The only reason we chose The Meridian at Brandon over the other place was because my brother is only 67 years old. He's fairly young, and while the other place was very nice, to me, it was more of a leisurely, relaxed atmosphere, which was nice for the older people, but I think at Meridian there was a comfortable level of noise. It seemed like there was more activity. It's a bigger place. He can walk the halls. I think he'd be more active there. Jennifer was very informative and very helpful. She walked us around. I was tired of walking by the time we got out of it because the place was so big. She showed us everything and introduced us to the housekeeping staff and the medical staff. We got to meet everybody.

I chose The Meridian at Brandon for my husband for a few reasons. The first one is it's close to where I will be living. It's very bright and sunny. They have a lot of activities. My grandchildren actually went there and they fell in love with the place. It's just a very positive place. The staff is friendly. They seem to care. They even made a point of speaking with my grandchildren, and they're teenagers, and a lot of people don't talk to teenagers. So, they're very wonderful people there. They have so many things offered for the residents there. They have activities. They have monthly dinners where I can actually go with my husband. It's scheduled, like they have themed dinners. They have a movie theater, laundry, a beauty parlor, and a bistro.

I toured The Meridian at Brandon. It was very overwhelming. It's a very large facility and it's incredible. It's beautiful and very well decorated because it's geared more towards people who are non-dementia patients who expect to be able to take care of themselves for the most part. They offer different levels of care, but they also charge for those different levels of care, and that was one thing I did not like. It could get very expensive very quickly. It was very tall and very, very long. They had hundreds of units there, but they had lots and lots of scheduled activities. The scheduled activities were just out of this world. They had chef-prepared meals and stuff like that. The only thing is that, because my mother has COPD and she can't walk very far, that was the downfall of the place. Just to go eat in the dining room, if her room wasn't down the hall from the dining room, she would have to take an elevator and then walk all over the facility, which is ginormous. They had studios, one-bedrooms, and then they had two-bedroom companion suites, so they had a lot of floor plans to choose from. The staff who toured us was very professional. Everyone that I encountered was very professional. It's not as friendly or family-oriented as with the other place because they were a very large community. The price was out of my mother's range. They catered more to affluent individuals and couples.

The Meridian at Brandon was beautiful. I wanted to move there myself. It's brand new. The rooms looked nice. The staff was very lovely and spent a lot of time with me. The problem was that the medical personnel came to visit my mother and said they couldn't take care of her. I saw a studio and a one-bedroom apartment. They had a beautiful room for the residents to watch videos. They had an art studio, a courtyard, and a beauty salon.

The Meridian at Brandon was an excellent place. It was a brand-new property, and everything is well taken care of. The people were very nice and very thorough. The tour and information they gave me were detailed. I was very impressed with that facility. It was located in a very quiet location. The residents there seem to be very active. If I decide to stay in a senior place long term, I will go back to them. The 1-bedroom was absolutely beautiful and very comfortable. The area to relax in and the dining area were nice, too.

The Meridian at Brandon was excellent. It's brand new, it just started. I don't know about the food, but other than that, the service, the amenities, and everything are excellent. I toured the assisted living. The staff was very personable, they appear to be caring, and they were efficient. They had a gym, a salon, indoor mailboxes for each resident, and a covered patio too.
