My mother moved into CERTUS Premier Memory Care Living - Orange City a week ago. It was nice. It was very clean. The reviews were very good on it and it was close to where we live. It's a beautiful place. The staff is very nice. I have a lot of other good options, but this one was close to where my mom's house was, and it's just more convenient. They had everything we needed for her. They've got your coffee thing every morning. They've got where they go in and play their games. And if they don't want to do that, they've got TVs in rooms and happy, happy things playing like the Sound of Music. There's soft music playing most of the time.

My husband moved to CERTUS Premier Memory Care Living. They provide excellent care as a very small community and specifically for memory care issues, which is what he has, and they have been very good. I didn't realize he only had veterans for insurance, and they only take Medicare and Medicaid. He's been there since June without anything but the veterans, which was a very difficult thing for all of us to try to navigate. They were very patient and they held on and they kept him. Now he's on Medicare and they're able to give the different meds, different things. They've done a fabulous job. I don't have anything bad to say about them. I have to admit that it was pretty rough for a while, but they still hung in there and now he's getting better care because they can have better meds. They're all private rooms and they're very large. They're almost like a little apartment and the facility itself is. That is stunning and has everything that you could need as a barbershop, as a theater they have different sections, and the communities are separated and all the residents there get plenty of attention. They're not just allowed to stay in their rooms there. They drop them out and they do things with them. It's a very nice facility, which I would never be able to afford if it wasn't for the help from the veterans. They have full-time staff, they are there all the time. They do play games according to their needs and they do all kinds of different things. He sees it as he enjoys them when he's up when he's able to function a little bit. The activities are plentiful and they are here for different needs that they have. And because it's just such a place like that where it's only memory care issues, that they can do that. I have nothing bad to say about them at all because they're very patient. I've had meals here with him and they're very good. They have a chef and they do a pretty good job with the meals or guided to each of their needs.

We ended up choosing CERTUS Premier Memory Care Living - Orange City for my mother. We love it there. She's gotten better. We're very impressed with the staff, with the care that they give, and the way the people are taken care of. The place is very beautiful. It is clean. They have a reason for everything that they do, starting from the way they built the place, to the colors, and even the clothing that the staff is wearing. My mom is doing more there than she did at home in so many ways. She's got a little buddy where she hangs out with, and they do pretty much everything together, and they're so good for each other. She goes to the meetings. I think there may be games of some sort, and she goes to the exercise class. Her mentality, her personality, and her moods are better in everything. She acts kind of normal now because she's being well taken care of. One of the reasons why I wanted to place her there was because they focus on brain health and their diet. And they do the Mediterranean diet. I'm seeing everything as it should be. And another great thing is the sleep patterns. They make sure that my mom is sleeping at night too, which she wasn't doing at home. I think the staff there is satisfied. They communicate with us. They answer all our questions. They try to do everything we want unless there's a reason, and then they explain to us. I did see someone dancing there one time, and they do take the people outside the facility.

My mom has moved into CERTUS Premier Memory Care Living- Orange City. The determining factors were, the other one didn't offer Medicare when she runs out of money and this place is solely a memory care facility. The staff is knowledgeable in memory care. The way the building is set up, it's designed for those who have dementia or Alzheimer's. It doesnt look like an institution, there's more of a homey feel to it. The prices are inclusive of everything that when they give you a quote, that's the price. Those are the main factors that turned me to them. When my mother's funds start to deplete, she can put in Medicaid; I mean, she has to be approved, but they give her the chance to do that. My mom's room is kind of like a studio. It has a bathroom that has no threshold for the shower. It's roomy, where you can just roll a wheelchair in there and put them in a shower chair. Everything in there is set up where there's plenty of room. They have three different types of rooms, a small, medium, and a large one; my mom's in a medium. The largest ones are only on the corners of the building of the wing. They have their breakfast time when they get up in the dining area. After that they go to their town center, which is set up like storefronts and stuff with a lot of windows and lighting. They meet there every morning for coffee and chronicles. They go from there to the activities room, which is open at 10:00 in the morning and they have different activities each day. They have everything from bingo to the balloon toss or ring toss. After they get done with their activities, they usually have discussions. They have a topic to get people to talk and get a little bit of interaction as much as they can depending on the cognitive ability of the patients. They have music once or twice a week, and they have a music group come in. The staff has been really helpful. My mom is pretty happy with the food. They eat quite a bit throughout the day. After breakfast, they have a snack between breakfast and lunch, and they have a snack between lunch and dinner. Their dinner's at 4:30 PM, so it's good. The chef, she's pretty good about putting stuff in the snacks like fruits, and they don't even know. They think they're eating something and getting away with some sweets, like a dessert, but it has a lot of nutrients in it. I'm pretty happy with it.

CERTUS Premier Memory Care Living- Orange City was the best among all the ones I visited. They seemed like they were on top of the memory care. The rooms looked pristine, they were terrific. I saw a private room. You had to bring your own bed and stuff, but it had a bathroom and a wardrobe. They had a doctor on staff. They had a physical trainer there for each resident.

My husband is in CERTUS Premier Memory Care Living - Orange City. The thing that I liked most is that it's specialized for memory care, so the only patients there are patients with memory care needs. His apartment is beautiful, it's a private room that's accessible for him. It has an air conditioner, his own TV, drawer, closet, it's very, very well-presented, clean, and nice. The staff that I met there were great people. They're very accessible, very concerned, attentive, very nice people. I asked my husband about the food and he likes it, and I can go and have lunch with him if I want for $10. The facilities are totally great, clean, well-arranged, and everything. They have a theater there for movies, a very nice gym too, barber shop, the dining place is great, and they do activities all day. The value for the money is just right for me, it's expensive no matter what because it's high, but the service and the place is good for the price. I looked and went to another place that costs almost the same, but the value wasn't as good for me as this place.

My mom has moved into Certus Memory Care, and so far, the staff has been excellent. I was able to go in her room the first time when we were setting it, and the room was very new, very nice, and very well set up. It was designed with people of her condition in mind, too. I really like that they have a motion detector system in the rooms, which was one of my deciding factors. My mom said the food is OK, and the activities look good, too. She currently has a right broken arm, so it has been very difficult for her, but they're finding other things that she can do right now. I like that they separate the residents into different groups depending on their level of memory issues, so that was also a deciding factor. Because my mother is mild to moderate, she is in with other people that are in the same condition. I also like that it is a one-fee structure knowing that when you're in memory care, they pretty much have to do everything for them. Some other communities were more like a basic price and then they add on cost for things like managing meds and things like that.

We went to CERTUS Premier Memory Care Living. The place was beautiful and is very based on studies for dementia. They have a very specific program to hope that they all are successful there. They've got a specific diet that they cook for their residents. They do a Mediterranean meal for them. I liked everything about it. It was excellent. We saw some of the rooms by chance. Everybody that I've met has been very nice. They know what they're doing and they've been in the industry for a while, so it was nice. They were pleasant.
