When I visited American House St. Petersburg, I was very pleased with the walk through. The place was very clean. The staff was friendly and even the residents were also friendly. I liked the fact that my father is in a shared room, but even though he's in the shared room, it's almost like private, because he has a separate door and the roommate also has a separate door. They just shared the bathroom, and that was impressive to me. The staff has been very good. They keep me informed and when I come to visit him, they already know who I am. If they have something to tell me about him, they tell me right away, like whether he had a good day or a bad day. They eat in the dining room and they get my father out of the room for all of his meals. I haven't been there to see what type of activity they do, but they have different activities for the residents, because when I first walked in there, I was impressed with what they were doing, a cardio drumming exercise. They have a common area for the exercises. I think they exercise in the same area where they have a common area for eating. They have a television and you can take them outside if someone is with them, because with it being a memory care, the doors have to be locked. The meals looked very appealing. Like I would even want to eat a meal there.

My mom was a resident of American House St. Petersburg. The staff just seemed very untrained and uninterested, and not caring at all. Their activities were very limited. The food was mediocre. They were supposed to be able to have choices for what they wanted, but many days they didn't get choices. You would communicate with an aide about a concern, but nothing would happen, and they just did not seem to be trained at all in memory care. They never had consistency with their staff, like every day it was always different people. It's a gorgeous facility, but they did not keep my mom's bathroom clean. It's like a resort, but that wasn't the problem. My biggest thing is the memory training care for their staff, hiring caring staff members who want to do their job would be very helpful, and have some consistency. They also need to add activities, and not just an occasional activity because the residents need more than that.

When you come into American House St. Petersburg, it is very welcoming. The place smells good and it's visually very pleasing. Everybody takes the time to help you. I spoke with a lady named Theresa. She is top-notch and very welcoming. She took the time to answer all my questions. In comparison to other communities, they have better ratios of patients to caregivers. Although it's more expensive, it's definitely worth it. They have a patio and an area where they do activities. They have many different seating areas where they can get together, whether it's by a fireplace or something to watch or just conversation-wise. They have hair salons available and many different doctors come in, from podiatry to general care. I was very surprised by that. The facility is brand new. They finished building it in 2021, and they're not in a flood zone.

American House St. Petersburg is a beautiful facility. But they were more affluent and like a lot of them sort of had a private aide with them, so it wasn't the right mix for my brother. It's brand new, but it was pricey. They have activities and amenities. They had manicures and pedicures, but my brother likes animals and what's going on with the weather, news, and sitcoms, so it wasn't the right mix.

The person who showed us around American House St. Petersburg was very knowledgeable, very friendly, and very helpful. The apartments were smaller and they did not have the full kitchen. It had a microwave and a small refrigerator. I think they had a little backyard area and they had a nice pool. It had a ramp to walk into the pool versus going down steps. It was a very lovely pool. It seemed like a newer building.

I loved the location of American House St. Petersburg. I loved the newness of it. It didn't seem to have a lot of residents there at the time. Maybe they were in their rooms or going out. I was impressed with the newness and cleanliness of it, but the price was too expensive. The dining area was excellent. Everything looked excellent because it was so new.

American House St. Petersburg was a new facility. It's well taken care of, had good activities, and good food. It was topnotch, but we just didn't care for the location. The people we met were courteous and well-informed. They got our questions answered. They were very pleasing.

I liked that American House St. Petersburg was smaller and the fact that it's very close to my friends, my doctors, and my stores. I'm still driving so it's very nice for me to be close to all of these places. It's fairly new. It's about three years old. They've invited me to have dinner there a couple of times, but I just wasn't able to make it. The apartment had a kitchen, which was fully equipped, and a washing machine and dryer. The staff was very agreeable and answered all my questions. They were very knowledgeable and not pushy.

American House St. Petersburg was pretty nice. We were looking for memory care places specifically and they're all pretty depressing. American House was the nicest of all the options here in Pinellas. The facility was pretty nice, very new, modern, clean, and well-lit. They have a nice pool. The staff I met has been very friendly and helpful. We already selected a room for my grandmother. She's in kind of an unusual room. The typical room for memory care is just a bedroom and an attached bathroom. For my grandmother, it's normally a room for two people that has two small bedrooms and a central living room, and then a bathroom, so it's a little larger. Part of the decision-making process was that she would get more private space than she would get at any of the other facilities.

I've been in American House St. Petersburg's independent living for 2 days now. It's a brand-new facility that looks like a luxury hotel. The room I'm in is very spacious and well-priced. It's a very nice environment and it's very well decorated. The food is well-prepared too. There is a library, an exercise room, a swimming pool, very large lobby areas, and there are elevators. It has just about everything you'd expect. The room comes with all utilities like Wi-fi and cable. The staff is also friendly and attentive.
