My father is in Ocoee Health Care Center. He's been there for about a week now. It's nice, decent looking, and pretty reasonable. They have a whole list of services they are able to provide dad, so it gives me some peace of mind. The staff is really helpful. His room is homey, and he's in a shared room. They have a list of activities there. They're very helpful and very friendly. They want you to tell them what you may need, so they're very helpful. I wouldn't say it's brand new, but it looks like it's fairly new. It's easy to get from point A to point B. They were able to give me what I needed for my dad, which is immediate care. They took him in right away. They got him all set up really nice. I would say the pricing was very reasonable.

the floors are sticky and in need of cleaning. the phone system is the worst I've ever seen. there is odor of urine and feces as soon as you get on the long care wing. the problem is when a patent urinate or have a bile movement nursing should clean that person and wipe down their bed with disinfectant then put un fresh sheets instead of putting clean sheets on a dirty bed.

Mother came in infection free. Eight days later she had an aggressive bacterial and fungal infection. When I arrived she was in full body chills. Head nurse wanted to wait to talk to doctor and see how she does. I immediately insisted they call 911 or I would! Found out that if you are out of the facility for more than 12 hours it is an automatic discharge and they would lose her Humana benefits. So glad she is out of this place!

Left patient to die. Staff and Facility s/b Closed. Lack Nursing and Certainly Healing skills. Roaches prevailed thru-out Facility.

The phone system is terrible. They should tell family members not to call after 5:00pm. I called 4 times after ten minutes a recording comes on and tell you to leave a message. You can't reach or get information on a love one. It took 4 calls back to back almost 40 minutes to get through. I started to have the police check if everything was ok.

My family member has been in long term care for over a year at West Orange Center for Nursing & Healing. I tried to work with staff which is in constant turnover. The administrator NEVER interacts or RESPONDS to CONCERNS with/of families. The floors are sticky and litter under and around the bed and night stand. The toilets don't work and they have bedbugs and roaches in the rooms. My family member was treated horribly and neglected by the staff. He would call for help but be ignored. He ending up in the hospital five times due to falls this year (January-June). I FINALLY REFUSED TO DISCHARGE HIM FROM THE LAST HOSPITAL ADMISSION. The hospital worked to find another long term care bed for him. I would not wish my worst enemy be placed at this nursing home.

Let me start with the COVID Ward. The entrance is horrible. There were red contaminated containers outside with stuff in them. The sidewalk in is a accident hazard. When I entered I saw a makeshift area sectioned off with a plastic wall. 10 days in that area was awful. The Communication among the staff is horrible. The general population rooms and area is less than desirable. It looks like the facility is old and appears to not have been upgraded since they opened. When discharged they just walked in and said patient is being discharged today. Good thing you came to visit today. Overall I would not recommend Ocoee Health & Rehabilitation.
Disgusted by the facility

It is a facility that has been around for awhile. Some of the condition of the rooms are due to age. This is understandable. BUT the filth outside the entrance to the COVID unit is a health hazard. There are many Bio-hazard red bins outside that were running over with garbage. I was told that entry to the COVID unit required gowns, gloves and N95 mask. None of these were offered. That was just a beginning of 10 days of hell. No communication (phones not answered) with nursing staff. Then the discharge was fumbled and patient was discharged to another nursing home instead of home and equipment was not correctly ordered. Staff I talked to was not competent to do the job she had.

This is the worst place ever. Do not put your loved ones in this facility. My relative was released from this facility in worse condition than what they went in for. Please find some where else if at all possible.

My partner was in for rehab. Physical therapy was excellent. Everything else was bad. In the 6 weeks he was there he got one shower. Food was awful. All of his clothes were lost. When he was discharged he was sent home with meds that were not his. In his discharge papers was a fax for a cardiac procedure that was for another patient. Spoke to someone in charge and never received a call back. He was sent home with a face mask that was dirty. He said that they ran out. Thank God he is home and doing well.

In late November my mother in law was unfortunately hospitalized with RSV along with several other health issues. She was in the hospital for about 2 weeks then was transfered to this facility to do rehab and regain her strength. From the moment we entered Ocoee Healthcare Center we had a horrible experiance. We were extreamly patient understanding that there is a adjustiment period that everyone has to go through when entering any situation like this. She was here for a total of 6 days before we decided enough was enough. We spoke to the lead nurse numerous times, basically begged, and nearly had to spend all day and night with my mother in law at this facility because the nursing staff was horrible. We got a call from her one night at 2:00am crying and screaming becasue she had slid down in her bed and could hardley breathe. She pushed her button and yelled for someone to help for 15 minutes when finally her roommate woke up and helped her get to her phone to call us only to have the nurses tell me she was lying and had a "bad dream" even with her roommate confirming everything my mother in law said. Bottom line is, please do not put your family memeber through this kind of treatment. Its sad that people are treated this way in facilities like this even with very involved family memeber, i just cant imagine what happens to the people who dont have an advocate to speak for them.

Quality of place poor, always smells like urine sometimes poop. Nurses just okay, don’t expect to be greeted Even from the people closed behind doors They just hide there all day. The worst part of all is the nasty way they handle the situation of losing my fathers belongings. They had me go to the facility twice OCOEE HEALTH CENTER to meet with laundry and go through other peoples clothes (yes you heard right)(mind you I specifically told nurses, that I was doing my fathers laundry). The last time I went to the facility upon Liz request not Liz or administration had the decency to greet me or apologize for the unfortunate circumstances I find my self in. I’ve called everyday and left messages for Liz head of nurses and Administration to call me and no return calls. Answering service even gives me attitude because I’m calling every day, sometimes twice a day. The first time I went to retrieve my fathers clothing as I was walking the hallway I saw a bag of underwear’s and a towel that looked familiar in the entrance of someone else’s room. When I picked up the bag, guess what, Unbelievable my dads undies and towels in someone else’s room. I’m missing a bottle of shampoo, conditioner lotion , jeans, shirts and shoes. At one point Liz told me that I would get reimbursed to give her total priced of items. When I gave her the amount she said it was too much and that I would need to provide receipts.. Really you want receipts of clothes I purchase for my 80yr old dad.. Then she requested for me to come in a second time to the facility to look AGAIN for my dads clothing, which I did. On that visit which I mentioned above, I only met with laundry. This is going on two weeks and this is the first step I’m taking. I GOING TO BLAST THIS ON SOCIAL MEDIA. I have video/recordings I’m going to let the world know the treatment that I’ve received from this facility. I read other reviews and it’s a shame that other people in the past have gone through the same issue and they’ve done nothing to fix the problem.

My MIL went from rehab to Long Term Care. She is 91 and has dementia. She is not the most pleasant person to be around but the staff treat her kindly. The CNAs have the patience of saints. I honestly don't know how they do it. The rooms are older but clean and pleasant. You have the liberty of making the room as much "like home" as you can. We hung many of her favorite paintings without any problems. I make surprise visits and my MIL is always clean, fed and hydrated. Her call button is answered promptly and with a little coaxing, the staff get her to participate in activities. She has become much more pleasant to be around since moving to Ocoee Health Center and I believe it is due to the caring staff.

Mom was at this facility for about one month. My direct review: - Rooms horrible - mom's room had ants, of which I had to fight to get addressed with a sense of urgency. Ants on window sill, floor and in her dresser drawer. - Wound nurse dressed mom's open wound without sterile gloves. When I asked her, she said gloves were not needed (not sure what planet she was trained on.) Addressed with Administration that same day - luckily, they talked to her immediately. - Therapy department magnificent! (only reason I kept my mom there.) Ron - tech - awesome! Dominique - therapist - awesome. - CNA's very short staffed, and most don't have a solid bedside manner. Not their fault - they have too heavy of a load and seem rushed. - My mom's Social Worker @ the facility was not hands on whatsoever and should not be in this field. Discharging my mom from facility was a disaster and she didn't really care to assist. - Food - about 50% is edible. 75% of the time it comes cold...when it should be hot. They did, however, replace food with alternate items when mom didn't like the daily meal or it came cold. Thank you for that. - Joe (RN) is the best employee there! Very customer service oriented, very caring, very nurturing. Treats patients like family. The rest need to learn from him. - Mom's doctor at this facility was AWFUL. Saw her maybe 3 times and definitely does not display care for patients. Ironically, her staff (CNA's) were quick to elude they don't care for her lack of professionalism and attentiveness. Unprompted. - Admissions department did their job well. They "sold" the facility as top notch. Kudos for their sales effort, but they certainly don't know the product they are selling (or, they do know and just don't care.) - Salon - GREAT IDEA and great hair stylist. Made my mom feel somewhat "normal" to have her hair done while she was there. Nice benefit. - Mom was there for a month. They brought her to the shower room once. We asked several times. (My mom was totally coherent, so her ability to move or communicate was not the issue. Feel horrible for the ones who have no advocates or can't communicate. Was heartbreaking.) Highly recommend families REALLY do their research on this facility before placing a family member. I wish I did more homework than I did. I visited my mom every single day. If I did not, I fear what would have truly happened.

This place is horrible! Understaffed and the cna staff they have are lazy/rude and run from duties. On a daily basis during 3-11 shift my family member had to stay in soiled undergarments for 2 hours or more. Head nurses were rude and ignored you when approached at there seats behind computer and never knew answers to any questions asked. On release date we had to cancel our transportation because loved ones catheter had not been changed and was due to get changed 12 days before! Also none of her paperwork was even ready by time transportation was to pick her up. None of the nurses knew she was being released they said so they didnt even have the lift to put her in her wheelchair to go home! Physical therapy was not done consistently due to limited staff and she was still charged. Just dont send anyone you love to this awful awful place.

My husband was at Ocoee Health when I was looking for assisted living and some assisted living won’t take him. He stayed there, and they took good care of him. It’s an older nursing home, but it’s very clean and nice. The peoplehelp out a lot, and the care is good. They’ve got one of those TV things where they do bowling, wine socials once a month, movies, and in the summer they lit firecrackers off and have picnics.
