She is smiling, engaging with others, attending the many well thought out activities and SHE IS SAFE! My whole family is now beginning to heal and we can finally breathe again. Please keep in mind we did extensive, in-depth research and I encourage any family going the immeasurable pain inflicted by Alzheimer/Dementia to strongly consider this beautiful and very family oriented care center.

I moved my parents into Banyan in July 2017, such a big decision and stressful time for any family to leave their independent home. The staff at Banyan has gone above and beyond to help us thru this transition, you could not find a more dedicated and personable staff. Nor could you find a prettier atmosphere. I fell in love with it the minute I walked in and saw all of the outdoor seating areas, lush landscaping, and uplifting music that is piped thru everywhere, even the outdoor hallways !! I would live there myself, and someday when I'm at this time of life, maybe I just will. If you are at this decision point in your own life or your parents life, I just want to say you cannot go wrong considering Banyan Residence in your choices. I had two friends who put their parents there and told me about this best kept secret in Venice, Florida. I am so grateful they did, and now I'm here to pay it forward. I highly recommend this small, personable, and resort feeling assisted living. Second to none !! Thank you Amanda, Maggie, Charla, and Julie !! You are a great team and deserve a huge round of applause. I wish you could hear me clapping

We are happy with A Banyan Residence. The staff who assisted me was good. So far, we have a positive experience. I suggest that they hire more staff.

Terrible they don't do drug test nor do they do thorough background checks they'll basically hire anyone there's someone working there with domestic violence on their record, the staff is rude they abuse the residents, my father who is in memory care has had two black eyes!!

Banyan Residence seemed more crowded and smaller than the other nearby facilities, and my mother did not like it. The staff person I met was very enthusiastic and committed to making sure the residents had the attention and activities needed to give them some quality of life.

My dad is in the memory care facility in Venice Florida. The staff is great; I think anybody that works with that group of people needs to be here, and they are very helpful. He shares a room with another resident. They have two separate bedrooms and a hallway with no door between them, and that’s the part I don’t care for. I wish he had his apartment, but it is more affordable than some of the others down there so that worked out; it’s also because it’s Florida. It’s kind of setup more like a motel. The door out of his room goes to the walkway and there are gardens there and like a little shallow fishpond, and the gates around the facility are locked. The staff is great, they have good activities, and they take higher functioning residents on outings on a bus. I am happy with the staff. They don’t have nursing staff there; they have like health aides and med techs. They rotate some physician’s assistants and doctors that come once a week. I myself I am a nurse so I was wishing that they had more medical support. I would recommend the memory care facility. I wish they had more space for the individual rooms, and they are also kind of dreary, kind of dark; they don’t have good lighting.

After thoroughly checking out the facility I placed my Aunt in here. I thought it would be a good fit for her since she loved the outdoors and at Banyon, all the resident's unit doors open directly to the outside (no inside corridors). She was a very difficult person with dementia and they did everything, absolutely everything to make her comfortable and happy. They have so many outings for the residents to go on. And everything around the property is geared towards helping the mentally incapacitated heighten there senses. The property is all fenced and gated so they can wonder around the property anywhere but can not get out. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a place with a memory unit.

Banyan Residence has an awesome reputation. My mother loves it. She's only been there a month. There are cameras so we can view my mom 24-hours a day. There are 18 cameras at the facility that we can view over the website. It's privately owned and it's like a resort. We can visit her every day, we can take her out, we can eat with her every day if we like. They help her with her bathing, dressing, and dispense medication. I'm satisfied with their services. We're 100% satisfied and I already recommended this facility to others.

It was a terribly difficult decision to put the care of our elderly neighbor in the hands of Banyan Residence, but now that a few months have passed, it is clear that we made the right choice. It was rough at the beginning, but our neighbor has done so well there. At first it was disconcerting having a webcam in the common area, but it has allowed us to see how well she is getting along. She really seems to enjoy interacting with the other residents, and has even found herself a paramour. As a community, she's far more social and interactive than she could have ever been with just family as the main caregivers. Instead of sitting around all day, we get reports of her going on daily walks around the facilities and holding conversations with the other residents. It has been hard for us all, but in the end, this has been the best place for her.

A Banyan Residence is homelike, not institutional feeling,so the residents don't feel they've been warehoused. My spouse gets physical therapy while there and is much happier than when he was in a rehab facility. He is free to walk about, as the facility has a fenced perimeter. I think that it has been a blessing for me, as well, because I am able to give him more caring time when I am there, because I am not as stressed as when he was home. I guess it's true, Alzheimer's affects more than the person who has it. Caregivers truly benefit when they know their loved one is well cared for and happy.
