The seasonal planters and flowers are awesome and the clearing of the overgrown shrubs is amazing. It’s exciting to see the positive changes taking place. The barber/beauty salon services is much appreciated by the residents who are unable to go off campus bc of medical restraints. I appreciate the genuine concern given to the residents which many times goes unnoticed. Every time I have asked ANY staff person a question or had a concern I was greeted politely and any issue I thought was an issue was taken care of immediately. Love the new upgraded pavers at the entrance. Job well done!

My mother is at The Ponce Therapy Care Center. Her room is basic. It's got a TV, an awful bed, and a bathroom, but they said that it wouldn't be long before they would be changing her to two people in a room. It's clean. It has a place for them to eat like a cafeteria. It has physical therapy. It's a nursing home, so it doesn't have so many amenities to it. She has been there for about a week. The facility is mediocre. They have a psychotherapist who comes to her room and talks to her.

The rooms are WAY too small for 2 residents per room. The closets are the size of a shoe box. TV is provided - good thing as many residents don’t leave their room Hopefully your loved one won’t need a sit to stand machine to assist in getting up as there is only 2 for the 120 (Possible) residents. The administrative staff is very cold and indifferent. You sure can tell this place is FOR PROFIT There is ALWAYS a shortage of staff to care for your loved one. Many times they do not see a CNA for hours and forget about putting on your light. They go unnoticed. Hopefully your loved one doesn’t have a special diet. I’ve never see so many carbs served in one day even to the diabetic. Showers? When? How often? It’s a joke The rooms could use an overall, fresh paint, curtains between residents cleaned, etc Things are ALWAYS missing.. If you have a choice GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!!!! There is as many, if not more, agency staff working than regular staff. Of course they couldn’t care less for taking care of the resident. They are always on their cell phones. There are times, particularly during meal times that there will not be a can on the floor for at least an hour. Hopefully your loved one won’t need help during that time frame. Just not enough staff for coverage. I’ve seen urine in the halls and told someone and am told it’s just water. Shouldn’t that be cleaned up immediately as the residents have difficulty walking and can slip and fall. This is an old facility and it’s showing its age. Even funeral homes don’t have canopies anymore. OUTDATED. OUTDATED. I could go on for hours but the most important thing is the lack of care for your loved one. I would hate to think that I would have to stay here. No full time nutritionist on staff! How can they get by with all of this with the state? They are usually made aware that the inspectors are coming so you know there is plenty of staff when they come in. they can’t guarantee that the medical records are correct as some things aren’t necessarily documented. Like I said I could go on and on but I think you get the picture!

Do not send your loved one to this facility. They don’t return phone calls when you are checking on your loved one. If it’s after hours the hike will just ring and ring and then says at the end they are not taking any calls. They don’t set up care conferences to know how they are doing. They ignored breathing issues and then rushed my step father to the hospital when it was established when he was admitted that he didn’t want to go back to the hospital. Never asked the family. Just did it. I live out of state and feel horrible we chose this facility. My step father deserves better.

My dad has been here for 2 years and each time we visit we are impressed. Every worker there knows his name! The activities coordinator is outstanding and really strives to get residents included and staying active. I appreciate the quarterly meetings with the nurses. They followed COVID guidelines and that’s why you had to schedule an appointment to visit, but it’s not like that now. I contemplated moving my dad closer to me (I’m out of state) but I don’t want to risk putting him in a place that’s not as good as this one just because it’s closer to me. So since I can’t take care of him 24/7, this is the next best choice.

Let's just say, we discharged early. Facility has potential but administration needs work. My family member literally cried to come home. Facility appears clean but I was never allowed back to the rooms and only saw through a window. Very small and my Loved One was not tended to very often until I complained. The squeeky wheel had to be used in this case as we had some medications issues as well. Many nursing homes are not nice but this one could be with the right attention on the patients and not always the bottom line. There is potential here with the proper staffing. We would not return.

We won't be here long! Thank God. The treatment my husband received was awful, no medications for a diabetic!!! Really??? He arrived early morning, you can't visit unannounced? Make an appointment for a once a week visit. NO THANK YOU!!! We are entirely vaccinated, wear a mask, wash and abide by the rules, 6 ft. etc. I'm so unimpressed I can see I will be contacting the ombudsman. Alot!!!!

This is not the place to send a loved one. My mother is currently in this place and it is hell. The cna's are nasty and ill mannered and unprofessional, they have no empathy or concerns was the residents. The company claimed to provide a home like atmosphere with custom room, lol the rooms are shabby with a closet the size of a shoe box and a lousy nightstand. TV is provided. The facility which says they have 120 beds has inadequate equipment to cover such a number of beds. The "sit to stand" machine is down to 1 there should be at least 4 so that each wing has it own machine. But, nope 1 machine so when a resident needs it be changed good luck Chuck because the cna has to go find where it has been left. Believe me the cna's are in no hurry to hunt it down so the residents sit in their waste for way to long waiting for themselves to be cleaned. New phone system recently put in makes it impossible to get a hold of anyone has they do not have voice mail...how freaking ridiculous. They staff makes no effort to keep you informed of the current health situation regarding your family, you have to beg for updates and follow-up. The cover situation definitely has hurt their system even more as they can't keep help. This place really is not a good place for your family to call their last home. Staff does not care about residents personal belongings cna's break things and don't report it so things don't get replaced. Wrong medication ordered, residents not properly assisted with daily health care. The cna's always saying they don't have time to help, what! I thought that was their job. The list of ineffectiveness could go on and on. I am praying for my mother to reach her final resting place so we both can be at peace.

My sister was there recently. Wonderful caring staff. The rooms where very clean. Many activities to enjoy if you are able. They have a wonderful chef there, the food is excellent. My sister has an intolerance to wheat, so they had a special menu for her. She had been to two other nursing homes in town, which where awful. The staff here is so nice, and when you put your light on for assistance, they are there fast, unlike to other two nursing homes. And everyone greats you with a hello when you first enter the facility. Wonderful place.

The Ponce is where my dad is right now. It is a nursing home and rehab. I like the place because it seems clean and it is very good. The staff has a pretty good attitude and works very well. The rooms are OK. They are clean and well kept. The food is OK. It's institutional, so some days are better than others. They have activities like games, TV shows, and entertainment. It is pretty good. However, they probably need more staff.

My husband was in the Ponce for four months. Had excellent care and compassion during this trying time. They were great with me (his wife) during all of this and very supportive. I would recommend this type of facility.
