The last 7 years my brother has been living at LifeCare Pensacola. The facility itself has a warm atmosphere. Shelly, Kelly and Octavia are nurses that help support his needs and are quite good at figuring out his personality swings ( that sometimes can get highly verbal ). (Destini, his CNA!! also) The nurses also keep a close eye on any skin abrasions and treat appropriately. He brags about the food, and I agree, Mr. Pat and food preparers do an amazing job. Upon entry to the facility, the reception desk workers are friendly and make me feel welcome! The housekeeping staff also are pleasant and friendly! The maintenance staff seems to work hard to keep things in check. I would recommend this facility without hesitation.

My Mom was in Life Care Pensacola for 30 days in Oct. 2019. I was very impressed with the compassion and attention to detail by both the day and night staffers. Was everything perfect, no. It took several days to implement the breakfast my Mom wanted. But that was logistical, as there is a weekend cooking staff and a week staff. One of my neighbors has his wife at Life Care, and he has a long list of complaints, but says Life Care is the best he has found. Nursing homes can't be without some minor flaws, but I would recommend Life Care to anyone, as I visited two other facilities and found LIfe Care to be the best, and would be happy to be there myself. I also visited with residents on the 2nd floor, and everything seemed as nice there as the ground floor. I was in the building off and on from 7 am to 10 pm for 30 days.

Judith was near death when she arrived at Life Care, but over the next month and a half, she was transformed by the care, therapy and kindness of the entire staff. All her needs were met or exceeded. The staff was very kind and encouraging to Judith. They made sure she felt 'safe' and showed her how she was improving on a daily basis. We can never fully thank everyone there how much we appreciate what they've done for Judith and our family.

I came here from the hospital and was very, very sick and most people did not think I would get better. I was very weak when I got here and could not do much. Thanks to the excellent doctor, nurses, CNA's and therapy staff I am now able to walk and going home today in really good shape. The food was good and I enjoyed the activities that they had. Therapy was great and I cannot thank each and everyone of them enough. Thank you Life Care for the great nursing care I received.

Life Care Center of Pensacola is a very beautiful place. They have excellent staff. I'm very happy with my husband being there. They are very caring and concerned about their patients. The room has a nice closet, everything is clean and fresh, and the beds are changed daily. They take very good care of their patients. I had lunch there today, andi t was the best dish I ever tasted. My husband has been in this place for three weeks now. He is not able to do the activities, but they have bingo and plant classes. They have a very good activity scheduled for those who are able to do it. We chose the right place and we are happy there.

I'm so glad that I came to this facility for my rehab after my surgery. I have been to this facility two times and have had great care both times. The therapy department was great and the therapists on staff were always there to meet my needs. There are 2 doctors and nurse practitioner's on staff. The food was great. I could not believe how quickly the call lights were answered and my needs were met. The rooms were very clean. My case manager had my equipment ordered so I could discharge home. I would definitely recommend this facility above any other.

The staff at this facility are amazing!! My first impression was that of a hotel, not a rehab facility. The rehab staff were awesome. They worked tirelessly to help him recover. They included me in their goals and gave me many opportunities to practice with my husband safe techniques for transferring from wheelchair to bed, chair, and car. The speech therapist explained procedures (Vital Stim) and interacted extremely well with both of us. The nursing staff listened and acted when there was a concern. The executive director took notes when I would meet with her and would contact me with answers. I felt that I was a part of the recovering team. I was treated with care and respect at all times. The discharge team also were helpful with arranging medical equipment for home. The resident rooms were clean and amble. There were a variety of activities with large print calendars posted throughout the building. (Bingo, movies, ice cream socials) Residents who could participate were taken on outings to restaurants as well as shopping venues. Transportation was provided for my husband when he needed to be seen by outside doctors. Most of the encounters with staff were positive and pleasant.

I haven't written a review or given a rating on a product/facility in the past- but feel compelled to do it now with Life Care Center of Pensacola. We were searching for a post- op facility for my father for therapy. In this place you will be given a tour of the ground floor with orchestra music, etc..- but believe me when I say the upstairs patient care is a whole different scenario. My family still can't get past the shock of dad's care, or lack thereof. His stay ended when I dropped by early one morning and found him in the floor of the tv lounge- only 25 feet from a "nursing station". They allowed him to pass out and fall from a wheelchair and nobody noticed until I called them over. The staff MD called 911,and was very coy about the situation. We had him transported to ER via ambulance and the ER doc stated this blood sugar was allowed to drop so low- he most likely fainted and fell from chair. Why the staff hadn't noticed is beyond belief. Chest Xray revealed start of pneumonia, which they also hadn't detected. And this was supposed to be his place of therapy following hip replacement surgery. We tried to be with him most of the day- and I can't imagine what would have happened if we had not been able to. The staff members are loud, tend to share personal drama in the halls, and just really don't care. We escaped this place without further injury, so please, look very hard at this place for your needs and don't fall for the "smoke and mirrors" tour they give on the ground floor.

I was at The Life Care Center after surgery. I was treated excellent. The therapy staff is amazing, they paid attention to all my need . They i were there for me 7 days a week. The nursing staff was polite and jumped to get what ever i needed almost anticipating my needs. I do not know what I would have done with out them. I was prepared for my transition home and my surgeon was pleased to see how much progress i had made. The food was delicious and they always had snacks available. The coffee shop is also an added bonus to the communit. I would highly recommend Life Care Center if you have the need. They have a doctor onsite who can visit you when ever you need him. No other place has this type of program.

ALL THAT GLITTERS IS NOT GOLD. Life Care Center is an attractive facility, serves good but not exceptional food, has an excellent physical therapy department, but, in my opinion, nursing misses the mark. My 74 year old husband has dementia and a recent lower leg amputee and is non-ambulatory, totally dependent on the nursing staff. On four of the last 6 days I have arrived to find him, his clothes and bedding soaked in urine. He hasn't gotten the hang of the call button so they are supposed to check him every two hours. In all the time I've spent there it hasn't happened even once. Thursday I arrived at 10:30 to find him asleep in a darkened room with a broken clock that said 6:10. When the nurse told me they can't make him get up if he doesn't want to...I just looked her in the eye and told her the man has dementia. On one of his dry days I arrived to find him with his bare stump waving in the air. The nurse told me it was doctor's orders. I knew differently and made a stink. The boss nurse ended up redressing and ace wrapping it. When I took the knee immobilizer from the wheel chair I discovered that whoever had dressed him that morning had pulled off the brace without releasing the velcro straps taking the dressing and wrap with it (they were inside the brace) and just left him that way. I would love to walk in one day to find my husband, clean, dry and dressed. I would be ecstatic if he was sitting in his chair. This morning when I arrived shortly after 9 am he was wearing yesterday's clothes. He could use more physical and occupational therapy, but I am bringing him home on Monday because I dont trust the nursing care. I am tired of hearing that they can't make this non-ambulatory man with dementia do anything he doesn't want to. It is not comforting to know that the staff lets an individual with dementia call the shots.

My mother went into total kidney failure due to dehydration. She left hospital hydrated December 24 2017 to go to life center for rehabilitation. January 2 she was rushed to ER for throwing up blood. We were informed by doctor total kidney failure due to dehydration brought on by the nursing home. If you have a choice, go elsewhere.

I don't understand the other reviews because this place is amazing!!! The staff was so friendly and motivated me to recover after I was hospitalized for pneumonia. The place was very clean, I ate like a queen, I cannot sing their praises enough! My nurses and nurse assistants were very attentive to my needs. Great experience with my therapists as well, thank you for getting me home!

This place is horrible. The CNAs and nurses that work here show no compassion for the patients staying here. The CNAs/nurses do not get along at all and do not help each other take care of the patients. I do not recommend this place and am writing this review so that others do not experience what my family member has experienced.

This place is awful. Understaffed, filthy, and the poor people who are stuck there smell because there's no one to help them shower.
Glad I stayed.

If you want to know what this place is really like, stay overnight with your loved one. They make them use a bedpan because there is not enough staff to assist them to bathroom. There was one poor nurse passing meds on my mother's floor and that poor soul did not have time to breathe. The nurses aides are overwhelmed. It is a beautiful place on the surface only. Do not leave your loved one alone here unless you stay to experience it for yourself.

I am writing this review to inform other families who are considering placing a loved one with dementia in this facility. We placed my mother in the nursing home part of the facility for a week for respite care. She has dementia and was recovering from a partial hip replacement. She was not able to walk on her own so her week was spent in the bed or a wheelchair. We were told that by state law, the facility must change the residents every two hours. In my opinion, this did not happen because she came home with horrible diaper rash/candida rash. Her skin was almost ulcerated. In addition, the day after she came home, a urine sample was drawn by our home health nurse, and she was found to have a staph infection. All of this was brought to the attention of the unit nurse manager, director of nurses, and administrator. Their response was to self report themselves to the state. (All they got was a slap on the wrist.) The unit nurse manager told me she questioned the CNA's working on the floor where my mother's room was located.,and none of the CNA's saw anything unusual about her care or the condition of her skin. The facility is beautiful. Maybe if your loved one has the capacity to push a call button and ask for assistance this would be an acceptable place to stay. BUT if your loved one can not speak for themselves, PLEASE consider carefully what our experience was. I would not wish this experience on any one's loved one, especially an elderly, dementia patient.

TERRIBLE!!! On the surface the property is beautiful and resort-like. But it ends there. The care here is completely lacking and unreliable. Beware of allowing your loved one to attend a meeting unaccompanied: he will be tricked into signing documents contrary to his reports. Beware of fraud. It will break your heart once you spend time there. Those poor old people.

In a 24 hour period I am not impressed. I visited here on Monday before my 90 year old mother was released from the hospital with broken ribs. Things looked great clean no urine smell etc so we came here. On Tuesday morning, I received a phone call from the socialworker to come sign papers. At 12:35 I got a phone call telling me my mother had been transferred to the ER with possible cardiac arrest. I asked what time she had been transferred they said 9:30 a.m. Excuse me! 3 hours after she is transferred for a possible heart attack I'm notified! Not acceptable. I am so angry over this! good part it wasn't a heart attack, sad part I had to bring her back here. I'm not impressed or happy with this place so far oh wait when the transport arrived I was waiting downstairs, they brought a lady in, named Mrs. Davis....but it wasn't my mother, not even the same color! What does a person do!

Stay away! They can not be trusted to care for Alzheimer's and dementia patients. My grandmother was left in puddles of urine several times a week. A few of those times it was so severe it began dripping onto the floor. The head nurses and director implemented an hourly diaper checking system however staff was unable to follow through. Nurses complained about the system at their station in full view of myself and others. When I confronted them, Jean, the nurse in charge refused to make eye contact and tried to blame me. The care taking and customer service was appalling!

I stayed in Life Care Center for about nine days, and everything is great. I was there for rehab because I had my knee done. They did great because I can go around really good now. Their activities were good. We participated in bingo, wheelchair yoga, and everything. The food was good. We had the people from the food place talk to us and see what we wanted to eat. They had a lot of employees and people were watching out for you all the time. The also had a large staff in the rehab part too. I noticed you couldn't go up and down the stairs without a code so people wouldn't fall down the stairs or something. Even the front door was covered by code before you could go in and out. It was a good place.

Life care center in Pensacola is a beautiful facility. It sits off of the road and is free from traffic noise. The facility seemed very clean and the staff were friendly. A couple of bonus features is the ice cream parlor, the barber shop and the outdoor putting green. The rooms seemed nice however most of them are 2 patient rooms. The rehab facilities were adequate but not as large or as nice as other facilities in the area. My sister and I viewed the facility to see if life care center would be a good fit for our dad. We were able to walk in with out an appointment and one of the ladies in admissions gave us a tour. The tour was only of the main floor, and I am not sure what is upstairs - possibly more patient rooms. Another nice feature is the family dining room. This room is set up like a formal dining room and is available for family functions or gatherings (dinner, birthdays etc.)
