Azalea Trace was a nice campus. They were doing some construction and upgrades when we were there. They had nice grounds and places for people to walk and sit. The staff was very nice. They had activities for their residents, such as special nights where all would come dressed up, get served, eat in the dining hall, and have some entertainment. They seemed to really be on top of that and people enjoyed it. It just was really expensive. They had assisted living care right there on campus and once you were able to get your family member in (because they require an enormous down payment), if they needed a higher level of care, they could move to that. Everything would be covered, and you'd still pay the same price.

Azalea Trace has it all. You can start with independent living and move up. My tour was wonderful; it was very expensive, though. It was a very positive experience, but it was out of my price range. The facilities were very nice and upscale. The structure and the layout are very beautiful, and every new person who lives there doesn't just move in after someone moves out of the apartment. They completely redo it, and it's very clean and beautiful. They have pretty much everything there, like a workout room, and they have a pool that is not really big but is good for water aerobics. Everything's kind of shut down right now. They have lots of activities and a beautiful dining room but right now, all the meals are being sent to the rooms. Overall, it's beautiful, and I'd rate it a "five," but taking into account the cost it's a "one." If you can afford to live there, it's wonderful. I had limited interactions, but the staff was wonderful.

I was looking for continuing care and Azalea Trace is the only one here so I checked in, but I would have to sell a piece of the property I have to come up with the entrance fee. They have some vacancies. It's been around a long time so it has a good track record. I was more interested in the bedroom apartment. It has been around a long time so it has a good track record. The people are very friendly and many professional people in this area speak very highly of it. Many of them end up there eventually. They are very friendly, and it seems to be a well-appointed community, although it's getting a little old. One thing that has happened is that they've opened another facility towards Alabama, and it's a brand new community, so I wonder if they're putting some of their resources over there. The staff is very good people. The rain gutters are kind of rusted out in places. They have a swimming pool, but it looked very old. You can still use it for aerobics, but you can't swim laps in the pool.

I toured Azalea Trace for an aunt. It was a very nice community with different styles of housing, like apartments, cottage-style, and garden apartments. They had pools and aerobics classes. They had pretty much everything you want. They had a nice dining room, a library, card rooms, places for activities, and a gardening area. They had assisted living, skilled nursing care, an on-site pharmacy, and doctors and nurses on staff. They had a lot of good stuff, but my aunt is not ready to move. The staff members were all very nice and very friendly, and even the administrative assistant was willing to show you anything. They were very nice. The people in the area seemed like they were happy. My aunt knows several people who live there and they're very happy with it.

Azalea Trace is quite a large community. The grounds were beautiful and very spacious, a couple of acres worth. The sales agent was absolutely wonderful. There were a couple of things that were lacking. It was a buy-in community and we were looking for a rental because we have the long term care insurance that will cover anything. The other was that they did not offer a gluten-free menu. We had dinner there; the chef did a special effort to make a gluten-free dinner, and it was very good. The problem is that chefs come and go. This was a fairly young woman, and if she left, there would be no assurance that the gluten-free diet would continue.

Azalea Trace was a very nice facility, but I wasn't impressed with it. It just didn't seem bright and cheerful. I don't know if it was an older facility or not, but it was a progressive facility and this was one of the good things about it. You can go from totally independent living to total nursing care. It was a very nice facility and they do have some small patio homes, which was a nice thing too for somebody like me who is still independent. I have eaten there and it was very good food. The rooms were along a long, dark corridor and it felt more like an elderly facility or more like a nursing home. The people were quite helpful and nice.

When my grandparents moved into Azalea Trace, I was very pleased at the accommodations for independent living. However, now that my grandfather has moved into long term care, I am concerned about the level of care he is receiving. The ratio for Certified Nursing Assistant to patient is within state minimum, but there are not still not near enough to properly care for the patients. The dining room service for long term patients is embarrassing compared to the main dining room (or any standards for that matter). While the staff is friendly, there are far too few of them to provide decent and quality care for patients who need it. It's really disappointing.

I would give Azalea Trace a high rating but it was very expensive. They have a waiting list that is about a year and a half to two years. Their grounds are landscaped to the Nth degree. They're beautiful and really well designed. It is just amazing. It is more amazing than I can describe. A lot of their residents are very active. They have their own private golf course. Their apartments have bedrooms, kitchens and living rooms. Each one of them has a beautiful view. You have meal prepared for you but you have to go to the dining room. Their second level is for medical level. If you have a lot of medical problems, you go into it. Then there is a third level and it is for people that are mentally impaired. People who are fairly wealthy here want to go there. They're pretty exclusive. If you're very old and just wanted to retire and have people take care of you, I definitely recommend Azalea Trace if you could get in.

My friends had a mini apartment which included one bedroom and one bathroom, a small kitchen, and a living area. They were very satisfied, as they were well acquainted with the other residents, and felt "at home". They enjoyed the bus service that took them to different places. Personally, evening meals were a pleasure to experience, with very good food and formal service. The staff always welcomed visitors and knew the majority by name. It was neat to see a salon partition directly in the facility. The facility also has a nurse's station. Another aspect I enjoyed seeing is that they have an interior design group, who constantly decorated the hallways and joined living areas, for the various occasions and holidays. Activities such as the popular Bingo night and church services kept the residents actively engaged socially, and the residents had something special to look forward to and plan for every night.

The facility was clean and had a very relaxed " Home" atmosphere. The employee's seemed very genuine regarding their concern for comfort of their residents. The dining area was decorated very nicely and the color scheme was inviting and cheery. The landscaping was also very pleasant and relaxing. THe meals prepared appeared and smelled enticing. I did not see residents sitting forgotten in hallways or alcoves. The activity area was clean and cheery and listed a schedule of various activities from Bingo, to excercises as well group trips to beauty salons, Walmart and other shopping areas within the city. Additionally, there was a posting for Movie times and showings for various says for those interested. There was also a listing for various church group scheduled visits. There was a posted snack time and various afternoon snacks and refreshments offered. Overall, it seemed a good caring facility for the elderly disabled to reside in.

My 94 year old aunt has lived at Azalea Trace for the past 5 years. She started in an apartment and now is in health care. Azalea Trace is considered the premier senior residence in our area and in some ways it probably is. The buildings are lovely. There are facilities and appropriate activities for each level of ability from complete independence to maximum assistance and everything inbetween. As with probably all facilities the nurses aides vary widely from excellent to neglectful.
