I am/was a resident of this facility

I moved into SeaCoast at Uptown Oaks. It's like an apartment. I have my own bathroom, that when I need to go, I don't have to wait in line. I have my own little kitchenette, that if I want to make coffee at 3:00, 4:00, 5:00 in the morning, I can do it. If in the middle of night I'm hungry, I can open up a can of soup, a can of spaghetti, warm it up in a microwave. The room is very large. It's like a studio apartment. They said they have three meals a day. The staff is really nice, hospitable, and helpful. Every time they see you it's always a good morning. They're very cheery. They don't have an attitude. The place is immaculate, and if you need something fixed, you have housekeeping, you have the maintenance man. You just go downstairs to the receptionist, you put in a work order, and they come and fix whatever problems you've got.

I visited this facility

Seacoast at Uptown Oaks was clean. It was an old place. There were a lot of people out and about socializing. There were no activities when we were there, but it was kind of close to lunchtime. It was nice. They had a nice smoking area and an enclosed area. They couldn't wander off. Their facilities were nice. The people were extremely friendly. The staff who gave the tour was a salesman. He was a nice guy. It was an older place, so it wasn't bright and sunny like a lot of the newer places. It was three stories, which was not what I was looking for. Nevertheless, the people there were not the golf course set, but they were just regular people. They had good-looking food, and it was restaurant-style. They had a library. They would take our cats. They had private studios. There was some construction, so we didn't get to see everything. The staff all knew the residents' names. The dining room was clean and attractive. They provided three meals a day. They had a lot of nice activities there.

Seacoast at Uptown Oaks was pretty nice. We looked at it, we talked about paperwork, and we're considering it. The tour was good. The receptionist was very friendly. The lady on the tour was very friendly and knowledgeable of what we needed to do, what the cost would be, and everything that we needed to know. She knew it right off hand, so it was pleasant. The rooms she showed us were fairly nice, and they were in the process of being updated and repaired. I noticed the hallway needs a little bit of repair, but not too bad. The staff were very friendly and worked very well with the patients. The dining room appeared clean and functional. The residents that weren't in the memory care were playing, going around, and doing their daily activities. We noticed in memory care that they were trying to help residents to do things that they could do.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My sister has moved into Seacoast at Uptown Oaks. She was very happy with it. She was happier when she came to the room. She looked around and looked for things that belonged to her. That made her feel more comfortable. It's very essential that when they come in, they see something that is theirs. That made a huge impact on her, knowing that she had little things here, like pictures, and her little accessories, something that she could relate to. The space is pretty good. It's very homey. She's in a private suite. It has a pretty good size and it's very comfortable. The staff so far has been very friendly and very cooperative. I have no complaints. They have activities. They take a handful of people from the memory unit and just take them outside to Walmart and things like that. These are people that they know they could control in a small environment and they bring them back. They will have ice cream and they'll hear some music. She seems to eat all her food, and she likes it. They try to have everyone sit at the table and just mingle and eat their food. I know part of the dining area is being renovated, so you still have some old furniture, but they're not broken. It's comfortable for them to eat there. It's affordable.

I visited this facility

I had an in-person tour of Seacoast at Uptown Oaks. The residents were very active and seemed to be moving around quite a bit. The facility was a little older and could have used a little bit of updating, but it was clean. The staff was awesome, very helpful, and informative. The administrator who helped me was very informative and helpful. It looked like they had a pretty good choice of menu that I was shown.

My sister has moved into Seacoast at Uptown Oaks. The appearance is very clean. The people are very friendly. The apartment is big. The staff is very friendly and very helpful. I saw residents going to a game room and I saw a group of them going to the dining room. Some of the residents were doing puzzles, some were in their rooms listening to the radios and TVs. A lot of them were outside. Today, she had broccoli. She had a well balanced meal today and they usually do. The food looks good to me, but she's very particular. She doesn't do Mexican food and they had tacos one Friday and she doesn't do that. She doesn't do sandwiches and they may have that on a Saturday. She's very particular about things, and they give her options.

I visited this facility

Seacoast at Uptown Oaks had a very pleasant atmosphere. They've got big dining rooms. It's not a real big place, but it's very nice. The rooms were nice sized. They had cupboards and a kitchenette. The room I saw was semi-private, but it was very nice. They had some rooms with patios and they had activities like bingo. They are expanding, so they should be bigger soon. Everything looked clean and well taken care of. I met two of the staff and they were very friendly. The facility was in pretty good shape.

We chose SeaCoast at Uptown Oaks for my parents because of a combination of things. How big the apartments were, the price, and how friendly and personable the staff was. They're very flexible, warm, and personable. The apartment was large and affordable, but I'm not that impressed with the food. They have a lot of activities, they take them places and they have a lot going on. It's pretty nice and peaceful, with a lot of shade and a lot of greenery. It's very comfortable. I think they could use a little more upkeep.

My aunt is here. What we like about this place is that they give you just one charge for everything. Everywhere else we went, they had different charges. We thought that's going to be financially good. Once we saw this place, we said this is all we want. I've also been happy with this new place because it's right across from where my aunt used to live. It's a familiar area and the people there are people she already knows. They're good at helping her. One of the things I like is that they are from the Caribbean, so there's a lot more diverse residents there than the other places. The days that I went there, the food tends to be that type of food also, but probably not all the time. I think she'll be much happier there than she would have been anywhere else. The big turning point was the finances, of course. Once we pay the money per month, we're done and that's all of it, unless auntie will be placed on the next level. I think she is already comfortable there. I can see the difference compared to when she was in the rehab. She was very, very uncomfortable in the rehab. We haven't been there long enough and there are still issues that need to be worked on. I'm really busy right now, and I have not really had a chance to see what's going on this year. My mother herself has been unwell, so we have not been able to do anything else for my auntie, but based on what we saw last year, we are very happy with the attention she got at The Inn. We're very happy that they keep us in the loop of what's going on there and that's good. The staff is great. When we brought my aunt in, we were struggling with her and they took control and were able to calm her down. It really shows that they are really professional, and I was impressed with that. Of course, she was coming out of rehab and was very confused, but since living there, she has improved in terms of her ability to understand what's going on. Based on what I've heard, the activities are good. At this time, my aunt cannot participate, but they went out of their way to make her feel comfortable. The outside passageway is a large space, and it's beautiful. She can go and look on the outside when she's able to do it on her own. I think they do a very very job in making the space that they have into something that's attractive.
