This is a very dirty facility. There were cockroaches everywhere in my father-in-law's room. There were boxes of another previous patient's possessions stacked in the room. When he brought to the facility in the evening they left him in his street clothes and put him to bed. He was still in his street clothes when my mother-in-law visited him mid day. She was so distraught and upset at the condition of the facility an lack of proper care in just over 12 hours that she called us to help her get him out and bring him home. They also gave him fruit juice to drink when he is diabetic.

My dad has been placed in Sandy Ridge Center for Rehabilitation & Healing. He has been there for two months now. It's been great. They've been very responsive to the family, and any needs that my dad has needed, they have been able to meet them. I can't thank the staff there enough. They have been very gracious. From what I've seen of the food, my dad doesn't have a problem eating it. I've been up here at lunch, and it's been very pleasant. As far as what they're trying to do taking care of a one-assist patient (that is what my dad is), it seems to be very well meeting and accommodating their needs. For value for the money, it is on the same level as every place else. It's very clean, and my dad is always clean when I go in there. It's well-kept.

Horrible service for my mom. She had to sit up all day and when I asked to gave her put in bed, the nurses said we will get to it...they never did, so I put my mom in her bed by myself. Mom would be drugged up all day. She is feeling so much better now that she isn't in that place anymore. Also, they gave her 1 shower in 20 days. She had to lay in her poop for hours at a time. She now has bed sores that are finally clearing up. I will never put any of my loved ones in this nursing home again!

My father was at Sandy Ridge Health And Rehabilitation. It was horrible. I'm surprised he didn't die while he was there. He fell about six times. He sat up in a wheelchair all night and they didn't even put him in a bed. He sat up 24 hours a day, practically in a wheelchair. It was horrible. It was dirty. We didn't get charged anything because insurance paid for it, but it was horrible.

My mother was in Sandy Ridge Health And Rehabilitation for three weeks. They basically did a good job with Mama. She has dementia and AFib, and she was diagnosed with kidney cancer. We chose that place because it was close by. She's had a remarkable turnaround. When we first got her in, they had to come out to the car and physically pick her up; she was just totally out of it. I waited for about three days before I went back to see her because I wanted to give her time to adjust. She looked like a completely changed person. So I was very thankful for that, because I knew that she was getting the attention she needed day in and day out. I have a lot of high marks for them and whatever they did. I think there were sixty-some beds in the whole facility. She just got around and started participating, and she loved it there. It's an older facility. I know that they were painting the lobby in the front office area when Mama was being discharged. The director was trying to make improvements, I think, on the outside. The patio could have been cleaner. Part of the issue, though, is that they're all needing help and they just don't have enough. I would say the staff was really nice there. They were very accommodating for us, especially when my brother came in. I made friends with the receptionist there, and she always seemed happy to see us. I didn't have any problems except with the visitation.

Disappointed in the care my relative is being shown. When I ask questions of the staff I am told to speak to the administrator. I spent several hours observing the staff to see some (not all) hanging out in the hall talking to each other. When I asked a staff member how her day was going, she answered I’m tired. My relative was ignored and not dressed or given a bath. I spoke up but feel I was only being placated with words.

My grandmother lived in this facility, the Sandy Ridge Nursing Home, for almost five years before she passed away. Every time I visited her, which was on a weekly basis and sometimes more often, she was bathed, had clean clothes on and in her closet and smiling. Each member of the staff that worked with her took the time to learn my name as well as my other family members who would visit. She ate at least three times a day and there was one nurse who would bring her special treats when she was at work. I feel like many of the staff members went above and beyond what was required of them to make her comfortable as well as myself and my family. I never worried something bad would happen while she was there, the level of care and professionalism at this establishment was superior to any other facility I have ever experienced.
