I visited this facility

I toured Ormond in the Pines. The way it's set up is one of the reasons. My girlfriend is going through really long halls, and I didn't like that you had to come down this long hall to get to the elevator. The other one is sort of broken up into sections, so it's easier to get around. I want a swimming pool and I think Ormond has one. I was okay with all the rooms I looked at. They're plenty sufficient. Some people might want the room, but when I go, I just want a little tiny room. Those are little tiny rooms, but they're very efficient, and they have a lot of choices at Ormond. The residents were almost everywhere when we went into the game room, the craft room, and the cafeteria. It was very nice. They were dressed, clean, and like normal people, just a little bit older. Everybody was very pleasant. The food was very good.

I visited this facility

I toured Ormond in the Pines. The apartments are very spacious. I found it very convenient. The people, the hospitality was excellent. I met with a few people, and also one of the residents, and I'm very happy with that. Everything went very well. They treated me to lunch and I didn't expect it. The only thing about the lunch, they didn't give me very much to eat. I'm a big guy, and I like to eat a lot, so they didn't look at that. Everybody got the same portion. Most everyone that I met was using a walker. They didn't care much about the activity, but I did see that some were playing cards, some were swimming, walking, and others were reading. They have a good library. I didn't see anybody other than a few people playing cards. I got there around lunchtime, so at 12:00 the cafeteria filled up and people were brought in. They came in with their walkers and wheelchairs. I don't have that and I am able to get around without that, so I didn't ask questions about the activities.

I went to Ormond in the Pines. They're pretty good, very nice and very professional. It's a higher building. They have three floors or three levels. They have little kitchenettes, a living room, and a bedroom. We only looked at a one-bedroom there because the two-bedroom was too pricey. The food was good. The dining area was big and clean. They have all-day snack areas where they have water all the time available and snacks for the residents in between the three meals a day. They have a small salon, a small gym, and a good-sized pool. They have rocking chairs in the front of the building to sit. They have bingo inside, movie night and they have a library. I think they have a pool table, too.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My friend has moved into Ormond in the Pines. What I like best is the help that we were given by the staff and the officers. They were all so helpful to me, because there were so many things that I did not understand and know about an assisted living facility. They were very patient, and they were very knowledgeable and explained it in layman's terms to me. I can't find anything wrong. I am very happy with the facility for my friend. Once he gets his eyes looked at, he may be able to go to independent, but right now he's in assisted living. I had one little complaint, but I think it's been taken care of. I did not know that I had to do his laundry, his sheets, but they said I don't because it's in his contract that they do them because he's in assisted living. That was the only thing that I was not aware of. The rooms are very nice. He has a one-bedroom apartment, and he has a kitchenette, and there was really a lot of storage space. I was surprised. I was very happy with the whole room for him. He can get his wheelchair in and out of there, too. They're handicap accessible. They have activities, and one of the things that he's gotten hooked on is Wii. I know there are other activities. He just needs to get out a little more with the residents. Two other things that I liked were, number one, they have a day that they'll take you anywhere you want to go. If you want to go to the store or if you want to go shopping or have to go to the dentist or something, they'll take you. They also have bus tours and trips and different things. They went to see the lights at Christmas time. They do a lot. They also care about their people. They check on him several times to make sure he is OK. The food was very good. My friend is very particular about what he eats, and he complains about everything, and that's his personality unfortunately, but I've not had a bad meal. I've only eaten there twice, but it's all been good. There are so many things they can do. They can go to the library, they can read, they can watch TV, they can watch movies, and they have entertainment come in every so often for them. We're spending a little bit more than we thought we would be, but unfortunately, he has some health issues when he went into the facility, and they're still working on those, but it's doable, so I'm OK with the rates. If I had to go someplace, I definitely would go there, because of the kindness and the cleanliness, and everybody's happy. There's so much to do. I was very, very impressed.

We would have gone to Ormond in the Pines. I liked it a lot. They had very friendly staff. They involved the residents and greeted the new residents who came in. The food was excellent. They even served us lunch so we could try it. The rooms were huge, but we needed my dad on the first floor, and they didn't have anything on the first floor. They had a lot more amenities and they dedicated a whole wall to the veterans in the facility. So that was very nice.

Ormond in the Pines was very clean and everybody was welcoming. The apartment that I saw was very cute. The staff who assisted me was very knowledgeable and very nice. It seemed like a place where there were plenty of activities. The dining area was very large and clean. I saw a library with plenty of books.

My number one choice would be Ormond in the Pines. I like best the amenities and the size of the one-bedroom room. The staff are very friendly and very knowledgeable. They have a courtyard, a lounge, a TV room, a theater, an exercise room, doctors on board, a nurse there during the day, storage units, and menus available a week ahead of time. They also have a beauty salon open all week, and they have a library, too. It's quite extensive.

We were a little disappointed in Ormond in the Pines. We would definitely not consider that a place we would want to live. We didn't really see too much of the staff. The apartments were nice, but not at the level of the other places we visited. The community areas, like the dining room and the entrance places, were a little bit small.

The Ormond in the Pines has nice walking trails with a lot of trees. They have a nice pool, a small kitchenette in the apartment, and a laundry room. The staff was very knowledgeable and friendly. They emailed several times back and forth, and I got good answers back and forth. It's about four to five miles from the ocean.

I visited the Ormond in the Pines. I didn't think that it was quite as attractive as the first one I went to, but overall it was very nice. We were able to see an empty apartment. The staff that I met there were very friendly. They have many things for them to do, and some of the residents were getting ready to get on a bus to go out for dinner. They take them places, they have a little library where they can read, they play games, they have a salon, they have washers and dryers they can use if they want to do their own laundry. Overall, it was nice and clean. They also have a courtyard, a swimming pool, they have places where they can gather to play cards or games, and they have a nice dining room.

Ormond in the Pines reminded me of a schoolhouse. It's all one level, and it seemed like it was a little bit of an older community. The person who gave me the tour was very nice, though. They had three meals a day and activities if you want to join in. The apartments were very small, but the place seemed very clean.

I took a tour or Ormond in the Pines, and my first impression was that it was welcoming. The grounds were gorgeous, and the pool looks very nice. The place was clean, and the residents seemed content and happy. Jenny was the name of the one who gave me the tour, and she was a very nice gal. The dining room was lovely; it looks very homey and very welcoming. I saw several postings of the activities that were going on, and it all looked nice, and interesting.

We went to see Ormond in the Pines. It's very beautiful, and it's very clean. The people were nice, and it's not too big or too overwhelming. It's just quaint and nice. We looked at the independent and also saw the assisted living area. It did not smell or anything. It's very clean. I couldn't try the food because I got there for the tour a little after lunch, but the dining area was nice and orderly. There were some residents just walking out of an activity when I got there. I didn't actually see it going on, but I did see activity rooms and stuff. The patients appeared to be happy and comfortable in their surroundings.

Everything is nice at Ormond in the Pines, and I love it. I love the setup, the staff, and I went to the independent living side. The outside of the dining area looked like it was 5 stars. They had a lot of activities, she explained everything to me, I really liked it, and if I had to make a choice, that would be my choice.

I am/was a resident of this facility

We have already moved into Ormond in the Pines. We are thrilled to be here. My husband and I have different health issues. While we're young in some sense of the word, my husband is becoming more dependent. He needs a little more protection and I need a little more support. However, instead of being busy with housework, grocery, and cleaning, I have more time for him and more time to be less frazzled. It is working very well. We love it. It is pleasant to the eye because it has been re-decorated, so it looks fresh and the colors are pleasing. They have wonderful staff members who communicate with the people and they give you choices. The food is delicious and the service is excellent. We have three rooms plus two bathrooms. Going from a three-bedroom, two-bath to this was a shock, but it was OK because we have an extra room. We have not participated in many of the activities, but they have great activities all the time. I love cards and they have different card games. They have a great staff, too. It is not perfect because it is full of human beings that aren't perfect, but on the other hand, I really think it is a wonderful community. It is where we need to be. We are really thrilled and we are happy. It is great.

I recently visited Ormond in the Pines, it is a beautiful community. The staff was very friendly. I made an appointment to have lunch, I was introduced to a table of great people and the food was amazing. I saw the model apartment , I was very surprised how big the 1 bedroom is, I love the fact they have full kitchens. I am very excited about moving in and look forward to all the fun activities and outings with new friends.

Ormond in the Pines' rooms were cheaper but way too small and didn't have a little kitchenette. They had small refrigerators, and that was it. To me, it was way too mixed up. There was a lot of room, and I would've never been able to remember where was where. It's a little choppy, and it would have been confusing to me. It was clean, and other than the size of the room, I didn't have a problem with it.

Ormond in the Pines was also very nice. I do remember the gal who gave us the tour there -- Dianne. My son and I came on behalf of my mother; we went there without an appointment, it was toward the end of the day, and Dianne just was so energetic and bubbly. I couldn’t have asked for a better tour or a better person to have given the tour. She was great. The rooms were fine. They just seemed awfully small. If you put a queen-sized bed in one of the bedrooms, I think it would be kind of hard to get in and out of it.

I am a friend or relative of resident

We searched for many retirement facilities particularly for those which offered good independent living and if need be the opportunity to be in assisted living without having to move to another location. Ormond in the Pines was all of this and much, much more. What struck us in considering a place to recommend to an elderly aunt was the immediate sense of family by the residents, the staff and visitors. People actually greeted others with a smile and happy comments about living there and the great care by the staff. No one is ignored here. Each person can find friends to make or people will approach them to join them for meals or games. Ormond in the Pines was the best place we ever could have found for our dear relative. She felt at home immediately and liked everyone and the meals as well. They genuinely care!! It may not be the newest building or glitziest place, but for warmth, tender caring and real friends Ormond in the Pines cannot be beat.

I went to visit Ormond in the Pines and the place was very nice, but expensive. It’s very clean. The room that they showed me was a single room and there was nothing in it. Everything that we saw at Ormond in the Pines was OK, but it just doesn’t feel like we’re ready for something at this time. We liked that they have a pool. We saw an apartment, and it was adequate. Their dining room was restaurant-style and had a little menu. They showed us the activities calendar, which included game nights and things of that nature. They had a physical therapy room, which we felt was nice, and a hobby store that you could contribute to.

We liked Ormond in the Pines. It was very nice. The staff treated the residents very nicely, and they just did have a really good atmosphere. There was a lot of stuff that was within walking distance. It was located very well, and because it is close to 95, I could visit my family so easily. We were looking for something that would be close to 95, so that gave it an extra boost. They had everything. They had a puzzle room, a library, and so many things. My husband and I are not really active socially, but it looked like there were people who we would be able to socialize with. It wasn't all old people. We are old, but we are not "old-old." If they went on field trips or they did something that, we would probably go. We just don't do a lot because we don't like to drive at night.

The people during the tour were great. They were all very acceptable and seemed very competent. The only thing it did not offer was the ability to keep my parents together. My mother needs physical attention where my stepfather needs less. It was clean and safe, and the food was good. They had lots of activities. The overall ambience was nice; it was a homey place. I would recommend Ormond in the Pines if it's a good match.

We visited Ormond in the Pines, and we had lunch there. I wasn't too happy with the lunch, but other than that, the rooms and everything were nice. The person running the place was very congenial, and I enjoyed her. She showed us around. The only complaint I thought I have would be the food. I thought the rooms were large, and they seemed all right to me. The other thing that we didn't like was when we first walked in, it was like we were walking into a home where I liked to walk where there would be an entrance or some sort. However, I thought the couple that was running the place seemed to be helpful.

We chose Ormond of the Pines for my mom because of the amenities that it offers although she hasn’t moved in yet as we are waiting for an available apartment. I went to Ormond in the Pines. I thought that everybody adored the faculty and the faculty loved the people that live there. There’s a lobby, and the dining hall was right in the right hand side. It’s very, very nice and the chef came out and met us. They invited us to have a meal. The dining hall looked beautiful and they were getting ready for happy hour -- which is OK -- but my personal view is that elderly people shouldn’t be drinking. I could see that they really take pride in their dining hall because it’s newer. They have a presentation of the meal ahead of time out in the hallway to show you what you’ll be eating that day which is nice. The lower floor is the independent-living and the apartment was very nice. It was quite large and the bedroom was a good size. The bathroom was pretty good. The one thing I didn’t care for is the kitchenette. The kitchenette was so outdated. The stoves were like from back in the 1970s. Most of the residents don’t even use them. I don’t like their activity room for physical therapy. It’s very small and nobody was in it. They have creamy white carpeting in the apartment itself; I didn’t care for that. They just painted and the colors downstairs are very, very depressing colors like tans, dull greens, and dull oranges like old-fashioned 70s colors instead of pretty uplifting colors. The visitation was very nice. I met with people, and they seemed very happy there. They were meeting for dinner afterwards and that was very nice. They’re all friends and I like that because the warmth and the friendliness is number one.

The old people sometimes were difficult to deal with, but the employees were so patient. They did it very diligently and nicely to accommodate their needs.
