I was a resident and also in rehab for a period of over 60 days. I dont know where to start as I can not say enough good about Glencove. From the people in the front office, the nurses, the CNAs, the food service staff, the housekeeping staff, the maint. staff, the laundry staff, activities staff and Rehabilitation. These people DO THEIR JOBS. When I came to Glencove I was in a wheel chair with a cast from my hip to my toes and could not walk. Every need and want I had was taken care of from insurance problems to personal care, pain management, transportation to and from Ortho. Dr. food service and rehabilitation. My room was cleaned everyday, bed made and linen changed. I had a choice of having my meals served in my room or going to the dining room. I was on several different medications taken at different times of the day and night and the nurses made sure I had them and on schedule. I came in a wheel chair and a cast and I left walking with a boot thanks to the rehabilitation center. These people worked me through 4 cast, 2 boots and a infection of a cut that was a result of my accident. I will never be able to thank these people enough for the care, kindness and rhab I received from Glencove.

My mom stayed at Glencove Health & Rehabilitation Center (Glen Cove Nursing Pavilion). They took very good care of her and she loved the staff. They were awesome. She wasn't really crazy about the food though because it was pretty nasty. It was an older building, but it's always well-kept and clean. She did rehab during the week. They have parties all the time.

I would not recommend this facility as being one of the best options in Panama City. I have had a loved one there for two and a half years and have seen moderate functional decline sense soon after She arrived. Considering I live out of town and only come visit 4 times a year, it is quite ironic each time I come she is either in bed all day, eating without her dentures, smells like urine or a lack of Grooming, is lethargic due to a medicine change family is unaware of, not receiving the assistance he needs with feeding, and nearly always out of water in her bedside cup. I work in the field of Health Care and know full well the proper way patients should be cared for. Most of the nursing staff is very sweet however I feel that the care greatly Lacks. We have addressed our concerns several times to them, however no consistent change. My loved one now is in the hospital ICU due to being found lethargic, and very low heart rate and kidney function. The rehab department does seem to be fairly good though. Maybe for a short-term stay it would be adequate, just not for a patient that is dependent for functional daily tasks. My grandmother and grandfather had a much better experience at National Healthcare. Thx!

I can not even give this facility a one star as of now. My mother was checked in to Glen Cove this past Friday after hip surgery and has been in bed for three days with out PT or OT. On line, the facility states that it is "award winning". That is why we chose Glen Cove. It has taken her forever to get her pain medication and she has been in tears from being ignored since Friday. I will write additional comments if this situation improves.

I visited a friend three to four months ago at Glen Cove, and everything seemed very nice and clean. Her room seemed adequate. They do some exercise programs, Bingo, and things of that nature. They seemed to have a good staff; they were very kind, caring, and patient.

Clean & friendly. food was very adequate, knowing the many different palates they are dealing with. My mother, passed away at 94 after spending 2 years in this facility. She was a social person which probably helped with her being friendly with the nurses and especially the aides. Like most she did not want to be there but after thoroughly examining the other full service homes I felt this was the best location. The only low mark was during meal service and all aides/helpers are busy getting the residents to the dining room. There were a number of times when my mother needed to use the bathroom and the wait seemed excessive long. This might also occur during a shift change. Never did I think there was a lack of caring but simply the staff was fully engaged in other activities. Regardless of how nice a facility is visits by family/friends is a must...to be certain your or the resident's wishes are adhered to.

I visited Glencove Nursing Pavillion with a friend of mine who was going to visit her grandfather. Glencove is a smaller nursing home compared to others I have seen, it looked like maybe there was around one hundred beds, with usually two beds in each room. I liked this about Glencove. It was also a pretty facility. The building seemed to be well maintained, and possibly newly painted. The grounds were very green and lush and appeared to be well taken care of. The inside of the facility has more of a homey feel. It was decorated kind of old-fashioned and with a bit of flair. The facility seemed to have less of a hospital look and feel compared to other nursing homes I have been in. I did see staff interracting with patients and they seemed friendly and helpful. Their uniforms were neat and clean. The dining room was very pretty and had a piano that some of the staff would play during meal times. When I was there, it did not seem to be an extremely noisy facility. The nurses were at their stations doing paperwork. I believe it is a three story facility with at least two working elevators. Overall, if I had a family member or friend who needed nursing home care, I would definately consider Glencove Nursing Pavillion.
